Love these videos since Sky would rather focus on the post match celebrations than analysing the actual game itself. A breath of fresh air for analytical content
the ‘real pundits’ sharing no insight on the actual game itself
Sick of them running that stupid narrative trying to gloss over the arsenal win
commercial media for you
James is the best and has been for a long time 🙌
imagine watching on peacock man💀💀
Don’t think Trossard is getting enough credit for how great that goal is
Flicks it past Diaz and Elliot, runs from the halfway line, finishes through Alisson’s legs
Konate would have been there to sweep up but he got a red
@@zenadinpatel1208if he stopped hugging kai😂
@@zenadinpatel1208 Maybe he shouldn't of trued to stop a player running past him with a rugby tackle then 🤣🤣
@@furiousscotsman2916first card was not a yellow either, if you think that was a rugby tackle it shows you’ve never played rugby. VVD must have had a sleeping tablet before the game though
If you look it actually deflects off van dijk's foot through Allison's legs.
One thing i am sure about is that Gabriel Magelaesh is the most underrated player in the prem!
You're smoking crack again
Agree
Ya, he's not flashy, but him & Ibrahim help saliva & vvd look a lot better. He also scores a ton of goals, I heard he has the most in pl since he came (though I hate that phrase so much), & that one got taken away from him the other game
Should have been sent off and scored an OG btw
Sent off maybe but it wasn't that hard of a challenge but I'll give u that. You wouldn't mention that OG if u whatched the game.
Sorry Bradley .. Dad RIP ❤
Interesting, for me Van Dijk generally plays to protect himself - calls teammates over, slows players down until there's support etc. was surprised to see him try to engage so often in this match, mind elsewhere perhaps with next season on the mind?
That's because arsenal exploited liverpool's backline, stretched them so far, van dijk was always exposed
@@jacobalexander4167#66
I get what you mean i see it more as leading the defence he’s usually the last man and directing people ahead of him. also because he’s the last man you don’t want to immediately engage 1v1’s all the time depends on the situation sometimes it’s better to let your team get back into shape
Just subscribed to your channel. Great alternative to sky sports who are concerned with Arteta and Arsenal celebrating instead of analysing and football punditry
Nice camera mate your video is HD QUALITY
Great analysis thanks. I always remember Maldini saying, "if I have to tackle I have already made my first mistake". Arteta is certainly a student of the games greats,. Xabi Alonso was one of those type players too. If he is on Liverpool's radar then expect a shift in approach at LFC
The way that this is being played out speaks volume about liverpool than anything else. Arsenal scored one decent goal and 2 blatant defensive errors. Liverpool were never expected to dominate the ball at Emirates. Its a home game with all your players fit. This was the one game i would say they had all the reason yo win.
How come you didn't analyse the Arsenal celebrations James?
Unfortunately you're reading the stats the opposite way at the end (so it was liverpool that made the fewer tackles etc), but I agree in principle that we defended very very well. Liverpool didn't really look like scoring at all
As a Liverpool fan, arsenal dominated us. I think Klopp made a decent amount mistakes, but tbf the better team win on the day. The arsenal celebrations seemed a bit overboard but just my opinion. We crack on though, let's keep up our momentum
Speaking for myself, I was celebrating so much watching the game on TV because of how big a game Liverpool always feels like
I thought this for a while, but not really highlighted since Bradley has come in. TAA is the difference maker in a positive way against lesser teams, but is the difference maker in a negative way against the better teams. He's a huge weakness when we're not in complete control of a game. Unless he moves into midfield and steps up the pace he plays the game at, he's going to struggle to keep his place (which is an unbelievable thing to say, I know)
Bradley definitely would of started it, if it wasn't for the death of he's father. RIP 😔
@@LfC_Muffin_Man Yeah, gutted for him. Obviously his family comes first. Hopefully we'll see him back soon when he's ready
Wait were did you watch the “whole”camera angle viewing of the game? I’m always looking for better filmed shots
Jimbo, can you do a video on the mighty wolves & big Gaz?
i can’t believe people are saying van dijk is at fault for the second goal. You could argue he could clear it first time but that’s like an option, both have the same output it’s just the second one is slightly safer (or atleast in theory it was). Van dijk clearly signals to alisson that he was gonna block martinelli off whilst alisson either takes a touch and clears it or does it first time then alisson just backs out of the clearance letting it bounce down to martinelli.
