Chaz, if you're listening, Rodney's exasperated "if there's still a tie" bit from this video has given me an idea... During a future On the Radar episode, I'd love to see Rodney inexplicably wearing a necktie (which would feel kinda out of character for him), then he takes it off, but the next time he's on camera again, he's suddenly wearing a different necktie. And this repeats indefinitely with him getting more and more frustrated that there's "still a tie"
Was I the only one waiting for Rodney to start maniacally laughing during the, It's still a tie. It's how I expect the Mad King to act :D And imma be honest....while playing games with the family. The amount of times we have to check for tie breakers....blows my mind. Especially with those games being Everdell and Terraforming Mars xD
@@WatchItPlayed Me too! The pencils are actually a very nice quality. I also like how they have the name of the room written on them, shows attention to detail and that the pencils were made specifically for the game. The mat in the deluxe edition is a great addition as well.
My guess is that the tie will be broken after the first tie breaker check. It's fun to imagine a situation where you might need to tie break all the ay through though!
I saw this on KS before but couldn’t back it. But once the video went up it was great timing and my copy was ordered and came today! Thanks for another great demo
That's fascinating tho, it's like a colorful version of Cartographers . Also if I had 2 moats, and from a perspective one was behind the other, would it count to the final score? It's confused me a bit while I was scoring the moat.
Sorry, tough to visualize what you mean in text. If it helps: treat each moat separately (forget the other one exists if that helps), and score it on it's own merit.

I have to make absolutely sure Chaz never sees this comment.
Can someone tag Chaz? 😉 😂
That would be a fantastic joke! xD

It happens!
I bought this two weeks ago at a Con. It has not left our table. Such a great game! We also picked up the deluxe edition. Well worth the extra $$$.
So glad to know you've been enjoying this one. I was very impressed with the component quality as well!

This channel still remains as vital of a resource in finding new games as it was to me years ago. Thank you so much!
So very nice to hear Patrick - thanks for the very kind words!
the tie breaking rule is quite interesting, so many different steps

I have played about a dozen games so far and since the average score is usually in the 200-300 range, the odds of a tie are very very slim.
Great Video! I've never played any of the other Mad King games, but I've always been interested.
Appreciate you taking the chance to check it out despite not playing the other titles... yet!
Great video Rodney. Was a little skeptical about this one but your video made me want to give it a try.
Very glad you enjoyed what you saw Justin - thanks for checking it out!
Tracing is such a mechanism of convenience for this.
Yeah, a lot of the shapes I feel confident doing by hand, but for some of the more complex ones it's very handy!
"If there's STILL a tie, the player wearing the matching color shirt wins..."
What happens if the tied players grab the eraser castle at the same time?
I burst into tears.
Rodney's feigned exasperation is probably the closest we'll ever see such a gentle soul get to upset 😂 I giggled and rewound the video a bit, tbh.
If anyone has THAT many ties I'll give up wearing plaid for a month!

Have a great time playing!!
great explanation as always!
Thank you kindly!
Legend has it that the players are still trying to break tie...
Hahahaha :)

Can a room be complete if it has a door leading into a courtyard?
Nope. Also, in case this is helpful, courtyards themselves also don't count as "rooms".
I WAS 1ST TO WATCH!!
Victory is yours! Thanks for checking out the video :)
