Thank you for this visual explanation. I was praying about things and asked God to show me an answer. I started reading Job. I need to trust in God's wisdom.
Hi there is there somewhere I can download the timelines poster thingy. I went to the resources page via your website and couldn't find anything. Cheers
Another lesson I got from reading through this book is that we should get rid of our sense of entitlement "I am a good person hence, I deserve good things and nothing bad should happen to me". It's not our place to determine that but God's.
He will be the one to promote us , God loves us so much he will keep us from certain things because it's for our own good , you may think[with our limited human view] you should be doing something different from God's plan- but really you need to prepare and GOD KNOWS THAT amen , truly surrender to Him w/ your hand raised high 😊
I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!
Did you not get conviction through the job scripture? I find it very difficult to read! I mean whats the meaning of reading it if were getting conviction
This book takes “Trust God” to a level I couldn’t have fathomed even though it has been staring at me in the face my whole life. Truly a marvelous book. Praise be to God!
God gives you what you need, not what you want. Sometimes you need tribulations to grow, sometimes loss leads to greater gains, and what you deem a disaster, changes your life for the better. The good exists to give you the opportunity to give thanks, and bad gives an opportunity to learn.
@@Popirnot He didn't bet with Job's life. Job 2:6 "And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life" God never bargained with Job's life. He was using Job as an example to how we should look at God and give Him his deserved worship not because we're good but because God is good. It's when you not only read but study the Bible that you begin to understand this.
My name is Jeremy David Ray. I was born dead with complications and was not breathing and clinically dead. This saddened, my mother, but out of love for me that mother's love deeply prayed to either let me live or take me if that His will? His will be done. This is accounted by what she tells me when my birthday comes around. God decided and there breathed life into me. It was 7 minutes and this year I'm turning 30 years old. That would have been 30 years ago. Today I feel closer to God more than ever because I believe he chose me for a reason and now more than ever I find I owe it to him for my life. I have not always been the best Christian but I know Jesus is God one on the same. I am living proof of the love of God and miracles he does every day.
Kead Davidson Um, I don't know, like me it does not, maybe could commented in the David video or none of them... But in relevance to the video. It does not wholly make sense. My life is one that could have not happened but God saw fit to give me a chance at life. I chose to share here because Job is a story of hardships and tragedy yet out of this we don't disparity but remain hopeful and faithful to God that everything is in God's hands. But mostly Job looks at what it means to "Let it be". Which in ways that good stuff and bad stuff happens and whatever happens. We remain faithful to God and say "let it be", which was what my mother prayed to God before I was born. Or rather given my life back. My first real miracle. Can you see now? All are relevant in ways.
@@pyrotech0931 Not really... I don't mind his comment, but it felt out of place when I read it. I actually wanted to know why he felt compelled to share such personal info in a place so public. I just wanted to know what in the video stirred his feelings to open up that much.
I think it's amazing that you shared your story here. It touched my heart. Made me realise that God's love is all around us. And that great big God actually listens to our prayers just like He listened to Job. Continue telling your story to anyone and everywhere. Simply because it speaks volumes of God's amazing love. And at the end of the day, we are all here to reflect God's glory onto the people who don't have the previlege to know Him. We are the Christs they will ever see. So thank you for your miraculous story. Thank you so so much! God bless.
Job is one of my favorite character in the bible. everytime when I'm on my lowest, I think about his story. Him being an innocent, righteous man having to suffer all of that not knowing the reason why, yet the first thing that come out of his lips were praises unto God. And if you read the book, Job still got depressed and cursed his own life wanting death to just come to him. But God never left him. He was there listening to his cries. and or me, knowing that He is with me during my tough times is already enough.
I am not innocent but at times I have done no wrong and wrong is done to me over and over and over again. I have prayed that I die because of it too. Even recently. God kept me alive because he Loves me, and everyone that my story can touch. This is why he keeps me. He decides when I die. He decides when I live. He decides when I am sad. He decides when I am glad. Not because I dont control my emotions, because I can control how I respond, but because he loves me and everyone. At the same time. This is to prove He loves me, Loves my husband, loves someone I am into, and those around us who have the pleasure of even witnessing (like me) Gods goodness. Amen.
