From Yamaha comes the exquisite FS800 series of acoustic guitars that have been developed along with the FG series to bring the latest technology Yamaha has to offer with the unique characteristics of the legendary range and design of Yamahas LS range of guitars.
With a newly designed scalloped bracing pattern to increase the guitars volume, projection, and tone, and constructed from Solid Spruce and Rosewood to provide a heavy and overly bright tone, the FS830 is truly a beautifully crafted guitar.

Happy to know I don’t have to sell my firstborn to get an amazingly beautiful sounding guitar. And aesthetically well appointed, too! THANK YOU, Yamaha!

I have had mine for a few years now and, it's about the most guitar you can buy for the money. Plus the smaller size makes it easier to play for some folks (like me) and also a little more travel friendly.

Does it sound as awful as in the video? The heights rattle a lot.

Love my FS830! I think it’s the rosewood that gives it a little extra sweetness in tone.

3rd comment here. After playing several of these at stores over time I would say this. This video sounds fantastic! However none of the ones I have seen at stores are this wonderful. For the price they are good.

So I got the fsx830c and loved it UNTIL... string change.
Have tried 5 different strings so far and can't seem to get close to the tone this guitar had out of the box.
    Strings I tried so far:
Ernie Ball earthwood phosphor bronze - very little bass response
D'addario EJ16 - not terrible but not great
Yamaha FS50BT - not even close
    D'addario EXP11 - horrible
Martin phosphor bronze - decent but still lacks bass and mids
All sound very tinny with almost zero mid range or bass response.
    Chords sound flat and blah.
Unfortunately I threw away the old strings or I would just put those back on until I get this sorted out.
    Contacting Yamaha is not helpful.
They have given me three different answers.
It really should not be this difficult to get my guitar back to how it sounded when I decided to buy it in the first place.
Come on , Yamaha, get it together!

It is a real problem for yamaha laminated guitars. I now use elixirs 80/20 12 53. Lack of bass is yummy drawback but for the money it is the best solution. By the way cutaway get it worse even more. Change the nut and saddle, pins for the bone and it will improve bass a lot.

      @@vs_830 Thank you.
      I might try those strings.
Do you use the nanoweb elixers?

    • @vs_830
      @vs_830 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@neilmartin99 yes, nano. I tried 432 Hz setting and found it more suitable for the guitar. The bass in yummy is rather metallic than deep and reducing frequency will help it as well

      @@DanielLDees LOL that didn't help.
      Let me rephrase.
Is it worth the extra $100 to get the 820?
I do like the sunburst color in that series.
Not sure if it's worth the hundred though.
Also, a bit better construction on the 820.
Haven't played it yet so I can't speak to the tonality and action. The stores are all low on stock.
I have played the 800 and like it.
      Thanks

@@neilmartin99 they're laminate back and sides so you're really only paying for the classier appointments on the 830. Personally, I would pay the extra for the 830, it just looks way more expensive than it's price tag suggests.

Rosewood back and sides makes a difference in the sustain, which the fs800 doesn't have
