this is so cute. I remember when I was about 14 I would take clothing from family members and transform it into clothing for me, as I got older and had children of my own I did the same thing when I could.

Wow nothing is wasted, thumbs up for that. For the people who are confused, I understand what you mean. If you don't have any concept in sewing or never sew in your life, make small project first and move on to bigger stuff. She is very skilful, because it is so perfectly done. Thanks for the video.

You Are very skilled & talented. For us people who don't share these incredible talents, it's not so easy! I do have a sewing machine but it's very basic & not capable of doing half of these operations. If I would attempt this, I would end up hand sewing most of it as my old machine just wouldn't cope ! Without a pattern I wouldn't even attempt this anyway! It's clear that you are a professional seamstress & a very good one too. So this is definitely not for us mere mortals who don't do this for a living or have your skills. Thank you for showing us your ideas though 😊

This would be recycled here in Michigan. Beautiful intact shirt was a keeper.
Beth, this shirt was recycled. Perhaps it's for her grandchild. Perhaps it's a print that she truly loves from a family member and she wanted to make it into something for a grandchild or her own personal child but that shirt was definitely recycled and she used almost every piece of it.

There is so much in this world that can be repurposed instead of tossed away. Many people don't even donate it, they just toss it in the trash. Great video. I think this is targeted at sewists with some experience. You don't have to be an expert, but I think it helps to have enough experience to recognize how basic pattern shapes and how they go together, what bias binding is, etc.

Most home sewers cannot follow you.
There is no monetary value in using an old shirt in your design and creation.
3/4 hours labor is not a saving when a comparable garment from NEW fabric can be purchased for less than ONE hour wage. Your $$$$ is in your designs!
Everyone pays for unique design!
Please pay attention to finishing details such as making sure plaid lines are exactly matched and finishing details include high end buttons and hooks and eyes. Your skills will be $$$ appreciated by high-end boutiques and you will have a great future in couturier design. Forget trying to recycle old shirts! Practice your hand finishing! Best wishes from an old experienced couturier dressmaker. 👍❤️
