I married my best friend and we have been married for 20+ years (we got married at 20yrs old)! We were really close friends for about a year, dated for about two months, then said, "What are we doing?! Let's just get married already!" and got married about 3 months later. And it really is so much fun! We share most of the same interests and doing a lot of the same things.

I think people often misinterpret infatuation as love. They are very different. Infatuation goes away quickly while love is a slow burner, but people expect to always feel infatuation. Then when that period is gone, they break up.
so true! I have a lot of guys that said they liked me, but they barely knew me. I think it was more to do with the fact I was empathetic, comforting, friendly and relatively cute and pretty. but they didnt actually KNOW me. Made me rather sad because I just wanted to be friends while being kind but it doesnt often work out that way, especially when youre in your earl 20's like me.
@@rosiemon4753 Something to keep in mind is also that guys generally rarely get positive attention. So it makes things harder for guys, and is part of why some guys seem oblivious to hints as well. It's not that they don't notice, but they don't react for the same reason. They question the intentions or think nothing of it, because it's usually like in your case.
Oh, and the whole infatuation vs love thing is actually a good reason to hold off on a lot of physical contact. Not for bullshit purity reasons, but simply that it's easier to figure out our feelings without massive hormone spikes.
Advice to guys: if you're in friend zone but attracted to her, stop being friends. it's not healthy, takes away your self-dignity, and isn't worth it.
Also, that part about "getting married to a friend" means they're trustworthy, fun to be around, and good at communicating *PLUS* being romantically attractive.
True, some of them just stay friends in hopes of winning her back. But, she made it very clear that she was not into you romantically and only sees you as a friend.

I completely agree. This might sound cold and even callous, but if a girl I liked romantically friend zoned me, I'd completely cut her out of my life. Not just for me, but for her too. I mean, if the roles were reversed, I couldn't comfortably be friends with a girl who saw me in that way.

She has a right to friends with no ulterior motives. And you are only giving yourself a wound that your other friends (if you’ve recognized you had this problem before you lost all your other friends) have to deal with. Not to mention the baggage you will carry into your next attempt at a romantic relationship. The longer you stick around, the lower your chances of ever having a healthy romantic relationship without significant counseling.

Honestly as someone who got bullied a bit for having guy friends (girl insisted that I liked him, would not drop it, and constantly brought it up.) Having someone mistake me and my friend as siblings was quite nice tbh.
Totally feel you! I honestly hoped ppl would mistake me and my friend as siblings. Cuz it gets really tiring to repeat to everyone that we're just friends, we're just friends constantly. And at some point, I just stopped repeating and just let them keep saying we're dating...😅

It started off as us just being friends and we knew each other for like 3 years and he started to get a bit clingy and at first I didn't think much of it but eventually I started liking him. I didn't have the courage to tell him face to face on graduation day so I told him after graduation through text and he was a bit surprised. The convo kinda went like this:
Me: I have a crush on you
(yes I said it out of the blue)
Him: 😳
Me: do you like me?
Him: ummm no
Me: No? Okay bye bye
(NCT reference this is exactly what I said)
The next day I texted him again saying we can stay as friends and that happened. Now I realise I just thought I liked him and really didn't

Can you give us tips how to friendzone? I know this guy who liked me before then we lost contact and he had a gf but after a few months they broke up then he contacted me again and we were chatting. He didn't say that he likes me still but the way he chats makes me think that (and I am pretty sure of it). Do I wait for him to tell me? Or do I take the initiative to tell him we could only be friends. It would be okay if he really doesn't like me but it is kinda uncomfortable because it makes me feel like a player if this continues for so long. Tho it will be embarrassing if I assumed wrong 😅
@@vaneealonzo5839 i mean you could ask him directly but if you turn out to be wrong it could be very embarrassing. id suggest giving him obvious hints that you dont like him that way.
you could tell him he reminds you of your brother, if you have one. if you dont , tell him you wish he was your brother. make it very clear that you see him as a friend, nothing more.
@@vaneealonzo5839 what I do and have work for me, ( everyone is different) the moment I feel that the conversation is going towards a “ I like you” I remind the guy that I’m not interest by saying that he’s such a good friend and he reminds me so much of my brothers or even my cousin. Back in my middle school years there was a girl who I liked for 3 years (I was so F shy at that time) so I necver told him anything... one day a friend (not really) of mine told her that I liked her, as soon as he told her sha came to me (we were at school) and took me apart of my group to talk to me, she asked me if it was true that I liked her, I didn't have any place to run haha so I told her "yes, it's true", then she started with the typical speech "you are a nice guy, very smart, bla bla bla, BUT I don't want to give you any hope, we can only be friends, so all good right?"
I had to took a deep breath cause I was about to cry and then a I told her "sure, no problem" (my voice was breaking) and then I made her go away from me, if I didn't do that I'd have started to cry, it was so sad, I felt so sad for the next weeks... :(

what ppl in the "friendzone" don't understand is that friend ship is meant to be it's own relationship built on affection and trust.

my advice would be simple. if you like a girl. tell her within the first 2 weeks you met her. it's ok if she says no. just make it clear to her that you like her. you could still be friends after that but she wont treat you like a man poodle. if your are already in the friend-zone, then stop talking to her find a new show already. there are two possibilities that could happen. either she comes to her senses and she would go after you or 2 you just saved yourself from a lot of trouble and humiliation.
