I like this kind of video since it is raw and less edit. You also give us infos that are helpful for foreign vloggers and Filipino locals who really have no idea about the history of the Philippines. Cheers mate, hope your stay in the Philippines is going to be fun and exciting. Keep it up mate ☺️
Nice videos! I'm a new subscriber. Just a tip, If you and your friend are touring on a very crowded place, wear your bags infront of you to protect your belongings. Filipinos are very welcoming to visitors but there are also always some bad apples mixed in the crowds.
Welcome to the Philippines! As a a local, I appreciate how you try to engage with the locals that you meet along the way. It lends a chill and spontaneous vibe to your video. I also like how you're open to trying out the street foods that we have. Btw, I've watched your Intramuros video yesterday and geez, the distance you have covered by walking from Pedro Gil to Intra is insane. The heat alone would discourage me from doing that. Anyway, have fun exploring the metro.

Great video Josh 💙 The electrical lines is also known as spaghetti wires 😂 The first one you had is actually Filipino/Spanish pastry which is called empanada. One of the favorite Philippines drink is Mango Shake or juice. Also you might wanna try the famous delicious ube (purple yam). It could be a drink, ice cream, bread fillings. Take care and enjoy your adventures in the 🇵🇭.
Just a tip, instead of saying "Kamusta ka", use "Kamusta po" which is more a polite greeting. Adding "Po", especially at the end of questions shows politeness.
Love how your channel is finally growing. Hope youd get more subscribers. I Followed you when you only had 2 videos uploaded. Cant wait for the rest of your vlogs. ❤😊
Quite interesting videos I’ve ever watched, I’m from Philippines but I never been that side of Manila. Love watching your vlogs . Take care and be careful with your journey.
Hi josh, i really love watching your vlog because your look and smile brings positive vibes. You are really trying to speak tagalog. We filipino appreciate it so much😊 keep it up. Enjoy the philippines and take care always🤗
That "vege select" is one of the best, it is actually a Buddhist restaurant.. I used to live near chinatown, i grew up there basically..The ones that are commonly seen on youtube or are mostly introduced to foreigners or local tourists are just "so-so" and cheap restos where local tourist can afford,.. When in chinatown find where those grandpa eat.
Hats off to you for enduring the hot weather which is quite odd since usually when it's the "BER" months here in the Philippines, it should not be this hot like summer. I'm born and raised here in the PH for 43 years now and I can't see myself wandering outside because it's exhausting. lol But again cheers to you mate for being real. hehe
Instead of "Kamusta ka" (which is NOT wrong) - try saying instead, "Kamusta po". The former is more of a direct question. The later is more of a polite way to just say a general greeting equivalent to "how are you" or "how's it going". So - either"Kamusta po!" or "Kamusta po kayo". Safe travels.
Will be making the trip to the Philippines from the UK for the first time in the new year, if it's even half as welcoming as in your videos I'll be over the moon👍☺
Take note when ordering: small size = mallit, just a little/few = konti. Glad you’re enjoying! You didn’t go to the Estero (creek) where they serve the famous frog legs.
Those dumplings looked so good! 🥟 and the steamed bun! love just sitting on the street to have them too Awesome video bro, looking forward to these costumes in the next one!
wow .I was astounded that you could stand the scorching heat. As a warning, don't be overly trusting while you go around Manila or any other cities here in the Phils. Always keep your stuff in front of you.

Hi, i think this the beginning of your travel vlogging journey starting in the Philippines, you'll probably exploring other countries ahead of time. Enjoy the Philippines and Manila anyways😊😊😊
I knew you like Mac from World Nomac! You sometimes do the "hmm hmm hmm" trait that he always do when eating or drinking and it is very nice! I have always been a fan of him and now it made me like you more. Keep it up!
Yeah ,because Filipinos love to watch foreigners enjoying their stay here in the Philippines..........." Josh , kumusta ka na po " ...,..new subscriber here in Dvo city.......
If you are still in Manila try to visit San Sebastián church ,it’s made of steel built in 1861,almost all sidewalk vendors uses ice from tap water without filtration even restaurant unless you are in a 5 star hotel
"MABUHAY" is commercial slogan of the Philippine Airlines that got to become a greeting but its not. It's a word thats like for the British saying "Long Live The King". We do not have hello in our vocabulary so "Kumusta" or como estas in spanish. Or you greet with the expression of the time of day like "Magandang umaga" in the morning or say "Magandang Araw" meaning good day, you can use this also as you leave.
@@TheJourneyofJosh only in the Philippines. By the way, I am a Filipino and I used to work for the NHS in London. Have fun. Don't leave Philippines untill you in 100K then come back for million.