Excellent analysis, right on the money.
The arsenal midfield were all over us in the fa cup and Martelli roasted Trent in that,I can't believe that we let them do it again, I'm sure something else happened before the game, our players looked really unhappy as they arrived
Reckon the 2nd one was Raya's fault. As a former pro keeper, I'd have read that Saliba was shielding and had nowhere to go. You need to be loud with your body language, brave, and dive in hands first to claim the ball, even if you take out your own defender (within reason)
James. If you ever start doing lessons on analysis, I strongly suggest you get Carragher and Neville as you first two students....
As a Liverpool fan, I didn't find our performance great whatsoever, and I thought even going into the half tied was lucky asf. However, I'm not too upset with it with all of the injuries and players out atm. YNWA!
No one has mentioned MacAllister just abdicating the responsibility of following Havertz.
what tool is being used for visualisations here?
How do you watch the game like that ?
realistically what could he change lineup wise? the only thing he could do was start robertson left back and put gomez right back and bench trent or he could start elliott in midfield. Trent has played more football recently than robertson, also with gomez being on top form and bradley our current right back being out the squad it made perfect sense. Then with the elliott thing yes gravenberch didn’t play amazing but when elliott came on he was dreadful, every successful pass went backwards or sideways and he didn’t beat a man once. We normally would start nunez (has a foot problem right now), we’d also start salah szoboszlai and we’d start a fully fit trent and robbo but it was just bad timing to play this game with everything that’s happened, if we played them last week or next week it’s a different story
Who’s the person who made the video? Chris what? Can’t find his channel?
Basically overwhelm vvd with too many options
I think midfield is still pretty weak imo. Players like Curtis Jones I think is just not good enough. He treats the ball like a time bomb. Doesnt want to go anywhere near it.
I said the same thing. Klopp got the lineup totally wrong in a must win game like this.
VVD also let the ball bounce like Saliba did. It’s his fault.
You are one of the only football analysts that I still watch, however, there are some things I don't agree with you on.
Liverpool are currently getting by on individuals pulling something out of the bag. Their play in this game mirrors that of a lot of other games. You've given Trent a free pass here. I have never seen a player less interested in defending who squares up like an idiot, every time he squares up it is easy to play round him. Hell, Martinelli literally did at one point, a good dribble, but Trent didn't even contest it. Shambolic defender. I don't even think Arsenal were that good (They were fine). Your prime example of them "defending well" shows 4 Liverpool players overextended, this is a consistent problem. Jones makes arbitrary and unnecessary runs forward, Gravenberch is a recycling 8 and out of position (I agree with you about Harvey). Liverpool have had great success with Bradley on the Right for 1 huge reason. He provides width, something that neither Salah, Jota, or Trent do. The reason Gomes is better than Trent there is because he consistently provides width. They don't overextend. Diaz then gets a horrible time of it and so does Jones because the whole team leans to that side and it is easy to stifle Diaz when he doesn't have space. He isn't Eden Hazard.
In a nutshell, Liverpool's attack and midfield cheat forward, they do it all the time, which provides no opportunity for meaningful attack, progression, and therefore, pressure. Defending them was easy. It wasn't because Arsenal were any more defensively sound then any other team, it was because Liverpool failed to meaningfully construct anything because they are badly coached by Pep Lijnders (The Scourge of LFC). No team ever wins effectively by pushing everyone up the pitch and not building from deep. Next time you watch anyone that isn't firing properly, look at how much width they have across the pitch, a player should always be out there and never cheat inside (Be it a FB, WB, or RW/LW). Then watch pressure in the midfield. It gives midfielders space to put pressure on the game. Trust me. I'm the best armchair analyst I know 😉.
