Great video! The extension is working for me but I do have one question: Imagine if your geometry contained an edge split in half that you would like to apply the moving heat to in two linked transient analyses. Let's assume that your first transient system applied the moving heat to the first line segment, the second system will have a different moving heat load to the second line segment. I tried to so something similar but my second system resulted in the moving heat load going in the opposite direction as the first system. I attempted to change the feed rate to a negative number to change the direction but it failed. Any suggestion on how the load direction can be changed?
Hello Sir. Thank u very much for the video! However, I have some doubts. It would be very grateful u if can help! I am simulating a local laser heat treatment, so: 1. Is there any difference in selecting moving heat flow or moving heat energy? I think moving heat energy is more suitable because i need to consider coefficient of absorption of alluminium. 2. Where should i define the absorption coefficient of 0,23 foir alluminium alloy? 3. When asked for source power in W/mm2. Should i use the power of the laser, for example 500 W or should i divide the power laser for the area of the laser beam? Thank u very much and continue !
Thanks a lot for appreciating my work. For the first and second questions, I would ask you to read the manual of Moving Heat Source extension. (cloud.degoo.com/share/kZydYqhGgbqdCf7_7aw0bw) Answer to third question:- Yes, you will have to divide the actual power emitted by the laser beam from the area of the beam to get source power intensity. Hi, I have installed moving heat source extension and performed the simulation properly, Thankyou very much. But the minimum temperature is below ambient temperature. Even in your model also, the temperature is 0.6627 Celsius. Why it is so? even there is no heat transfer other than convection.
Is it possible to add a cryogenic treatment to the whole plate after this moving heat Flux treatment? Also, is this treatment similar to doing a tig welding in the plate? If not, please tell me how. Please reply.