WOOOOOO I got chills with that last part "When we try to search for reasons, we tend to either simplify God-- like the friends-- or like Job-- accuse God-- but based on limited evidence"
To think such a loving God would take a bet and allow such horrors to happen to a good man and his family is terrible. And looking back on my life after this video showed me that God was NEVER there and always hated me.
@@agadirand4four347 Brother, turn to Jesus. The entire Bible is about Jesus. He alone has access to the Father. He alone can cleanse is from sin and bondage to this world. Having the struggle and pain of a 15 year old son who has died, my response has been to bring this to the Lord in prayer. The change in a parent’s life after a child’s death is real. It’s like everything you once knew vanished away and you are starting over, trying to figure out how to live again. In the pain, there is the sweetness of God’s mercy and grace, as well as a longing to be in His presence in Heaven. There is a greater urgency to speak the gospel to the lost. I am confident because of the justification God gave me, that I will see my Jacob again. One day, He who sits on the throne will make all things new. Come Lord Jesus.
I am so sorry for your loss, my heart go out to you. May God give you peace and love and may you be filled with everlasting joy in the Lord. I know in due time God will wipe our tears and reunite us with our loved ones he gave to us
Wow, how amazing is God! He encourages us to be honest with Him, even when we feel negatively about what we think He is doing. He accepts our ideas but at the same time teaches us what is right without being angry that we feel what we are feeling. God thank You for your mercy.
Oh my that's scary! I agree that I love these videos but they can't touch the education I've received from church and various apologetic ministries. In fact, I would even content that some of The vids include incorrect info re: creation, evolution, and Leviathan. For example, the detail God uses to describe these giant beasts indicates that these are real creatures- not mythology as our video creators suggest. (I'm actually sort of offended by the idea that it's mythology and it's very much a secular interpretation designed to reinforce evolution and the Bible itself as mythology. Why our authors hold that position is beyond me but hey- no one is perfect and these vids are super SUPER valuable to the church today.
+Videospot Good points...I liked the breakdown presentation but didnt agree with the alleged mythology assumption. Yes there is so much more that I have learned too via face to face stuff within the Christian church body. And because Gods word is for us we should actually read it for ourselves to discover its depth at a pace that we can take it all in.
+Videospot I think you are applying your understanding of mythology in a very different way than what the authors alluded to. mythology in ancient times is a way for people to tell a Truth about something. it's a rhetorical tool. read c.s. lewis' essays on mythology for reference.
I spent two years "Living" the book of Job. In tears, I apologized to God that I was not like Job and could not be Job for God. The time taught me so much. In trembling, I thank God for that time of teaching. Perhaps we shall talk about this someday?
I'm living a Jobian nightmare right now myself, for the last 18 months. It's extremely difficult to keep a proper mindset. My thoughts and emotions are all over the map. But I have to remain faithful that God has a plan, completely unknown to me, for now. I agonize, but don't get angry about it. And unlike Job, I'm NOT upright and blameless!
@@mguerramd friend, I just wanna say I am praying for you, standing in the gap for you! This scripture has been helping me a lot recently and it's Romans 8: "31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Anyone who is in Christ, God sees as blameless and holy. He chose you before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight!! (Ephesians 1:4-8). God will work it out (also a beautiful song), and He is faithful. No one can stand against Him, and His name is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are protected (Proverbs 18:10). You are not alone. Keep trusting in Jesus and cling to Him all the more. Maybe this is a point of suffering? That we realize our need for God and we get all the more close to Him, realizing that He is the only sure person that we have. And remember, that God works all things for the goof of those who love God, those who are called according to His purpose Romans 8: 28. You should read the whole of Romans, I pray and believe that God will encourage you so much through it, and that you will encounter Him in a new way through it! I prophesy that over you, and even if your circumstances don't immediately change, I pray God would do a bigger work and change in your heart, to make you more like Christ and to bring you close to Him. In Jesus' name, amen!
Yes, I've been a fan of the book of Job for some time. It gave me the strength to praise God in my "Job season". He gives, and he takes away. We came empty into this world, and we're leaving here empty, except for our lessons learned. This is a big training ground. He is always with us. And whatever happens in our lives, He allows. That is comforting 🙏
I really like the way you worded that. Thinking of life as a big training ground really puts into perspective how we should view both the good and bad things that happen to us; it’s all happening to point us to God :) That is one of the first things I’ve ever heard that really puts me at ease in regards to what happened to Job.
