    I always loved Ross Martin on The Wild Wild West. It was my favorite Friday night tv show as a kid.

    I was 7 in 1966. And to this day the people on tv were polite, respectful. I miss those days and I'm not a prude out anything like that

    Carol was a password legend !

    Carol was one of the best password players ever. Ross Martin is one of the few celebrities who gave her any competition. Him and Peter Lawford.

    Ross and Carol is Password Perfection. Funny, smart and silly, animated and goofy expressions, a treat to watch. Never heard of Ross before Password but he's a 'peach' of a player!

      He played in the TV series Wild, Wild West as Artemis Gordon with Robert Conrad as James West.

    Ross Martin was no intellectual lightweight.
    Ross Martin attended City College of New York, where he graduated magna cum laude, then earned a law degree from the National University School of Law (later part of the George Washington University) Mr. Martin was born to Polish and Jewish parents in in Grodek, Poland, Mr. Martin was fluent in Polish, Yiddish, some Russian before learning English, French, Spanish and Italian. He was also a regular on Stump The Stars! 1962-1963. Mr. Martin was also a concert trained violinist......and he played "second fiddle" to Robert Conrad in "Wild Wild West.."

      I had no idea that he had any musical aptitude. He must have been an interesting conversationalist. Sadly, he died way too young...

    Kind of sad to realize that the 2 year old daughter Carol was talking about teaching to swim was Carrie Hamilton, who died of cancer at age 38.

      Yes. Barbara Eden played when her son w Michael Ansara was just over a yr old. HE DIED BY SUICIDE IN HIS 30'S I THINK.

      I thought the same thing. If Carol knew then what she knows now she would have been devastated to find out Carrie wouldn't live to see 40

    Carol’s correction of her guess “Registration” from “Registrate” to “Register” was rightly rejected. It was an error and she quickly changed it to “Register” as soon as she realised her gaff. It was only fair.

    This game was a classic! The revival version with Jimmy Fallon is too over the top for me.

    Our country was so much better then. It’s so sad what has become of our country. Remember when people spoke intelligently without cussing? Remember when there were morals and we all stood for the flag?

    Did you notice that Carol did not twitch her ear at the end of the show? She did that back then after the end of the shows she was in. Pass word was less than 30 minutes, but with the original.TV commercials and station Identification it was longer.

    • @Idontwant1

      She did it at the start of the show. As soon as Alan said her name she winks and tugs her ear.

    In the lightning round for "Worry" I might have (in a very worried way) said "Contemplate……" (Saying it in a very troubled twisty way)

    Anybody else bothered why Allen pushed Carrol’s elbow off the table at 17:23? I’ve watched many of these episodes and I’ve never seen him physically control a player before.

      Perhaps to prevent her from covering her face, that's not good for the cameras. =/

      I think he was just helping her avoid the slot that they put the discarded clues in.

    • @SandraHof

      I have seen him do that before with other players who had their arm positioned like that. There is a reason for it. He wasn’t being rude to her.

    • @sharksport01
      @sharksport01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He moved her arm so he could see the words. That bothered you????

      It could have also been to keep Carol from "embellishing" her clues with gestures.

    As much as they hated it , CBS was forced to use their only remaining serviceable TK-41s for these earliest color passwords. For a Twilight Zone , CBS used TK-41s as props as a finger to RCA and NBC.

    Why were they laughing about him being a dentist when he was introduced....?

  • @voicetube
    @voicetube 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For the word "Grace" it's too bad they couldn't read the future or have a crystal ball and simply use the clue "VanderWaal" :-)
