- First it was said to be a problem with overhead wires. Then, it was a disabled train. All of it led to countless delays on the rails. CBS New York's Dick Brennan has the story.
Remember when NJ’s duly elected governor nixed the train tunnel project under the Hudson, delaying it by 15 years?
always blaming Amtrak but 9 times out of 10 the actual problem was caused by a NJT train but of course they wont say it.
10 out of 10 times the problems are the Humans.
Our country wastes too much money on handouts to the red states. We can build highways for hundreds of miles to nothing towns in the middle of nowhere, but those of us who actually work have important projects like this cancelled for “lack of funding”. There are makers, and then there are takers….
I don’t think Ukraine is a “red state”. Joe is happy to dish out our own cash to Ukraine.
Remember blame Amtrak for the problem. Amtrak are the owners of the overhead wires and tracks

In this case it’s both. Morning was overhead wires and afternoon was disabled NJT train. Either way blaming Amtrak doesn’t help much as there’s only so much they can do to maintain infrastructure over 100 years old. I blame Gov. Christie canceling the original ARC tunnel project ~14 years ago. The new tunnels would have already been up and running by now if politicians weren’t playing football with it until the big infrastructure bill finally passed.
Only going to get worse. The overhead wires can’t handle high temperatures.
Fare Increases by 15% on NJ Transit go into effect on July 1, 2024, just think of that with all these service problems!
River Line also in South Jersey as there's always problems on that as well.
I never get why people stand around and wait at hot penn sta for hours...go out and shopping or something to drink check when its running again then go

The Gladstone train was apparently delayed by up to 2 hours and 20 minutes! 🤯

Thank god I got a lightweight electric scooter! Gives me the option to take the buses instead even if the ones available does not stop closer to my destination! Such a crucial lifesaver!
Glad I quit my job. I had a train dly the nec train. I had to spend near 40 bucks to get back home. Never again

driving in and out of NYC is much worse than waiting for a train - and very expensive. NJTransit used to be annoying, but somewhat an easy option. It has gotten bad
@@justgames2245 NJT is also expensive. Round-trip tickets can cost $40.
Tomorrow will be a better day for then when they have to pay more money for the same shity service