I am a new viewer. I am a new believer. I am so grateful the Lord lead me to your videos. I have been scared of the book of Job. I was terrified to think Satan could convince God to bring harm to us. This story really relieved some of that silly fear. Thanks. Please keep taking your time with the content, it is worth it.
+willowillow1969 God doesn't bring any harm to you. nor anything bad. Anything bad that happens is simply Satan and the fact the world is fallen. or you brought it upon yourself.
Thanks Andrew. I appreciate your comment. I was trying to say that this video actually helped me realize that my fear was not founded in scripture. I now know God will never leave us or forsake us. Thanks for trying to clear things up for me.
willowwillow1969 Good. I wanted to be sure. Many christians today think everything in the world is God's Will and only happens because of God's Will, but that is completely wrong and gets people killed. In fact, that's blasphemy because that means God is the author of evil.
Do not fear, even Jesus was lead to the dessert to be tempted by Satan, but as he won we can win. With his grace. And never forget what the Scripture said: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it . 1 Cor 10:13 KJVA And even in the book of Job, God let's him be harmed only to what he can bear, that's why when Satan asked to torture him God led him do anything but touch his life which would have been too much and wouldn't have let Job take his lesson. (And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. Job 2:6 KJVA)
I’m crying after listening to this. I’m 30 years old & I just got back on my walk with Christ last summer after having the biggest health scare of my life. I’ve always been a sickly child/adult & always questioned the reason why. As I’ve gotten back closer to God after being estranged for some years, I’ve been reading his word. My godmother advised me to start reading my Bible with the book of John first. I followed her instruction & allowed my intuition to guide me to the next book I should read. Once I made it to Job at the beginning of this year, I read a few chapters and fell off with my daily readings. I just started back reading a few weeks ago and as I’m reading, I start crying because I felt that I was initially drawn to Job because I could relate to his inner dialogue about suffering. This video has explained Job’s journey so simply & helped me to better understand my own journey of suffering. What made me so emotional is to receive validation that I’m not wrong with how I feel and how I choose to process my emotions, which is QUESTION GOD! I’ve been telling God, “Lord, I’m just trying to understand what you’re doing.”
hi brother, wanted to say congrats on your perspective. this world can take the wisest of men to there knees. i call the lesson learned here "FIRE FLOWERS". mnemonic device to remember that we need the "FIRE" to "FLOWER" or we would all be selfish and not turn into CARE BEARS about others.
Lord Jesus I pray over this beautiful woman of God right now and just ask that You bless her Lord, You keep her in Your mighty and capable hands, Your warm and strengthening arms that protect and guide, and Lord I ask that You keep her with You, that if she strays, slips, or gets hurt, You are there to pick her up, to carry her, to be her rock to stand on and shoulder to lean on, God. Praise You Lord Jesus that You are so humble in all your perfection and glory that You are willing to be these things for us, lowly and sinful but replenished and made new in Your works. Thank you Jesus amen!
I mean church is about community... how are you serving your community and how is your community serving your city-(through the power of knowing and loving Jesus)? Yes pastor needs to be scripturally based and a good shepherd but there is so much more.
You should try to do a bible study class at your church if they offer one. Sermons aren't really for teaching the history of the bible and more so teaching lessons that we can use in modern society. I wish sermons ventured into this realm more tbh.
This is another wonderful overview by the Bible Project of a very complex book in the Bible. When I went through a period of depression I read it several times (misery loves company!). I was trying to find an answer for my suffering and like you say in this overview I never found a concrete answer, but two verses helped me: “But God teaches people through suffering and uses distress to open their eyes.” Job 36:15 “Be careful not to turn to evil; your suffering was sent to keep you from it.” Job 36:21 After reading these two verses I realised that God was aware of my suffering (that was important for me). Second I realised that he was allowing it for a reason that I could not understand, but that He understands. That helped me to just accept what was happening to me and love God as my Provider.
Whats interesting the most is that god aaked the three friends for sacrifices and not Elihu this friend who also refuted Job. Elihu actually isnt mentioned in the epilogue of Job either i am very confused and tge verses you qouted were spoken from his lips.
