Like 90% of fights are just seeing who got the first shot off and just sitting there literally tanking shots until you kill the other vehicle cause you shot the first. If the t-72 was worse it would force you to actually have to shoot then reposition, or move with infantry.
The effects are just so beautiful. The sparks, the smoke, this is what makes Squad Squad, especially the sound - in the first clip, when you hear the gunner go "HAP!" before the round goes off in a rumbling explosion. Brilliant game design.
In general, the damage to equipment is strangely configured in the game, I saw at the training ground how the T-72 tank fired at Challenger 2, we watched this, so Challenger 2 was able to withstand 1 hit, it turns out that the T-72 pierced Challenger 2 in the frontal armor from the first shot and, judging by the damage, the crew instantly he died from shrapnel wounds that pierced the inner armor, the shooting was conducted from a distance of 1,350 yards
Yeah it is a strange damage model. I play a lot of War Thunder so I’m used to trying to get the gun breach or go straight for the ammo rack. I think squads armour model could use some work, but it’s not terrible.

Squad maps are designed for infantry combat, no tank, and as such armor is usually forced much closer to infantry than they otherwise would in real life. If realistic damage models were implemented, tanks especially would be greatly nerfed, since (at least in my experience playing in an dedicated armor squad) the biggest threat to tanks are infantry. One penetrating hit from a LAT would cripple a tank, and that just isn’t good for gameplay balance.

I'm not sure. I use GeForce Shadowplay - instant replay to get the 5 minute clips at the volume I'm listening to everything at, and then I use a free program called Shotcut to edit the clips down to the more action packed portions.
Hitting the brakes makes the gunner sight go off target normally, so it’s best to just let go of the throttle and keep the gunner on target. Also my driver tries to find good cover for hull down positions if possible.
typically those t72s pop when you shoot them center mass right in the side because of where the ammo racks are. damage models in this game seem kinda wonky.
Depending on where you hit on different tanks. Some tanks have an ammo rack, like the Leopard 2 which can basically be 2 shot from the front. Others, like the T72 have really strong frontal armour with a tiny weak spot by the right headlight, or you shoot the gun mantlet. Also Squad uses HP for their vehicles so even if you hit the weak points you need to deal a certain amount of damage to destroy it. Only exception is the ammo rack as far as I’m aware.

I’m quite lucky and the guy driving loves doing it. He’s gunned a few times but he doesn’t like it. Also it just takes practice. I miss a lot of shots, especially when I first started.

They shouldn't use WTs method. It's a can of worms with BS angles and ghosted shots. They would do well to either develope their own system, or co-opt a system like what's in Sprocket.

when you shoot a full btr or lav with a btr or lav does it kill the passengers inside if you aim right?? like can you blast the side of a btr and kill just the gunner?? it kinda looks like the vehicles just have a health bar that you chip away at. sorry i am console noob but im very interested in this game
I’m not sure about the first part. The health bar thing is pretty much it. There is a couple modules like engine, turret and tracks that you can damage on vehicles that can affect your vehicle more than just the health bar. Also certain vehicles can be ammo racked and then the vehicle basically just cooks off all the remaining ammo and blows up in a huge fire.

I got shot from T-72 4 times before i noticed where he was, amazing we took absolutely 0 damage by the end of the fight he must of shot me like 9 times.

I think the BMP can only stop .50 rounds from the frontal armor. Pretty much anywhere else the .50 will penetrate the BMP.
