Sir, it is obvious during your demonstration videos, that you are not only skilled in your undertakings, but you have a rare generous way of not keeping it to yourself. Your efforts serve to both encourage others to advance their own capabilities, but also promote safe and effective procedures. Hello from northern Vancouver Island.
Jay, you gave me the specs a few months back. I made myself a stand to your specs. Mine fits into the hitch receiver on my truck. It's long enough that my tailgate can be down as a work bench. And I made the height so that the tire is waist high. I take it with me to the races, etc. It works GREAT! Needless to say, I'm the tire change go to guy for my friends now too. Thanks Jay for your expert advice!
I was just thinking, could this be added to a hitch receiver. I used to have a hitch receiver bolted to my work bench. It would be nice to not have a huge stand for a weekend warrier.
I've seen way too many videos of you using one of your stands, they always looked like an unfair advantage! But now that you've finally spilled the beans and gave up the dimensions now I can build one for myself - as a thank you I've gone ahead and subscribed. Much appreciated!
I made mine with a donut spare wheel with a 2 3/8” pipe welded in center then plate w 5/8” spindle. Works nice, and tire keeps from scratching my epoxy floor while giving a decent base to step on. Then throw a piece of 2’x2’plywood with hole in middle and quarter round around perimeter on to have a nice mechanic table that rolls around real easy. Then tray with tools slips right off.
Great work Jay. I also built one of these stands from a screen shot of your video about a year ago. I found an old plow disc which I flipped upside down as a solid and heavy base. I also welded a pair of square tubes on the side to store my levers and tool's in during a change. Thanks for your great videos and keep up the good work.
I sent this video to one of my friends that runs a scrap yard, he welded up one of these stands for each of us. This stand design is absolutely awesome!
Thankyou very much. i will go to rocky mt and order one. i will not being doing that many tires. 3 bikes. yamaha TW200, yamaha R3, 2019 crf250. thanks love the show
I have been using an old 30 gallon empty oil drum with a old air hose split down the middle and put on the top of its rim for the last 35 years. works well for me at no cost solution. on the road I use a empty 5 gallon bucket with the same split hose on the rim.
Love your videos, just recently found your channel and im watching everything, My son races Amateur MX in 2 states, in the 85 class, so all you videos are handy, Thank you Sir!
Thats what I used. Grabbed one out of the kitchen lol.. I used a coffee can lid to stencil the circle, cut it with a jig saw and sanded the edge smooth.
I used the old rotor rom my truck welded a 2” square tube upright on it then took some scrap flat stock welded some thread all to it bam tire changer. That I can remove the top install a grinder on it and multiple other tools and since it’s a rotor from my truck it’s pretty stable and rolls around the floor easily and will tuck away in a small place so it saves a bunch of floor space in the garage
I've always just clamped a threaded rod in my vice and run a nut on it for the difficult wheels. Don't have a lot of space for a dedicated stand. Only disadvantage is it's a little bit high but I only change tires 2-3 times a year.
For anybody wondering. I just built this thing in aluminum and it weighs exactly 13lb and cost $135 CAD at a local metal supermarket. Retail supply cost. Plus $21 for the cutting board discs.
Hey Jay, what are your opinions on a Rabaconda or similar "tire changer"? After watching your videos, it seems to me like the key to a quick tire change is the stand. I'm under the impression that the reason why the Rabaconda is so popular is that it's just a good tire stand. Curious to see what you think, because it looks like you can change a tire with your simple stand just as fast as any of the guys I've watched with a Rabaconda.
I would get a scrap steel wheel & Tire as the base and find an axle shaft the bolts right into the wheel. Cut the axle to the correct length and then turn down on a lathe. Weld a small shoulder to set UHMW plate
Hi Jay, I've searched but can't find a video on your channel of you fitting mousses. I'm a newbie of a few years and your videos have helped me 'master' fitting tyres and tubes. I'm now considering trying a mousse and was wondering what your method of fitting is. Thanks John
A very nice tire stand My son can weld and his daughter and son are into motocross Was wondering if I could get the specs to help. Them build one of these stands Thank you for your channel I enjoy each episode
Update: I built a custom stand using UHMW 3/4 thick for the turntable, and a 3/4 thick centre post. Welded, painted, drilled for a grinder stand. Great expectations. BUT the Honda CRF300l requires the centre post to be 5/8, not 3/4. So back to the shop, get new materials, and build an additional one. I made jigs to cut the UHMW and the 24 inch stand floor base on the tablesaw, using the centre pin method of circle cutting.
@@dirtbiketv1 I’m on the other side of the pond, I don’t know how many people from my country follow you and I don’t want to trouble you. I did sold the first one I’ve made. I’ve made the top part from a 1/2” drive socket extension which I got for 3$, the plastic base was 14$, the steel for the vertical piece was 18$ for 20ft and for the foot print was 13$ for 20ft.

