In Brave New World, outside the city are the people who live a more traditional way. Im wondering if Huxley is using biblical imagry from Revelation where the wicked are outside the city. In Huxley those outside the camp almost seem virtuous to our ears, but are seen as dirty and disgusting to those in the book (a reversal from the biblical example). Orwell paints an involuntary totalitarian society, but Huxley shows a voluntary totalism. The two types of behavioral conitioning (negative reinforcement and positive reinforcement).
I believe Technocracy developed as a worldview around this time also.
I could never really tell if Aldous was a advocate or a critic of his world. In A brave new world revisited Aldous is certainly critical of subversion by governmnts.

I suspect it's rather the influence of Zamyatin's 'We'. The fundamental similarity of their worlds is striking.

Orwell denied the influence but it is rather striking.

@@LitProf You mean, Huxley? Orwell, AFAIK, _alleged_ the influence of _We_ on Huxley. We probably won't know the truth, but no matter, both novels are great.

Sorry about my grammar. It's terrible. im always outside on a device trying to interact with such heavy topics lol
The effects of Huxley and darwins treatment of matter as almost devine substances but then deny it obviously has a different effect on Europe than America up until early 1900s .
Academics following this path has profound influence on how other interpretations are made in other disciplines .
Where is the fall of man ,in himself or in nature itself becomes entangled in this.
Which Newtons 1st position pretending a clocklike solar system where Einstein does just that 2nd position
Has a very different outcome than when you just treat Einstein as 1st position as well..
    😊

Just even in how teaching and speaking challenges occur inadvertently.
To say emerging energetic actors are definable. We just need to know the lattus structure and few critical extreme states.
As opposed to the environment dictating particles & they're lattus structures.
These are very different interpretations of the samething but with profound implications in other avenues

On the surface, it's two sides of the same coin, but when academics structurally align on the later its just one generation away from not getting this and ideas desputing the meaning or life or free will as it was so tied to the eternal cosmos floor are made despite subtle inadvertent confusion taking place.

Did you say Huxley and C.S. Lewis both died on Nov. 22 1963? Someone else famous also died that day.
