Hi Mike & Jenny!! We have only been to Cuba once a few weeks ago. We went to Varadero. We had a great time and we are considering this resort and a few others in Cayo Coco this time. I think people really need to do their research before they go to Cuba along with watching your videos. People are expecting 5 star service which does not exist in Cuba. Cubans are struggling so bad and they are trying so hard to make sure we have a great visit! There will be shortages,there will be bugs, and the food can be repetitive BUT there will also be gorgeous beaches, beautiful landscapes and some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Yes, you can go to an island in the Caribbean that will offer you fancy meals and fewer shortages but you will pay a lot more for it!! Thank you for videos and educating people.
Grateful for your videos! My husband Todd, surprised me at christmas, with a trip here is coming February, 2024. We have been very nervous about going here based on all the negative comments, etc. But, since viewing your videos, we are open to and excited for the opportunity to visit this resort, and Cuba, for the first time!!!

Myself and my wife have been to Cuba and Memories Caribe several times. I am heading there again myself in late April as a nice relaxation prior to my retirement in May. You are right on about Cuba. You will always have a great time. The beach, weather, Cuban people, and the atmosphere is the best. And as long as you are not a picky eater, you have nothing to worry about. Everyone in Cuba luvs Canada and Canadians. It is the best!!!!
Hi Mike . I love your videos of Caribe and Flamenco. Just a heads up that there is a great deal on redtag at our favourite resort Hotel Mojito on April 3rd and 10th for 2 weeks @ $ 1275/person. We have been there 20 times and although the resort is getting tired looking, it is the people and staff that makes the place amazing.

hey guys,great video.We have been to Carib 3 times ,2 were good, third not so much.Maybe becouse of the Covid rules they had but anyway.They must have changed since than. We like the Carib but I find the beach to narrow at times and all those dogs on the resort are annoying to me.Also the pelican almost attacked one time while going for dinner.We switched to Flamenco Memories instead.
I just came from this resort and the food was absolutely ass. I couldn’t wait to get back to Canada lol. They didn’t have eggs for half the trip I was there and only served pancakes for breakfast.
I am loving your videos...new subscriber! Was at Playa Cayo Santa Maria just before the world fell apart and loved it...went January 2023 and was so disappointed that we swore off Cuba. The tour guide told us about the hardships Cuba has suffered lately. It was heartbreaking to hear about what has happened there. I was wondering if it was long term or short term. Our resort ran out of canned beer, bacon was non existent and being Canadian we need our bacon, buffet was mediocre at best. The staff seemed to be...well...beaten? Like they fought the fight but they felt like they lost. Just put in minimal effort. Even the chairs were uncomfortable, lol. Your videos have given me hope. Looks like Diamond Club is the way to go too!
I hear you, yes Cuba is staring to come back, but still lots to go. Beer wheat and etc shortages will never end unfortunately. Cuba is still hurting but with lots of tourists coming back and helping out, the Cuban people at the resorts are starting perk up and LOTS of smiles to go around. The hot dog and the chicken sandwich didn't actually look bad, that beach location was amazing though. Hope to run in to you 2 in Cuba or if you're in the Falls lol let me know!
Thank you for the nice, informative and mouth watering flic!!! We were last April/MAy next door at Playa Coco nice place too BUT mucho macho FLIES...an infestation was horrendous...want to book Caribe for September....seems to be hardly or no flies at the beach snack and at the buffet... I know mosquitoes and noseeums are always bad but FLIES all over the food and drinks.YUK...was it ok when you were there?...By the way you'll love Cayo Largo but not the same beach like Caribe and much much less flies😊

Wasnt like that at all January 2024. Especially the ingredients at pasta bar. This needs to be updated. The fruits and desserts were 1/4 of the selections presented here. I chose this resort because of your video.
@Finding-Fish yes I did . I was prepared. Speaking with others from other resorts on excursions. They had better experiences. Smell of sewer in rooms and backed up toilets in public washrooms not getting any attention for the entire week isn't shortage related. Fumigation during the supper meal without warning was sketchy. The A la carts we're "Full" diamond club couldn't even book. They were never full. Just say you can't accommodate due to shortages. Don't offer Diamond club and charge the same if you can't handle feeding the upgrades.
Was the pizza ordered at the Diamond Club? Were the fries and sandwiches at the Diamond Club? Is there seating at the beach for the non diamond club members?

I am a big fan of sea turtles which are apparently numerous there. More in the summer I believe. Hoping for a positive resolution on the white wine scenario. No white wine is very scary for me!

Man, they must have been rolling out the food and the red carpet for your cameras. I was in Cayo Coco in May and the food was atrocious with zero variety and lots of shortages. The war in Ukraine and America's embargo has really hit their supply chain. Many days no bananas, no milk, no french fries, no potatoes, almost no vegetables at all, bacon only once. It was either chicken or pork for 7 days almost always cooked the exact same way. The beach was absolutely spectacular but the food was a train wreck.

Oh the shade at diamond club beach bar is new! That’s a great addition. Honestly I found diamond club there worth it for the food.