I'm so happy that I listened to this bc this makes it so much clearer to me than when I have read it. My mother's favorite book in the Bible is Job. My youngest daughter is a quadriplegic and has been struggling with her health for the past few months. She's been so brave, especially during this lockdown with COVID and we can't visit with her in the hospital. Prayers for her please. We know God has a plan and we trust him 🙏❤️
You and your family are in my prayers for strength and feeling God’s loving arms reaching each of you to give you that comfort and strength you need each day. Blessings to each of you. The laws have changed and you can visit in the hospitals now. Patient rights allow at least one person to be with each patient. Pray that has worked for all of you
God does indeed have a plan for each and every one of us. Whether we accept it or not. He has a plan for your youngest daughter too. Blessings be upon you and your family 🙏🏿
Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV) 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
So? My ways arnt gods or you’re way either! That doesn’t justify anything only that you are brainwashed and if we lived in the 70ies you would have also believed jim jones and you would fall into the cult
I've read the Bible 5 times, from cover to cover, and I'm currently reading it for the 6th time now. It always gets confusing when I get to the Book of Job, but this video really helps me understand this book better. Thank you Bible Project, may God bless your ministry.
@@EriPages I'm certain that everyone claiming to read the bible cover to cover aside from those who read it in academic settings such as to get degrees, is lying.
@@youcantbeatk7006you are very wrong by assuming that. Some people are determined and want to know God, surprisingly or not. Maybe that incredulity of yours show more about yourself than you think, maybe before questioning this you should look a little more to yourself and see what's making you think that way, hence, it's actually not that hard, just read the Bible instead of wasting your time in worldly things and you see, you end it in no time.
@@andinyum I've witnessed at least like a dozen cases of people claiming to've read the bible front to back, and yet they don't understand very surface level concepts as if they've never read beyond Genesis. How dare you try to insult my character for pointing out the lies of others?
@@EriPages, Thank you, I could never read the Bible as it is very confusing. I also had to wonder why there were no books by the women in Christ's life. That alone, told me it was very incomplete. The answers and God's voice reside within.
WOW. I am amazed by this book of wisdom. It intimidates me but fascinates me too. Why I think everyone should see this video and read the book of Job: one of the MOST COMMON questions from believers and non- believers is "Why does God allow suffering?" (or "why do 'bad things' happen to 'good people'?") What is amazing is that God doesn't give us in an answer but invites us to wrestle in our souls and then ultimately TRUST Him. He is God, we are not. The best response is humility and worship. Oh, to be more like Job!
This is amazing!!! Changed my life because after 35 yrs, I had so many questions. The answer is just,... trust! Shocked when my wife said, "did you ever notice that God never specifically answers why he [Job], is suffering?" You dont nees to know why. Just trust! I know when he delivers me, I dont need the math on why he delivered me. Amen that he did. Just... trust.
I've been reading this book and I got confused at some parts. This helped me SOOO much to get a bigger picture of what's going on. I'm going to definitely start watching these summaries before and after reading each book. I will also recommend this to anyone I know that does bible study. Thank you!
With the suffering I have faced within the past 2 years I never asked WHY. I went to God, preyed and thanked him for everything he has done for me. I lost my family, relationships, money, apartment and almost my BA( shout out to UCR, Love you for life), and still i went to GOD for praise and worship. I can fully relate to the book of Job. Even if I do not recieve what I lost thank you God for the journey. LETS GO GOD shout out to all my God sisters and brothers. No matter what continue to walk with God. He will never walk away.