Hello Jay, I really appreciate your awesome videos and I show them as high school power sports instructor. I email you though your web site requesting the drawings for the tire changing stand and couple of weeks ago and still have not received a response. I sent another one today and thank you for you willingness to share.

Just put one of these together for my son. Thank you very much for sending the drawings!

That's freaking genius!!!

Nice!
A good tire stand is worth it’s weight in gold!
Having a buddy with a stand and epic tire ninja skills is priceless!!!😉
😂

Very nice. Thanks for sharing Jay. I had some scrap pieces of steel laying around the shop, and TIG welded it all up myself, works excellent!

I bought one online and it’s wobbly and cheap. It got the job done but won’t last long!
Having a good stand makes a world of difference.
I picked up the Amazon/ebay/harbor freight version pretty cheap and will modify it according to what you have here. Great info thanks 👍
Good thing I have a great scrap steel pile. I'll be saving this video for sure
This seems to be a must have for anyone who changes tires regularly and cant afford the 25.00 per wheel charge
In my area it’s $75 a wheel.

Thank you!! Good luck to your boy.
You can use a old cutting board so it doesn't scratch the hub
Was just going to say this. That old cutting board material is very slippery and won't scratch.
HDEP is the material chopping boards are made from

I’m pretty sure you’re an even 5’6” on a good day. Thanks for showing this but think it would be a cool deal to make like 50 for your fav peeps
Lame
I tried 😂
“I’m really strong and this is heavy” 🤣 that made me laugh
LOL -- glad you like that
Nice video! I have thought about makimg my own stand. Now I have some reference material. I'm a fabricator so this should be a nice project. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
you have not ideal how helpful this video is for me! thanks a million!

For easier storing I think I will build it so the vertical tube fits over a smaller tube. This way I can separate for a lesser footprint while stored.

Subscribed and liked for inspiring me to build a stand, made tire changing so much easier.

I'm sitting here eyeing an under-used HF "manual tire machine" wondering if I can weld/fab an adapter for it. ;) Thanks for the videos, Jay!
Thank you man for share with us your expertise I hop meet you one day you help this sport to keep growing

Already made two of this after screenshotting one of your videos.

Could make a strong stand using
black or galvanized pipe.
Thanks fir the video.
A cheap cutting board works great for the plastic piece. Can be cut easily with a jig saw.
Good stuff here Jay. I'm thinking a used office chair would be a good start for a base. Time to do some dumpster diving.
Cool
These are complicated to build but nice. Thanks for the design.
Those are some pretty nice stands Jay! Who built those for you?
Me! Oh wait- BC and just my design.
Thanks.Today's project.
all those sprokets on the wall are for decrative porpouses or use them for something else?
Is there a carbon fiber foldable version for the trail pack?
😂
Epic vid. Might make one myself
Thanks heaps for the plans, gunna build one next week! Just curious in what thickness is the tube steel? 1mm, 2mm? Cheers boys 🍻
I would think 2mm be good
Jay, have you done or will you do a how to on Tubliss?
Hi there will it possible to get the plans
Email us-- -- Its in the bio here or my site or IG --

Email me for the new drawings
Not sure, did Jay post the measurements for this?
Thanks
sorry -- I just saw they all--
What about using old tire rim and disk rotor
That's crazy simple.
Thank you Sir!
Were the dimensions ever posted or perhaps a drawing?

A Kawasaki 250, 300, 400 wheel will not fit on that 3/4” center post without removing the bearings. 15mm front, 17mm rear.
I like to get specs plz for the stand I would like to have one built for my shop I have at home
For sure-- you gotta email me- at the about and contact of my TH-cam or my IG or website all have it- Thanks

Anyone change the angle from 75* to something else for the legs?
Ha, I've been using a milk crate since there 80's.
Better man than me :-)
7 and 1/2".....The perfect length!! That's what I told her. 🤣🤣🤣
Sir pano po ba ma gawo yan po
Isn't it better if it's lower so you can press the tire with your knee...???
🤔
Personally.....I think garbage cans make great tire repair stands, seriously, try it.
5'6...
😆
Come-on man, what’s the subject matter... is it the tire changing stand or the narrator? 👍 for the FYI but 👎 for the video production!
