  • Renaissance artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci is one of history's most creative geniuses and is behind two of the world's most famous paintings: "The Last Supper" and "Mona Lisa." Bestselling author Walter Isaacson has written biographies of people with great minds, like Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin and Steve Jobs. He joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss his new biography about da Vinci, how his genius lies in his ability to connect art and science and what he has in common with Steve Jobs.

Walter Issacson is a genius himself. I love him. Such a learned man, but such humility in his demeanour. What a man!

This message is one that all educators should understand and take very seriously. At 4:30 minutes into the interview, the crux of the message about the comparison between Da Vince and Steve Jobs is given: Steve jobs would show the intersection of two streets, "liberal arts and technology." "If you can stand at the intersection between the humanities and science or arts and engineering, that's where creativity occurs." "To me that's what the Vitruvian Man is all about and what Leonardo Da Vince is all about." (Ten years of research.)

If you are smart enough to understand Leonardo da Vinci why can't you decipher his thousands of diaries to understand his roots where his aspirations come from.

    Hi Walter,
In reading your book on Leonardo, I would like to inform you that the female figure sitting next to Jesus in The Last Supper painting is not The Virgin Mother Mary, but is Mary Magdalene, The Faithful Apostle, Friend & Lover of Jesus The Christ as His Sovereign Counterpart, The Christa.

He said accessible genius, if he is that accessible he should not be that celebrated and famous...the whole thing is einstein has more in and it is only useful for human related problems but Leonardo brain can make u touch the infinity