I want to believe so much but that WHY has and will probably always be in the back of my. I'm still trying to figure out WHY I was given not one, but two brain tumors and had to have two brain surgeries, chemo and radiation treatment during a pandemic and technically homeless at the same time
@@OtisCorley-wn4zjI’m so sorry to hear what you’ve gone through and I pray things have been and continue to get better for you and God continues to heal you and strengthen you and show you the truth in Him! 🙏🏼 we must always remember that we brought sin into this world, we fell into temptation in the garden, and since then everything has been messed up because of our fall! God doesn’t allow these things because He wants to; He created everything perfectly and that’s what we must look forward to after our life here as we know it is over: eternity with Him in His Kingdom is going to be far better than we can ever imagine or fathom with our human minds! That’s where trust, hope, and faith in Him and His promises keep us strong on the Rock that is Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior! Also, I was thinking about this reading a lot of people’s comments on this video: let us remember also that Jesus suffered and paid the ultimate price for us; His suffering, beating, mocking, ridiculing, crucifixion, and death were agonizing and painful and He is our Lord God and He endured that pain! So in remembering His suffering we can take comfort when we suffer in this life because if our Lord suffered and was crucified and died in this life for us, then we can’t expect to go through life without pain and suffering! For the wages of sin is death. Temporal death in this early life we are living, but we will have eternal life with Him if we trust in Him and love Him and obey Him and give Him thanks and praise and just have faith in what He has done for us and what He continues to do for us daily 🙂😌🙏🏼 and most importantly to wrap up His suffering and death, let us not end there because most importantly He rose from the dead for us on the third day! I pray this, the gospel of peace, helps you focus on Jesus and what He has done and continues to do for us! God bless you!!!

Job has always been my favorite book, until recently when I began to struggle and when I read Job’s words, I felt the same. I would only read through it so I could hurry up and get to chapter 38 when God speaks and chapter 42 for the conclusion. This story reminds me of when my house burned down when I lived in the United States 4 and a half years ago, I was 13. It was a week before Christmas and we were all asleep, then we all woke up at 1:00 in the morning to the smell of smoke and sight of fire. Thank God in Heaven that we got out. We lost our house but, it was a blessing in disguise. Everyone from the town of New Fairfield, CT (where we lived) gave us so many gifts including furniture, toys, gift cards, and even a free house to live in for 3 months! We were also invited to many Christmas parties! Thank God for the lives of those people and truly we don't know God's plan, but no doubt that it is Good. That was truly the best Christmas my family and I ever had! Forgive me for for my sins please, in Jesus' Name! Blessed be the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God in Heaven Who I love with all me heart and soul, Amen!

I am currently at a point in my life where I am going through so much pain and suffering. It seems as though God is punishing me over and over again and I really don't understand why. I have made so many poor choices and have many bad habits. But for months I have been trying to live a better life and go down the righteous path. But I continue to suffer. I opened myself up to God and am doing my research on the Book of Job before I dive in and read it. I pray that after i finish the Book of Job, I will have a better understanding why my life feels like it's going to complete sh*t.
@Ulises Anguiano hang in there buddy! Trail and tribulations never last, don't neglect your prayers, God will be shaping you for something much better than you can comprehend, just trust in God.
I am going through the same. I have made bad decisions and bad choices and I am suffering from the consequences of my actions. Now, I am going through the right path, but I still suffer, but I am starting to read the Bible starting in the wisdom series and also reading gospel daily reflections. I am now going through in the right path by the guidance of God. It might not be easy but I trust God that I will get the peace that I wanted in myself. Hang in there friend! We can do this! ❤️ By God's guidance 💪🏼
We suffer because Jesus suffered. Just know that you aren't alone. All of your brothers and sisters are going through the same type of suffering. Just put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ. He will get you through it. You will come out of it a better man and with a better understanding. Focus on Jesus through the storms, not the storms. If we focus on the storms, we won't see Jesus in the midst, but He is always there brother. Just let Jesus hold you and you will get through anything. We can't change or do anything on our own. We have to let go of control and let Jesus take over our lives. He will completely transform us from the inside out.
My sister and I discussed whether or not God was just in sending certain sinners to hell. I tried to argue on behalf of God but failed. We sat in silence and contemplated him being unjust. Not even a second after I began to wonder, my eyes went right to my bible sitting on my table. i knew there would be a message. I turned to a random page and was led to scripture in the book of Job. Needless to say, I got my answer and was humbled.
I don't know many things, but some scholars say that God only gives choice between eternal life and death, not heaven and eternal hell. That the bible never says about a Hell where people will be burned and tortured forever, eternally.
Derek Fisher The choice is between eternal life and eternal death. How are they gonna die? By burning lake of fire. Those don't say choose between eternal pleasure and eternal torture.