I dont know if you can really call it fine margins when pool only had 1 shot on target - and that wasnt even their goal
I had to pay £11.99 for a day pass to watch that shit. Never paying to legally watch football again
COYG!!!!
Lovely to see some analysis on how we played rather than our post-match celebrations and how "Liverpool played right into our hands", pretty pathetic from these pundits.
Liverpool lost because of Diaz when he decided not to pass to Diego at the beginning of the game. I don’t see Diaz as a player for Liverpool if they want to compete to wine the premier league this year. If it was my decision I would play with Nunez, Diego and Salah no for Diaz I will sell him
ah VVD take risk
but when saliba does it, its a mistake
u dont think saliba take risks, hes the most high risk CB we got
Feel like you’re reading too much into Arsenal’s supposed brilliance for that first girl and not enough into the fact that Gravenberch covers nowhere near the ground Szoboszlai and Endo do. His nonchalance cost Liverpool all kinds of problems and Gakpo never looked comfortable on the right. Not to mention the goal came off the back of the ball being turned over and the shape of each team in disarray
I think VVD needs to work on his thigh muscles! they need to be bigger 😂😂😂
This channel beats Sky Sports propaganda against Arsenal!
You said Liverpool will win the league because of their attacking prowess, then one sentence later you say defenses win titles about arsenal… I’m confused…
Like we didn’t watch the match…😐
Saying man city and cheat in the same sentence and not referring to them is criminal/mad 😅😅😂😂😂
VVD can just head it away
Liverpool had one of their biggest stinkers, arsenal are in the race but they won’t win it Liverpool much better side one bad day doesn’t change that
I think Arsenal like to pretend they arent in the title race so they can have an underdog type story, as it seems to help motivate the players
If that's the real reason, what's the fake one?
Wasn't a full strength Liverpool team simple.
fine margins you say. all 4 goals scored by arsenal. thats not fine margins.
Rubbish Van dijk's mistake was not the moment!! It's was Saliba's mistake that gave them the goal. Arsenal were all over Liverpool and would have scored another in the second half.
liverpool will come back much stronger they all know why they lost to arsenal Liverpool played shite for VVD he doesn't deserved to be captain at all trent shouldn't be advice captain i,m hoping bradley is back soon kick trent out put in quansah instead of VVD,
disaster from alli and vvd but ok we will comeback
Are the comments here not just a little far fetched? Arsenal looked slightly better in the first half, than a team with a few first choice players missing, but went in at 1:1. That is not unusual!! Then they had a couple of goals late in the second half that were very lucky!! Am I wrong in saying, if Virgil and Alison hadn’t collided there would have been no goal? Even the last goal was a deflection. So they had a few nice moves in midfield, so what? Brentford and Brighton do every week. If they had scored three amazing goals it might be different, but they didn’t!!
We were awful today and arsenal deserved the win it’s just annoying we lost due to stupid mistakes however still believe we can win the league arsenal don’t threaten me I feel that if we don’t win the league it will be down to one of 2 thing’s either city do what city do and go on a mad run or we let ourselves down and draw too many games like we’ve done a lot in the past. We need to get back all of our players we’re missing and go on a run ourselves. We still get to play city at home so still a lot to be positive about. Also konate should of never had seen red ref messed up on that one
The only positive thing about that red is Konate has played a lot, and he is injury prone so maybe it helps😅
Defence wise we were shit! Period! Gooners are now in the title race 😂😂😂😂 . Not winning shit this season!!
The reason arsenal beat liverpool - Arsenal 3 games in 34 days, Liverpool 7 games in 34 days. Not much else to it.
ONLY Liverpool fans were over confident thinking they have a team to walk over this formidable Arsenal team…the players and their manager arrived in full trepidation! They never ever settled down and never stopped feeling the terror that tormented them for a week waiting to come to Emirates.
At the end of the game, only Liverpool fans are stunned with disbelief. Klopp knew . He knew when Arsenal was coming to Anfield some weeks ago… he demanded fans give away tickets if they don’t have the preparedness to lift his team for the visit of Arteta’s Arsenal.
