Went looking for the words and tune to this Dance of Universal Peace today... and was delighted and touched to find this film of my DUP mentor. RIP Ayesha. You are still the light.
I met Ayesha, Jeannie in 1974 in Amsterdam, probably dancing at a Dance of Universal Peace, and then traveled with her from there to England to visit Pir Vilayat at a seminar. I have wondered all these years about her, and I'm so happy to see this video showing her still looking so young, so beautifu and so full of peace and with such refined energy. I live in California so that journey was so very long ago and far away. I am learning now that she has a daughter! What a blessing to find this out! Did she share with you her adventure to the Black Forrest where she saw a wee man? Ayesha was very magical, full of joy, humor and love for her Sufi path. I'm delighted we had the chance to meet, and I get to see how she carried on with this precious Sufi path. I am sorry to hear of her passing, but I'm sure it was a wonderful bridal night with the Beloved.
Peace be with Ayesha, this marvelous woman was a true inspiration to all who she encountered and to the dance circles she led and participated in. Beloved friend and guide.....this video shows perfectly what the Dances of Universal Peace are about. A lovely find! Ya Shakur!
I absolutely love this recording too! Such a blessing she was and I was blessed to have her as my dance mentor until she passed. She had a huge imprint upon my heart.
Ayesha Jeanne Lauenborg was my mentor with the Dances of Universal Peace. Thank you Ayesha for all that you taught me, I think of you often.and miss you.
So wonderful to see Ayesha in her best days. We had "Sufi" dances of universal peace in Cambridge, MA 1971. Sufi, we now know means so much more of a transcendent process that we could have known then. Thanks for sharing.༺♡༻
@Flombar1, it is the late Ayesha Jeanne Lauenborg. She led the dances near Philadelphia back when I lived there, amazing. I don't know where the video was filmed. I'd guess it was around 2005??
The above comment says that Ayesha found the dances of universal peace is incorrect. Ayesha herself said "when I finally found the dances of universal peace"......yes, because it had been going on much earlier.....someone in the inspirationandspirit representing this video made it sound like she was founder of the dances of universal peace, therefore, maxinegautier3313 is correct by saying that Ayesha never said that she was the founder. Thnx.
A lovely introduction. to the peace dances. Unfortunately the music and the movements are not in synch as shown in this video. it should be "To your cause we give our strenth" = hands on shoulders walking to the right "That love may reign" = hands open up wide from the heart while turning right "and war may cease" = hands come down facing the circle centre "Mir miru mir" = palms together prayer gesture bowing down - and up again ...ready to start again opening palms from the heart
it does not claim to be Sufism'. It is Dances of universal peace or Interfaith Dances'/ i learned Sufism from Pir Villayat & his son Pir Zia. They respected the Dances movement because it demonstrated spiritual integrity! jimi ji

This is my mom and I am very grateful to have her on video. Peace and Blessings Be Upon Her Soul.
Where can I find the music and words to the songs they are singing?

Love to you always, my guide and friend. What a blessing to see you here.
Love this - thank you for sharing our vital and joyful practices with the world! :-)
This is what religion should be focusing on, peace, love, and acceptance of others. Really heart-warming.
