I love the fact that it seemed like they followed traditional western STORY telling structure, as opposed to song structure. 3 acts, all building off eachother in arcs, ending in a dramatic climax. Very interesting.
I swear to God the first time I heard this song and realized it was Chokehold lyrics at the end, I got so f*cking emotional, it was like the story reach its full circle. This song (and the whole album actually) is a rollercoaster of emotions

Anyone else think this heavy part at the end is supposed to represent Vessel killing Sleep? The background vocals doing the callback to Chokehold make me think he uh.....yeah.
I relate so hard to this. It's been since Slipknot for me. I never thought any band would come close to that territory for me and Sleep Token zoomed well past them before I even knew it. Their music has literally changed and enriched my life.

Love the album but Vore isn't a big one for me. They mute his screams down too much in the beginning and I just can't understand what he's saying. The others you mentioned are my tops though
I was never really into softer music that much, I listen to metal for over 10 years now and never thought I would genuinely enjoy the soft style of any Band. I can not explain it but Sleep Token just does it for me, I love the soft parts and I also love the hard parts, there are of course some songs I like more than others but overall I dont think I heard any song from Sleep Token and was like, nah thats just not for me, they are all nice in their own way. I discovered them about 2 months ago with The Summoning (I think many have) and I just went down the rabbit hole for those 2 months and cant stop listening to them, this has never happened before and Sleep Token even tho I know them for such a short time have done something to me, no other Band has ever done. Also most of the Sleep Token community is just so nice and welcoming, I am glad I can be a part of that as well now. Worship
This is going to sound out of left-field, but have you ever tried listening to Opeth? They don't have especially R&B stuff in their songs like ST, but they are very-VERY good at the Light/Dark transitions and storytelling.
This song is like 4 different song styles they have expertly woven into each other to make a masterpiece of the modern day. I love this song so much. Definitely added to the playlist.

I predict that "Take Me Back to Eden" will be legendary work equal to those on the "Dark Side of the Moon". This album is a work of art although I have been deep diving them, got all of their stuff even the early EP's and They have some awesome songs on everything they have put out. Phenomenal band with Tool buzz but they have their own vibe. Vessell is a freaking poet, from what I have heard a freakish musician. I was drawn in by the drummer at first being a drummer when I was a teenager, but once you're in you're hooked. They take you to a higher consciousness especially musically. The more than you listen to them, the better they sound. That's some genius ch*t right there.
This is my favorite song on the album. I've been completely obsessed with this band ever since I learned about them. In fact, I put this album up there with Raekwon's Cuban Linx and The Roots' Illadelph Halflife. I'm a huge hip hop head, but also love metal and Sleep Token is just incredible to me. I think I've watched 2's Drumeo episode 13 times by now haha. Thanks for the video Polo!!

Amazing reaction polo. Sleep Token's music is special and therapeutic for alot of people, Vessel's voice is unreal and his songwriting is poetic. My album of the year. Worship.
entire track is incredible but for me it's the 3 occurrences of the chorus lines getting gradually more and more full/grandiose/powerful. By the time the last one hits you HAVE to sing along. Vessel also turning the lyrics around towards the end to become self empowering instead of negative is just lovely. "No amount of love will keep it around if we don't choose it." Triumphant stuff.
My sons LOVE Sleep Token and we sing it all the time. They want to do Aqua Regia for their 1st Grade talent show (with some lyrics changes, obviously).

One thing about this song that I have just realized and now will not ever shut up about is the fact that the chorus CHANGES ITS MEANING every time its sung. First verse: Both Vessel and Sleep were lost. No one told Sleep where to go, no one told Vessel not to breathe in the water. They're both lost First Chorus: Someone, somewhere, something please pull me out of this water. Help me, I am drowning. Second verse: Depression, isolation, the rooms I'm in feel like a meat freezer and I'm the cold cuts hanging around inside them. I'm just there, hanging around, not doing anything but existing. Even my "mirror talk", the things I say to myself, even that is just fake love. Maybe Sleep does actually help me in these moments? Second chorus: Maybe Sleep can take me back to Eden. Maybe Sleep is the way to go. Third verse/bridge: Introspection. Realizing that maybe Sleep wasn't the solution. Maybe all of this was wrong. I would love if you could react to Wax Wings by Periphery it's such a great song! I feel you may really love their catalogue if you give them a go. Another good Sleep Token song to listen to would be Ascensionism or Are You Really Okay?! Music is great these days in the sense that it doesn't matter about a band/artist/whatever is in what genre. As long as the music appeals to you and you enjoy it, then that's all that matters.
Rain and Euclid are bad ass on this new album!!! But check out Higher, Alkaline, Blood Sport and Jaws!! You will love them!! They are prog metal like Tool, but do have a more Nerdcore lyrical style. Tons of chemistry and physics stuff. You will love them!! So excited to watch you go down this rabbit hole like I loved watching your Tool rabbit hole!!

Euclid is the end of the trilogy of albums and make references to the very first song on their first full length album.. vessel is a fucking genius....
I have a bias towards Noah and Bad Omens as the best metalcore band with the best lead vocalist right now but man Vessel is something else and the drummer II is my favourite drummer of all time the guy has so much energy
i get the sense that their guitar tones are very heavily inspired by Meshuggah, definitely should check them out if you haven’t already. killer guitar/drum parts and very wacky vocals that are more of a rhythm instrument than traditional singing styles

It’s a baritone 7 string guitar I believe, can hit the low notes without losing the tone