Klopp has always known this Arsenal team frightens the hell out of him! People never listened to what he has to say about Arteta’s Arsenal because they disrespect Arteta a lot! I wonder why…
But Arteta is the ONLY manager who closed the gap between him and both Klopp and Pep, the only manager to do it. The rest have come and gone and never laid a glove on Pep and Klopp.
This season Arteta’s Arsenal has beaten Pep twice, and now we beat Klopp convincingly! Both Pep and Klopp only registered one ☝🏾 1️⃣ shot on target in their losses against Arteta’s Arsenal. 👀
Many didn’t look twice at that😂😂😂DISRESPECTFUL!
The real reason = Alisson 2 howlers with 2 open goals is the only way Arsenal were able to finish and putting 7 men behind the ball.
Never known a fanbase as delusional and as egotistical as this Arsenal lot that have absolutely no top trophies to back up that claim in the last 15 years
Comeback in june
The crumble starts today 🤞🏻
Sky doesn't want to give away Arsenal's tactics, there is a clear bias against Liverpool in favour of city and Arsenal
It's so clear Arsenal are winning either the PL or CL this season.
Almost a perfect project. 8>5>2>Winners.
It has to first overcome Westham
4 of your starting line up out doesn’t help matters. Liverpool probably would have battered them with a full strength team
Arsenal also had people out. Jesus, Partey, Timber, Tomiyasu. Three of those four would have started.
Liverpool haven’t beaten arsenal in the league in 2 years, and the fa cup game was hardly a battering. What has happened is arsenal, who has starters missing today too, have battered them thoroughly today, even a majority of Liverpool fans say this.
@@vitzsen4193 only guaranteed starter there is Timber. Nunez had a knock, Robertson back after a long layoff, Thiago the same, Salah gone, Endo gone, Szobo out, even Conor Bradley was a miss, the goals and quality there is unmatched by the shite you just named for Arsenal. And I’m not even a Liverpool fan lol
'probably would have battered'. you had the same back 4 you have used for months and you conceeded 3 goals. no blame can be put on missing players for that. Arsenal also had no jesus and so actually maybe we would have scored more than 3 if we had him. take the loss on the chin and stop making excuses
Arsenal also had 4 players who would have started out injured.
Jesus, Partey, Timber and Tomiyasu.
to be honest liverpool were the better side besides allisons mistake and those two bogus yellows. match could have gone either way.
This is great analysis. On skysports you just have them talking about the celebrations. Artetas tactics have been perfect in both our games against city and liverpool and it’s great to see more insight into them. keep up the good work.
Not in the FA cup, he’s not perfect and the Liverpool home game could have been better
@@zamarokxl the fa cup game tactics were very similar to yesterday but yesterday we actually finished our chances. A draw at anfield is a good result too.
@@zamarokxl but i meant more our home games against city and liverpool this season

Arsenal were great today no doubt about it. Liverpool were definitely hindered within the last 2 days lost Szoboszlai to a hamstring injury, Nunez swollen foot couldnt start and Connor Bradleys father sadly passed away so he was on compassionate leave.
Even still first loss in however months (even longer if you count deserved loss Spurs cough cough)
We're still in for 4 trophies this season, this is a minor setback, we move.
Liverpool aren't going nowhere anytime soon 😎
Edit: welp i failed trying to praise Arsenal and reassuring Liverpool that this isn't the end
Yeah yeah. We’re missing Jesus, Tomiyasu, Partey too.
We were missing Salah, Thiago, Nunez, Szoboszlai, Robertson, Bradley and Arnold just wasn’t fit.
@@joncieelmore8056 like I said you played great we didn't. I wasn't taking anything away from Arsenal's performance 👍🏽
@@joncieelmore8056 Don't forget Timber. Zinchenko wasn't supposed to be the starter this season. Seems like nobody wants to acknowledge the impact of those absences on Arsenal. All the noise is about City missing Rodri, KDB & Liverpool missing Salah.