Atom Nous not to mention God's fire is not regular fire. It is literal eternal fire in fact that it won't go away untill all that is in it is consumed. good examples are when God brought fire from heaven and accepted Solomon's and Elijah's offerings
When God finally speaks he neither explains the reason for Job's suffering nor defends his justice, simply Might Makes Right, the powerful can crush the weak and will be sending billions 99.99% of the world population to eternal hell including mostly theist and other christians and there will be less atheist in hell if the bible is to be believed.
WHAT A GRAND INTOXICATING INNOCENCE I belive might does not make right there are examples in the bible that shows that mercy is what makes right not might. God is God and Jesus says if we've seen Him we've seen the Father. His Character one of love and mercy so great that He left everything for us. And it isn't the laws of life that determines things it's God if He choose something for you its for your own benefit we can't comprehend God and His plans because they are His and only His
@@janeyue7491so it turns out i learned that satan and lucifer are not exactley the same lucifer is the name of the devil the snake in the garden thr tempter of jesus all that. But satan when translated into hebrew means advirsary or questionier. Some say that the satan in the book of job was not lucifer but was just an angel who had an opposition to gods view in numbers there's a satan that blocks the path questioning gods omnipotence in this story is something i always did but than i tried looking at what the story preaches. Good men can suffer hard times bad men can have good times, nor does the situation you were born into necessarily dictate your character. You can grow up in the hood with gangs and grow up to be a god fearing righteous man. You can grow up in an enviorment with enumerous wealth and be selfishand proud.
I always find strength after reading or watching Job's story. Sometimes, my thought of God limited His works through me and to let Him work in me and through me and trust Him is my ultimate goal. Glory to God!
Job’s suffering was to teach us all a lesson and I think it does explain why God allows good people to suffer it’s to test our faith. God would never set us up for failure but he has given us the gift of self choice. he teaches us but it’s up to us to learn🙏🏻❣️
Wow, this was amazing! I never knew the Book of Job had so much wisdom and revelation in it. It’s so much deeper and so applicable to our lives today. This brought tears to my eyes, realizing how consistent and majestic and grand and wise our Heavenly Father is. And how he promises to take care of us and all we need really is to trust Him. It’s amazing how the Bible is so unified in its message and promises of hope and salvation and how utterly majestic God is.
The way how God can humble us when we may trip into having a sense of entitlement on how things are ran in HIS universe is truly powerful. This book taught me to simply live a free but God fearing life, with child like faith towards Him, and to focus your energy only on things that actually are in your control (such as choosing whether to live by God’s standards or not), whilst leaving the rest to God, instead of questioning it or questioning Him. Almost like a “whatever happens, happens“ mentality, but with the pillar of faith & hope in His amazing promise for us all. “Be still and wait patiently on Him.”
Thank you for your incredible resources to help us better understand everything . I will be baptised into the Catholic church next week and learning has been a joy with the bible project. Grew up in a Muslim home rejected it as a child, searched the world *literally* spent a decade travelling and finding myself when really I needed to find god. From new age spirituality, Buddhism and a bunch of other witchcraft mumble jumble rubbish out there it's all a bandaid until you open your heart to god . Praise be to Jesus 🙏
This series has really helped me come back to The Faith with a deeper understanding and conviction. I'm sure this is true for thousands and maybe even millions of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Good bless you all.
It's been more than a couple years with Co-Vid for everyone. I have made it through poverty, death, a hospitalized loved one and one going after another yet God whispered read the book of Jobfor answers. Thank you for simplifying "why do people suffer?" TRUST ME is the answer I got loud and clear...🙏❤
I always come back to watch this video when things happen in my life that I can't explain or fathom, and I always leave being reminded that He's got the whole world in His hands and I should just trust in Him🙌🙌
The Bible is the most incredible, influential, inspiring, beautiful, magical, entertaining, loving, and important physical object in the known universe. It proclaims that no matter the complexity of our constructed physical reality, that mankind is far from an accident of nature, but rather we sit central within all created existence, and in God’s eternal loving nature, He delivers this message to us in an astonishing manner that simultaneously humbles our hearts while exalting our spirits. What a wonderful world to find myself reborn into. I will praise the Lord forever. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
These videos have been extremely helpful to me. I just wanted to take the time to tell you all that you've done an amazing job and I'm very thankful for all your hard work in making these videos for everyone to be able to get a better knowledge of the Bible. Thank you and God bless you all.