There's two translation of Little, one is "maliit" for describing an object, the other one is "konti" for measurement. then you add "lang" after that word. Maliit lang/konti lang = just small/just a little.
@@TheJourneyofJosh seems like you're tired answering these comments about mistranslating and misusing Tagalog words since your videos are pre-recorded. I can't help it myself but glad you're at least learning.

i appreciate, and it amazes me, that in your short period of staying, you can speak some common tagalog words. its a good show of humility…Many foreign youtubers have stayed in Ph for many years, yet they still stick to talking pure english..it kind a irked me… in my opinion, staying that very long and not trying to learn the language, just at least the greetings, common daily words, .. is sort a discriminating hence kind ofdisrespectful..so thank you for being humble learning our language.
Josh at 0:26 you caught the Manila Central Post Office in the background. It was severely damaged in a fire last May, which is really unfortunate because it's a historical site, first built in 1928.
I was born and raised in Chinatown way back 1966. The only left original is the Binondo church and Santa Cruz Church. A lot of old building was demolished and there are lots of new building now. The Chinese dishes before was very authentic because mostly the chef came from china. 😮take care of your belongings, camera and your pockets and most of all eat a lot ❤
Goo day Josh....I would like to suggest you try to check out some Authentic Filipino Food... like pure Filipino food without any fusion....Maybe it will interests you...One big example is Bulalo on Tagaytay or Cansi in Bacolod City....look forward to you all of your Journey...Take Care....Enjoy here
Thank you Josh for promoting the culture of the Phil. If you wish to visit Leyte , inform me , my house is open for you both , of course i offer it for free . There is a lot of beautiful historical /places in Leyte . More power and God bless.

Sometime ago cebu city was capital of philipines, and its the colder season in ph now only 32 c not 36 c in nay😊 you should try tapsilog for breakfast , its nice. Manlia is so noisy in some areas. I was in divisoria this year.

It's ok that you take precaution about what you eat or drink. But I would like to say that the cold drinks sold in the streets of Manila comes from treated or chlorinated tap water. There some establishment that will give you filtered water to take away the taste of chlorine.
Rare to find stray dogs in Manila because its illegal not to have them on a leash when outside. Dogs you find iastray might have been abandoned ones, or might have come from illegal vendors around

Anyways, i love how you are getting around Manila finding positive vibes and spreading it to everyone. It can be chaotic totally different vibes from western cities. Its slowly changing, getting better. Have great fun exploring Manila.
Positive vibes all the way! The chaos is what makes it fun 😍

Thanks for the tips! I only keep water in my bag though don’t worry ☺️
@@TheJourneyofJosh That's good to know! Enjoy the Philippines and keep safe always! 🙂
You have lots of similarities with mac of worldnomac, always smiling, friendly and uttering Tagalog phrases. We Filipinos love it! Keep it going.
Thank you for sharing this interesting video Sir staysafe and enjoy your day vlogging 😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello Josh, I’m your new subscriber from California, thank you for visiting my country Philippines.. god bless and more subscribers to come!❤
California? Wow, must be nice there! Thanks so much for the support ❤️

