- There is nothing quite like it on the market, the Ford Ranger Raptor is one of a kind. And it is special. Like, super special. If I were ever to buy a bakkie, which is a sentence I never thought I would say, it would only be the Raptor. My thought is that if you are going to do it, do it properly. And the Ford Ranger Raptor is pretty epic and you will never regret popping it in your garage. I also think it is really worth every penny. As far as car reviews go, or in this case, bakkie/van/truck reviews go, I think you will be able to tell almost instantly just how much I love this vehicle.

The best bakkie ever..there wont be a competitor to compete with this..this is what Americans get. The cost to maintain and the fuel usage is legendary..costs like R50 per 100km..if i was a multi millionaire..this would be part of my stable. I was expecting the price to be around 1.5m when it first launched. Great peice for what you get..a true monster.
We (Americans) don't actually buy that many Rangers (Raptors or otherwise), or any mid-size for that matter. We tend to go for the full size F series in the Ford range. The F150 is marketed to people willing to give up capability for ride comfort and the Super Duty pickups (F250/F350/F450) is for those who want the capability (towing/hauling). If you say Raptor here everyone would assume F150 Raptor.

Watching this video my mind is bouncing between wondering if motor journalists are to manufactures as doctors are to big pharmacy considering issues I've read of (and watched) with Ford ; and wondering why Jules insists on only driving in the city when Cape Town outskirts has some amazing roads all with a disclaimer that I'm a fan of the channel as I've stated previously

Well done to Ford, this a incredible bakkie, and the price has gone up since, the Amarok comes with a full maintenance plan, this will be very costly the maintain, love your road tests.
In Australia services are every 15,000 klms and capped at $320. Very reasonable for a high performance vehicle. It is the most fun car you can drive. Off road it is simply insane fun
If you’re ever in Australia look me up, you can ride my Raptor any time.
In Europe, the Ranger Raptor uses the same V6 engine, but we only get 215kW and 491Nm of torque.
But it’s still very capable off road, that’s the most important thing.

I believe the Ranger Raptor gets the full power version of the v6 here in the US, but I honestly can't say that I have seen one in the wild. I see F150 Raptors, standard trim F150s, F250s and F350s every day.

@@DaveDVideoMaker Have you seen one yet? Ford is having supply issues with a lot of their vehicle lines right now. I have been waiting for an F450 that I ordered in March 2022.
@@rich7447 I saw many of them in my local area, but the UK version only gets 288hp.
A mate of mine used his Raptor to tow a boat from Durban to Johannesburg and got 2km per litre of diesel... I guess if you want the horses you better feed them!

The fear now is that already this bakkie proved to be unreliable a lot of problems were reported like,the control or information display freezes and needs a reboot which doesn't always work and the drive shaft is not strong enough for the power this bakkie has it snaps even a diff was reported to have also broken. I'd really like to buy it but it has many issues already and it leaves us with cheaper slower and more reliable Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max and also Navara. So this cars performance isn't enough without reliability.

Pointless car though,considering that majority of people will only drive this on suburban roads, with off-road tyres. Also that price point, I’d expect a full maintenance plan, also the interior looks cheap to me. Look at the defender interior, it’s rugged but looks and feel’s expensive..

A V8 diesel sounds much much better
I think that you have go up to at least an F250 in the Ford line up to get a V8 diesel. At least that is the case in the US.
