Had to take a deep dive into Brandi Carlile after watching her stunning and captivating performance of 'The Joke' at the Grammys. What an amazing artist and anyone who says that there's no good music being made anymore I present to you, Brandi Carlile.
Steve Acevedo I am so glad I go out of my way to listen to the newbies. I’m 58. I discovered this truly amazing artist 10 years ago now. Never would have if I only listened to the mainstream mostly junk. Even now, who is playing The Joke? It’s a crime. It’s a joke that Ms Carlile wasn’t on everyone’s playlists a long long time ago.

Always excited for people who get to hear her for the first time. First time I heard her was several years ago on Austin City Limits. I went out and bought every album they had made.

I remember when our pastor refused to marry us because I had been married before and divorced. It crushed us. But in the end it made us stronger, closer to each other, and closer to our god.

She now has nine Grammys and is nominated for a few more this year for duets and producing albums. Her creativity is endless.

Thankfully I follow Americana music closely and noticed Brandi on my radar years ago. I always liked her but it took a while before I finally grasped her greatness. So sad they push hip hop with fake country accents as country on cooperate radio instead of brilliant music like this
I'm 65, and I just discovered Brandi while watching Austin City Limits about a month ago. I am blown away by her music and am so glad that I happened upon this incredible artist!

I’m a new father, and Brandi’s song “the mother” touches me in such a deep way.
Been fighting with my wife recently about parenting. Our daughter has hit the terrible two's and teething badly, so life has been stressful and we're white-knuckling it through the days. Reminded me why we got into it and how much she sacrifices. Best of luck with your family!

America's Best Kept Secret! She's so real, absolutely awesome as singer-songwriter, human being; as a person. The cohesion in her band gives us spectators constant goosebumps and tears sometimes. Amazing!
I've been listening to Brandi for like 15 years, and I'm everyday anew impressed with just how hecking good she is. Brandi's range in Whatever You Dou is _insane._
I've cried no less than 12 times having heard "The Joke."
Her voice resonates straight through my soul, thus bringing consciousness of my own existence (yes, that's how crazy strong it feels). There's so much strength, reflection and transcendence in her. I follow her since "The Story"(2007) all the way to "In These Silent Days"(2021) and everything in between, and before. I am a HUGE fan. Her activism, her lifestyle, and all of her incredible music are an inspiration to me. Her musical artistry spans all the way breathtaking, heartmealting, and uplifting, not only because of her profound and touching lyrics, her fun and strong melodies and her rich, high-note belting voice, with raw hurricane power in her lungs in those soaring and crack open notes or her bold voice choices. I know all her album's by heart, but lately I can't get enough of "Right On Time" (2021), "Party of One"(2018), "The Joke" (2019), "You and Me On A Rock"(2021), and "Crowded Table" (2021). She's such a gift. I will listen to her music 'till my dying day.

"The Mother" is such a heartfelt honest song, it does show a lot of the emotions of a first time mom. You know it is the biggest and best decision of your life, but it comes with lots of self sacrificing.
I was in the room the VERY first time The Mother was performed. Gives me goosebumps right now just thinking about that night. oh MY !
I like to share it with all of the new mothers in my family.

I remember seeing a post that Brandi covered "Madman." I said to myself...that's guts, that's dumb." I listened and choked back many tears! It was...damn, I'm not going to say better but....HONESTLY? Yep!

I've loved her music since the first time I heard it in 2011-12 and we saw her at Mountain Winery in 2012 and were blown away. They are by far the best live band I've seen and I've seen U2, McCartney, BB King, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, CSN, REM, the Replacements, and many others. I think it's because of their positivity and their honesty, which comes across in this interview. I've met her twice and I told her she is one of the first songwriters I've heard who reminds me of John Lennon the way she (and the twins) bare their souls in their lyrics. The three of them are so talented but also so kind. They spent about 15 minutes talking to my kids and lifting them up at a meet and greet before their concert at Stanford in 2017. I'm so happy for their success. It couldn't have happened to nicer people.
I love music and finding artists/bands that do not get much radio play. How in the world have I missed Brandi Carlile for all these years. I found her today by accident. Now I am digesting any of her music I can get my hands on. ❤️

She sings with such heart and soul. I find her music to be very inspirational. I love the way her and the twins belted out Dylan's 'Times They Are a Changin'... Simply Amazing!