I’ve been binge watching your Ph vlogs! Welcome josh! Enjoyy
Thank you! ❤️ I can see why 😂 the pastry was delicious! I’m not a massive fan of ube or taro Im afraid 😞 I’ve tried a few times to like it
Just a tip, instead of saying "Kamusta ka", use "Kamusta po" which is more a polite greeting. Adding "Po", especially at the end of questions shows politeness.
Thanks for the tip! I know this now but these videos are pre recorded 😅 so I will do better in the future!
I'm waiting for your next video I already watched all of your videos
Love how your channel is finally growing. Hope youd get more subscribers. I Followed you when you only had 2 videos uploaded. Cant wait for the rest of your vlogs. ❤😊
Very much appreciated saskia! Happy to have you here on the Journey ❤️
Quite interesting videos I’ve ever watched, I’m from Philippines but I never been that side of Manila. Love watching your vlogs . Take care and be careful with your journey.
Welcome to the Philippines! Thanks for showing the world our people and culture. Safe travels!
Love it! Look forward to the next!
Fancy seeing you here! Thanks Megs 💖
Hi josh, i really love watching your vlog because your look and smile brings positive vibes. You are really trying to speak tagalog. We filipino appreciate it so much😊 keep it up. Enjoy the philippines and take care always🤗
That "vege select" is one of the best,
it is actually a Buddhist restaurant..
I used to live near chinatown, i grew up there basically..The ones that are commonly seen on youtube or are mostly introduced to foreigners or local tourists are just "so-so" and cheap restos where local tourist can afford,.. When in chinatown find where those grandpa eat.
Sounds amazing! I will go there next time I’m in Binondo
Enjoy in the Philippines josh and I’m the one subscribers for you and keep in safe two both of your friends 🙏😇
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me 😇
You remember the kid called Danny, from Star City? Yep, this is me. Wish you the best of the future of your channel.
Am amazed with your stamina, walking under the heat of the sun & vlogging. Good luck & stay safe.
21:56 that siopao looks well made and delicious, I miss them 🤤🤤🤤

I just Finished Watching Your Video On my TV …..😂😅And Now Watching it From my IPhone 😂 without skipping Ads Greeting From California ✌️👍👍👍👍👌🙏🙌
Wow California, amazing! Thanks so much for the support 😇 hope it looks good on the TV 😂
Sure was a mental day this! But filled with delicious food 😋
Not bad for a new vlogger because you're almost at 4k. Nice contents.
17.1K subscribers as of now.
Hats off to you for enduring the hot weather which is quite odd since usually when it's the "BER" months here in the Philippines, it should not be this hot like summer. I'm born and raised here in the PH for 43 years now and I can't see myself wandering outside because it's exhausting. lol But again cheers to you mate for being real. hehe
Thanks for visiting our country! Stay safe!
I know this now but these videos are pre recorded so can’t do much about it 😅 I will do better next time, thanks for the tips
He can only use “po” if the person is older than him.
@@TheJourneyofJosh Or just a simple "kumusta?" will do. "Kumusta ka" sounds awkward.
I’m 62 and I still say “po” to people younger than me just to be polite.
You can say "po" to all actually, it's a way of respecting the person you are talking to. I don't think it's really age specific nowadays.
OMG Josh you're such a prolific vlogger. You've literally been everywhere hahaha
I enjoyed it
Good vibes, love watching your video ❤😊
Thank you so much Mary ☺️❤️
Will be making the trip to the Philippines from the UK for the first time in the new year, if it's even half as welcoming as in your videos I'll be over the moon👍☺
waiting for more upload :)
One more coming tomorrow 😜

I went to Binondo alot, Its so nice.
Cantt wait for u to leave Mnl its very crowded there. You should see Cebuuuuuu, Palawan, Boracay, and Siargao Josh!!!
Take note when ordering: small size = mallit, just a little/few = konti. Glad you’re enjoying! You didn’t go to the Estero (creek) where they serve the famous frog legs.
new subscriber here..hope youre having fun on your travels...
Those dumplings looked so good! 🥟 and the steamed bun! love just sitting on the street to have them too
Awesome video bro, looking forward to these costumes in the next one!
They were! Reminded me off what we used to eat in 2019 😉 youre gunna love the costume one haha
wow .I was astounded that you could stand the scorching heat. As a warning, don't be overly trusting while you go around Manila or any other cities here in the Phils. Always keep your stuff in front of you.
The way you pronounced “magandang hapon” in the beginning sounds like “beautiful Japanese” instead of good afternoon. But good one mate.
Really? 😅😂 Maybe I was addressing my Japanese viewers 😜 Thanks mate! I’m trying my best 😂
@@TheJourneyofJosh all good. Filipinos can understand even if you mispronounce words. The language is forgiving.
Your aura is so positive and vibrant... The reason why we subscribed. Keep the energy and stick with what you love to do. It resonates... Much love from the Philippines. Hope one day you can visit Iloilo City. We are awarded by UNESCO as the gastronomy capital of the Philippines. We are located in the heart of the country and known to be the friendliest city and people. This is the City of love.
That’s such a sweet thing to say, thank you 🙏 I will definitely visit Iloilo at some point ❤️
Hi, i think this the beginning of your travel vlogging journey starting in the Philippines, you'll probably exploring other countries ahead of time. Enjoy the Philippines and Manila anyways😊😊😊
Like how you show the friendly side of Manila other people make out like it’s scary and dangerous. God bless