@@rachelcanterbury we were missing Partey a top 3 prem DM when he is fit, Tomiyasu our best defensive fullback, Timber who was one of the main reasons we got our first win against City, Jesus our main striker. Thiago and Nunez both played in the game so how did you miss them?
Rice & Jorginho 👌🏿
And there was a change there as well in previous games you had Jorginho as a 6 centrally and Rice more on the left where Shaka used to play as an 8. Today it was more like a double pivot with Jorginho on the left and Rice more central and on the right. That took Liverpool’s balance off
Rice and Zubimendi next season hopefully 🤞
Gravenberch was responsible for alot of Liverpools defensive frailty, his pressing was off,he just walks back instead of running into position and never looked like he knew where he was supposed to be ... This results in the whole shape of the team having to change leaving wide openings for arsenal. If you have a szoboszlai there or have endo playing the 6 and mac Allister playing there alot of those situations would be very different
Max Allister lost the ball and made no attempt to get back. Then Gomez(?) Gets a card because he's worried about the defence.
In alot of games this season gravenberch has looked uncomfortable, like he isn't ready for some games. He is still very young and it is his first season so he will improve.
HOld the L like a grown up
Havertz is a useful player to have don’t understand the hate he gets
Cause he doesn't get g/a that's why he gets hate. There's a reason arteta bought him and he showed it today
Martinelli had a field day down our left wing, Trent left him acres of space as he always does and Konate couldn't handle Gabi and it left them short in the middle. If we could have finished the chances we made from down that side (most obvious one being Saka' header) then we could have had another few goals. Liverpool didn't seem up to it and seemed scared to make any mistake which probably caused them to make them. Aside from the OG Arsenal didn't really put a foot wrong, a few loose passes here and there but overall everyone did their job excellently
Also as a side note why can't we have analysis like this at half and full time instead of Carragher crying because Odegaard used a camera
Jorginho has been kind of an unsung hero for Arsenal since his January swap last season, and his deployment today in a central holding role was brilliant. He topped AFC's squad in successful passes, possession retention... And crucially, interceptions. Ben White absolutely shut down the left wing for L'pool except for a couple passages of play on either side of half, and the introduction of Kiwior for Zinchenko basically did the same to the right. So Jorginho stood back and orchestrated the press, but he also took advantage of Liverpool's desperation to move the ball through the most congested part of the pitch. Deservedly Man of the Match. I think Arteta may have been training the team with Partey's availability in mind, but regardless of personnel, the result was Declan Rice free to mark the passing lanes that Trent and Gravenberch would have sought to use any time a Scouser got loose of his marker. If you're looking at having to pass through either Declan Rice or Jorginho, you pick Jorginho, right? Liverpool played the odds like you said, James, in multiple parts of the pitch. That seems like a conscious design by Mikel Arteta. The house cleaned them out!
I know Jorginho is slow, but he was an absolute warrior today. Controlled the whole game with help from Rice. 10 out of 10 for Jorginho.
you analyse so much better than pundits that have played in the prem for years. Thanks James as per
Most journalists & a few yt ate better because they actually watch games. Most "pundits", only watch when they're paid to. Also just because you had quick feet didn't mean you have a sharp mind, 90% of them don't have a coherent thought going on
Upset with the performance think 3-1 flattered us but away at the emirates is the hardest league game for the rest of the season. Now that the first loss since the announcement is done I think players will look at themselves and expect a higher standard going forward because we have scraped a few league games recently
Fair play. Was always going to be tough for you when our season was on the line.
Arsenal played Liverpool of the park most of the game, best defence in the league by a mile arsenal credit to arteta
Liverpool best defence
Lol arsenal did nothing. Liverpool just gifted the game.
All goals were gifts and they had 7-8 men behind the ball playing mega defensive nothing special.
Arsenal absolutely dominated. One stupid mistake from a clean sheet and Liverpool producing nothing@@Kizzster
@@Simeulf Sitting back like Forrest and being gifted 3 goals is nothing to brag about mate. You had 40% possession and had 8 players behind the ball, The only thing you could finish were open goals from errors.
