Ahhh shit no Minneapolis shows?! Minneapolis would absolutely love you!!! We have such a wonderful and big music scene here and if you do (I mean I'm just some nobody and random dude on TH-cam haha but) I have tons of connections with venues, other bands, promoters ect!!! Keep up the amazing work you are doing! Peace and Love sister!
Her acoustics are really where it's at. The beauty of her voice almost gets glazed over in the full production pieces, as good as they may sound in of themselves. They get almost overproduced and, while definitely sounding unique, seem more akin to something on the modern radio (while being nowhere near as bland, lol). These small type recordings are the reason I, and a good chunk of her fans, fell in love with her. This sounds gorgeous, sing it Sierra.
I agree, her album was overproduced. This recording shows the beauty of her voice, the clarity of her instruments, and samples the style of her music. I love it. I hope all your recordings are this style.
@@sleepinggorilla they want an acoustic album not a full band album - a lot of people want to have studio recordings of her performing with just her and guitar/ or her and a more bluegrass style instrumentation without percussion and much production. Her album is amazing though - love it from beginning to end.
@@JabezGill I understand the appeal of an acoustic album, but her full album brought us Bells of Every Chapel with Billy Strings. I trust her to do what's right 🤣
Lovely, simply lovely. Strong voice, full of niuanses, ups and downs with hipnotyc voice sound. Folk - blues from 40-ies Star was born long time ago, but star is stil not recognized word wide. Shame on music industry.
To cover Ray Lamontagne is great. To cover Ray Lamontagne well is divine. Stripping it down to its Americana roots and finding a brand new song within it was a beautiful choice by Ms. Ferrell.
I think so too. Anything beyond her quitar does nothing to improve the experience. Her voice, timing and phrasing is sublime. Bob Dylan had the same thing going on in the early 60's but there will be pressure to orchestrate for a wider audience. Many people want to stomp their feet more than they are able to sit and listen.
Don’t know why people are criticizing this recorded version. Ferrell is a consummate performer. Her tone is quite different from the live version (the one where she sits in a chair?). Ferrell’s voice is higher pitched and a bit less laid back in this version. But it’s still the same song. Just different. Gorgeous.
Tonight was the first time I have heard this song. I've listened to it about 24 times to make sure that I liked it as much as I thought I did. And I did.
Was thinking about going to bed since it's 1 in the morning, but hearing Sierra's sweet voice in a new tune has me ready to start a brand new day ☀️. Keep it up Sierra, your talent is beautiful. Thank you for blessing us with great music.
Lyrics: Papa's in the kitchen Mama's in the field Murder in the hen house, mud flung high upon the hill Oh, rooster in the dooryard, just leaning on the horn With the wind so sweetly blowing through the ripening corn Hey me Hey Mama Where you been For so long, for so long? Hey me Hey Mama Where you been? Where you been for so long? There's something outrageous 'bout that evening sky Just this side of dangerous, that look in your eye Knew you were crazy, always knew you could be cruel Still, I would do just about anything in the world for you Hey me Hey Mama Where you been For so long, for so long? Hey me Hey Mama Where you been? Where you been for so long? Left me standing in the corner with my head hanging down Punch-drunk, busted up, and reeling like a rodeo clown You always seem to hit me like a lightning from above Guess, I just wasn't ready for such a heavy-handed love Hey me Hey Mama Where you been, oh, now For so long, for so long? Hey me Hey Mama Where you been? Where you been for so long?
Saw you at the burrito bar a few years back and never stopped listening. I work at the mines near pax and it amazes me to this day how many fellow miners have never heard of you right down the freaking road! NFA Sierra!!
Brilliant departure from the professionally produced Nashville studio sounds of Long Time Coming. Her imperfect guitar technique works so naturally and the little mistakes or muffed notes here and there not only make the song sound so much better and real as if she's sitting on the sofa next to you, but it makes you focus on that voice and notice the complete command she has. Sierra is in her own league. Cannot get enough of her music and mojo.
This is what I wish your debut album sounded like! But don't take that as criticism--do whatever makes YOU happy. I just love this style and you do it so very well,
I'm a huge Ray Lamontagne fan , but I must say I like the way you sing this song better. That says a lot ...because Ray is fantastic. My brother took me to my first Ray Lamontagne concert 11 years ago. He passed away in January. He would have loved your music and we would have been going to your upcoming tour with Ray for sure.
I have been exploring Sierra Ferrell tunes since I saw a couple of live recordings on youtube. Amazing stuff, I am hooked. One of those very rare artists that sound so much better in a live setting vs produced on a record.
Damn this is a good track! Had the good luck to see her in NYC last year. Go see her. She's got the full boat: pipes, personality, and some great pickin'.
Sierra, wonderful rendition of Ray's tune. My wife and I loved seeing you in Columbia, MO and are looking forward to seeing you again soon! I just leave your signed album on the turntable, now I just need to get it to flip over and repeat by itself!
Such a touchingly beautiful song and performance with your stunningly gorgeous voice that captivates to no end!!!!!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful gift 🔥❗
I'm heading out on tour soon! Come see me in a venue near you. Grab your tickets here: sierraferrellmusic.com/tour

To each their own. I find her album to be beautifully produced, with so many talented guests.
@@montysano Oh I agree, I love the talent behind it. Something about the mix just doesn't do it for me though, unfortunately.

Her voice is made to be pressed into vinyl 💜
This type of recording suits her the best, in my opinion. With minimal means, she punches out the maximal effects. She's just amazing.

Sierra and Ray.. two of my greatest loves
I agree that her voice is unique and beautiful but in addition to that her style of singing adds a lot of feeling to the lyrics. She's just so good.
it's extremely dynamic
No B.S. - just raw music. She's a force of nature.

Sierra’s a true one her songs are sung from the heart which makes it real country music ❤️
an angelic voice of love, life and sorrow truly something missing in Nashville so called country. This is country music at its best.
All these artist should do a massive album together with their own songs and styles
Hope The next Record sounds like this!
BABE WAKE UP NEW SIERRA FERRELL MUSIC!
Where's this voice been ! Love every bit!
Dope. Nice chicken.
This is a good tune to smoke a cigarette in a -30 Canadian winter.
If John Prine was still with us I think he would have a soulmate in Sierra Ferrell.
Can barely believe Ms Ferrell is playing at a bar on my street later in the year. It feels like having Patsy Cline appear at the local tavern.