Awesome vlogging dude, do a lot of research and mind you even learn the filipino language , so raw , happy with that....enjoy and stay safe.
Glad you enjoyed! More to come 😊 thanks so much!
Congratulations 🎉 keep interacting with locals it’s good for the vlog.
That’s the plan! 😇
I knew you like Mac from World Nomac! You sometimes do the "hmm hmm hmm" trait that he always do when eating or drinking and it is very nice! I have always been a fan of him and now it made me like you more. Keep it up!
Yeah I noticed myself doing that 😅 not intentional 😂 thanks so much for the kind words
Can not go wrong with binondo food!
The channel is new but vlog like a pro. Enjoy your journey mate.
That’s very kind of you to say, thank you 🙏
Yeah ,because Filipinos love to watch foreigners enjoying their stay here in the Philippines..........." Josh , kumusta ka na po " ...,..new subscriber here in Dvo city.......
Davao City? Awesome! I need to visit there! Thanks for supporting 😍
Need to go to the red light district, mate!!! Nice seeing foreigner visiting the Philippines!
Not really my kind of thing but thanks mate! 😄
That kuchay ah pie doesnt have meat but it tastes so savory. It has water chestnuts and tofu. It goes well with their stirfried noodles
Gud evening!👋😉 Shout out😁 here from manila👍
Good evening po! Nice to see you
From 300 to 1,500 to 3 thousands in 3 days. Wow, you are doing great. Keep it up.
It’s crazy! Thanks so much for the kind words ☺️

I've watched all your vids. Must say, you walk like you sped up the video 2.5x. Your bud also walks very fast and his voice fills the streets. Haha.
We are always on a mission to get somewhere 😂 and yeah he’s a loud one haha
I just found myself watching all you Ph vlogs 😂 Please go to Baguio next time!
Same lol
Yessir!
There's two translation of Little, one is "maliit" for describing an object, the other one is "konti" for measurement. then you add "lang" after that word.
Maliit lang/konti lang = just small/just a little.
I’ve since learnt that 😌 you’ll hear me say it in later videos. Thanks for helping!
@@TheJourneyofJosh seems like you're tired answering these comments about mistranslating and misusing Tagalog words since your videos are pre-recorded. I can't help it myself but glad you're at least learning.
May I suggest you get small cards 'business' printed with your TH-cam channel name & then give them to curious folks asking for your channel name. I'm sure they'll generate more subscribers. Your style and contents of vlogging are excellent. Best wishes to you, Josh!
eat in La mien in binondo.. the handpulled noodles
They looked delicious! Next time! Only so much I can eat in one video haha
After cebu and Bohol please go take ferry ride and go coldest part of PH baguio via sleeper bus victory liner bus
✅
i appreciate, and it amazes me, that in your short period of staying, you can speak some common tagalog words. its a good show of humility…Many foreign youtubers have stayed in Ph for many years, yet they still stick to talking pure english..it kind a irked me… in my opinion, staying that very long and not trying to learn the language, just at least the greetings, common daily words, .. is sort a discriminating hence kind ofdisrespectful..so thank you for being humble learning our language.
Josh at 0:26 you caught the Manila Central Post Office in the background.
It was severely damaged in a fire last May, which is really unfortunate because it's a historical site, first built in 1928.
Really? I had no idea! I hope it can be restored 🙏
@@TheJourneyofJosh Yes hoping! 🙌 Many historical and valuable stamps perished in the fire though, no longer restorable 😕

It's ok that you take precaution about what you eat or drink. But I would like to say that the cold drinks sold in the streets of Manila comes from treated or chlorinated tap water. There some establishment that will give you filtered water to take away the taste of chlorine.
Enjoying your vids new sub here
Rare to find stray dogs in Manila because its illegal not to have them on a leash when outside. Dogs you find iastray might have been abandoned ones, or might have come from illegal vendors around
Oh really? That makes sense then.. I thought people just didn’t like cats as much 🤣