Fair play, Arsenal played an almost perfect game. Team selection and tactics were spot on. To make Liverpool look that average, you have to play to your absolute best level. Arsenal did that on Sunday. We're still 2 pts in front, but Klopp does have to accept he picked the wrong personnel for the job in this game. We can't use injuries as an excuse as they've not impacted us in other games this season. It was just poor from both a team selection and tactical perspective.
that was the best game i have seen jorginho in chelsea or arsenal shirt

Football regulations are a joke. City wouldn't even be allowed to play in any other Sport.
Vin Dijk does not keep Martinelli far away from the ball for Allison to get a good kick, you can see that the ball is behind Van Dijk and Allison obviously can't kick it, because Martinelli pushes him at the last moment closer to the ball...Gabi❤
Excellent analysis! I realised that Liverpool's plan was exploited by arsenal especially with vvd being tasked with marking odegaard. We saw the downside of that in Arsenal's 1st goal. Havertz's movement was excellent as well just easing (not rushing) himself into the space and almost disappeared out of sight for the liverpool defence
one quibble - you said early on that Havertz wasn't going to outrun VVD but Havertz is actually faster than VVD and indeed faster than Konate as he showed on the break later in the game. People dont take Havertz seriously but he is a serious player and while he looks awkward he has good physical gifts
whats the program that you use for the tactical preview and analysis?
James we are waiting for you're reply
Tell me if you find out
Without Conor Bradley and Endo, I knew we’d lose this game.
A couple of bits to add. The Liverpool centre backs were split so far and therefore exposed to cover for the way Liverpool play with Trent in the team. Also the nudge martinelli gave van dijk was cleverly timed, it not only stopped van dijk clearing the ball it also meant that Allison kicked van dijk before the ball.
I don’t know any of your background (as if we need any) but the breaking down of these matches is better than professionally paid TV pundits so. Keep it up, looking forward to more breakdowns
He's very good, supports qpr, I believe. Best guy around probably
I think a lot of people are sleeping on the return of Timber and Partey to this Arsenal team. I think these two players will make Arsenal a much more formidable squad. I think they will both be particularly important for the CL.
I don't think Timber will be massively involved this season. He still has two months before he's back and then another month at least to get match fit. And he's hyped too much. He's had one or two good games for Arsenal, that's all. He's a classy player, but I would not put him in front of White or Tomi in EPL or CL games this spring. He'll need time to gel, so he's for the next season I guess.
Liverpool desperately need players back, they are playing too many games and at some point it catches up to you that you cant use your best possible lineup and cant set the team up the way you want
Can't wait for Wataru to return.
Same
If you watch the video for the first goal you can see van dijk signalling for konate and Gomez to stay high for the offside line. Still a mistake, but makes his decision more understandable
Disappointing result but it was a long time coming with all the players we are missing at the moment.
The fact we are still top is testament to Klopp and multiple squad players stepping up.
But, we can't always rely on Klopp, VVD, and Alisson to save us and unfortunately it wasn't their game today.
Klopp had limited options but definitely went in with the wrong game plan. Need to go on a run now before hosting City.
back again. COYG. nice vid james
Such clever analysis. Liked how you explained the gap between gomez and konate for the first goal and its effect on allowing Havertz the space to run into!
It's always our most experienced players letting us down when we perform like this. It's pathetic, we haven't beaten a top team all season.
Great analysis, Liverpool weren’t at the races today, lock the wounds and on to the next
Blame Gomez
When Darwin doesn't play we lose
He did play
He played pretty well whole second half and did F all
@@joncieelmore8056 I'm meaning he does best when starting
De ja vu performance from the worst of last season with TAA again exposed at rb. Should've played Gomez and Robertson full backs and Trent in midfield. Plus Klopp's tactics inexplicable playing too high, too open as if Liverpool had to win the game. Arsenal compact behind the ball couldn't believe the naivety and lack of pragmatism from Klopp, going for the win instead of focus on the bigger picture. Failure to adapt and more defensive approach required in these big away games against quality opposition.
