Soup - A KVHS Short Film : Student-Made

"Soup" follows the journey of Kara (Lauren Fugitt), a highschooler struggling to find her place in the world. Kara's life revolves around the comfort of routine, symbolized by her ritual of eating the same soup. As she navigates friendship and the passage of time, Kara is confronted with the harsh reality of her stagnation. Her friendship with Cece (Ivy Brown) begins to unravel and while Cece thrives and embraces change, Kara finds herself stuck in a cycle of loneliness and self-doubt. Kara then has to face a series of surreal encounters when transported to the world of Mons Albus, where Kara embarks on a journey of self-discovery, learning to embrace the present moment and seize the opportunities that life has to offer.

But with Soup actually coming to a close,
This film was such a treacherous journey and was done throughout what was essentially my entire Senior year.
As I started writing the script in September and started filming in November through January, so much of my life has happened through and because of this film.
I went through major milestones in my life, fell in love, and became friends with some of the best people I've ever met. Soup just happened to be happening alongside all of that.
I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Cohen, Lauren, Nathan, and Ivy. I love all of you guys so much and I can’t believe the people I played Uno with on the floors of the Phoenix Convention Center on April 13, 2023, would be the same people I would work on with the biggest project I've ever done. In my short time of knowing you four, you have absolutely changed the trajectory of my life.
And thank you, Mr. Mike Walker for being my teacher and advisor for the past four years, I couldn't be any more honored to be your last senior as a teacher at Verrado High School.
Finally, thank you to the people who have had any part in the making of this film (which includes those who watch it.) You are why I want to keep going and continue what I love to do.

I do feel like that sometimes with my friend :(. I get other works and stuff of school or even nothing and stay alone when i see i could do so much more and hang out with her so easily. (In my case). I have lots of anxiety and often prefer to stay alone to not bother or anything. Luckily im gonna talk to her this sunday yey^^
