Surely one of the best light 8's to be cast in the last 20 or 30 years! Superb!

What an absolutely delightful 8 and some cracking ringing too, only a few clips.

What Bellfounder do you think this sounds like Steve?

@@RingerThomas a good question and of course these bells are Italian but a profile by Matthew Highby and locally tuned
They have a very mellow sound to them
If they had been Whitechapel bells which sadly closed they would have had much more of a brighter sound which Whitechapel trebles had.
They are lovely bells, perhaps they remind me of old Gillett and Johnston bells.
It's nice to think there is a new kid on the block producing bells.

@@Steven_Rowe I would like to make my own bell profile someday. I would do it of Mark 1 Mears. And 1930s to 1950s Taylor’s. I would probably make the trebles more powerful and the tenors roar. What profile would you do if you had your own foundry?

@@RingerThomas well my dad was a bell hanger for Whitechapel.
He along with Bill Theobald hung Bow, he also hung Cornhill which he thought was a disaster with bells too heavy and they sounded like old pots.
Dad had a saying Whitechapel for trebles and Taylor's for tenors.
There is no doubt Whitechapel 8s say up to around 15cwt are brilliant, chirpy and joyful
I think if I could have a heavy 12 I would have say 6 Whitechapel trebles and let Taylor handle the big boys.
I think I would also want to know if prewar Taylor tenors had a different profile as the those prewar tenors had a depth a roar and a glow that is truly magical.

@@Steven_Rowe I would experiment with Mark 3 Whitechapel trebles and Mark 1 tenors. A good example of mark 1 is St Mary Le bow. With the trebles having sharp quints creating a zingy sound. I don’t think Taylor’s and Whitechapel would match very well. However you could have the front six at St Mary’s and the back six at St. Andrews Sydney and mix them together. Sutton Benhilton are a fine example of a middle sized Whitechapel eight.

Am I noticing mark 2 Whitechapel?