The prosperity message teachers preach "no persecution, no pain, no poverty, everything always good". But the lives of many dispute this teaching. Paul was mistrusted, persecuted, imprisoned, shipwrecked, flogged, and died by being beheaded. Abel was murdered by Cain, and Abel was the more righteous one. King David, before he was king, was ruthlessly hunted down by Saul. Peter was flogged, imprisoned, and crucified upside down. James was martyred by being killed by the sword. Stephen was martyred by being stoned to death. BUT, where are these men now? Their suffering is long over. God never promised us everything would be good. He promised us that we would be hated because of His name. He promised us that in this world we will have tribulation. He promised us that He would be with us through it all. THEN, He said "trust me" and I will make you a new creation, I will prepare a place for you in My kingdom where you can be with Me forever and I will grant you eternal life. The battle is between God (good) and Satan (bad). Even here in Job, we see Satan attempting to destroy Job; not God punishing Job. Satan is a crafty liar. Job and his friends thought "God" was doing these things to Job; when in effect Satan was. May we never believe the lie. Even though God has the overall control, Satan rules this world. In Christ, we will overcome this world for Jesus Christ has already won that victory. Job experienced that victory with this situation; in that end he bowed to our Lord (repented) and submitted himself under God and his deliverance was finally granted: "Before I heard about You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You." The constant is that no matter what our circumstances our souls can be delivered NOW. He will give us "eyes to see" and "ears to hear". Then, one day our faith will become sight and we will behold His glory forever.
this is one of the most confusing yet most beautiful books in the bible for me. It answers so many questions about suffering about this world, Its amazing.
This book really speaks to me. I now understand why my dad wanted me to the Bible. This book clearly answered my question about the world and my personal experiences.
I’ve read the book of Job many times over my life. And what I have to conclude is that God ultimately created us not just for the here and now but for eternal purposes as well. There is a lot of character building and growing up that needs to be done not just here on earth but after we pass on. It’s difficult to keep our eyes on Jesus in a world that is constantly distracting us, but I do believe if we change perspective to not 100 years but infinite years of maturation then we start to see God’s patience, love and master plan.
Help us & Guide us lord to fully surrender to you Mighty lord .. .btw Amazing explanation I been reading & listened to job book over and over again… but this video completely changed that cycle of thinking and thinking and getting distracted. Thank you Bible project for allowing Almighty God to use you & help us understand the Bible ! Praise God for making them amazing!
I agree with your dialog, but I disagree that the Book of Job doesn't explain why he's gone through what he's gone through. It's evident in the text that Job wasn't being punished(which you stated), but he was being divinely tested and tried. God allowed Satan to test Job under harsh circumstances because God knew Job and knew he would be faithful. The story wasn't about "justice" for me, but more about faithfulness, humility, and trust in God regardless of the circumstances. Job proved to be righteous because he never cursed God, wavered, or turned his back on God irrespective of how bad the circumstances got for him. Job may have cursed himself but never God. Job passed the test and got double for his trouble because the trials he was under were severe; meanwhile, he continued to be faithful to God. I see the Book of Job as a teaching tool of life's uncertainties and ebbs and flows because life isn't always consistent ... because it's our choice to stay faithful.
sweethearts 86 Job really is such a beautiful example of faith despite hardship, despite not understanding, despite everything. It is something I will always look to as a reminder to stay faithful and trust when I do not understand what is happening around me because God is faithful❤️☺️
@ sweethearts 86 Exactly right ! Thank you, I doubt it could be put more clearly, and essential to understand before reading the Book of Job. People, beware of misleading doctrines such as that often put forward by this Bible Project channel (a front for Dr Michael Heiser's book view of something he calls 'The Divine Council' - itself a mistranslation in modern bibles, not found in the KJV Bible, the only true Word of YHWH)
What do we do with the fact that [1] Job REPENTS in Job 42? - What sin is Job repenting from? [2] God asks God if Job would condemn God to justify Himself in Job 38? [3] The verse where Job "curses the day he was born" (Job 3:1, 25) [4] Job makes accusations against God "The terrors of God are arrayed against me" (Job 6:4); "God multiplies my wounds WITHOUT CAUSE" (Job 9:17); God "destroys the blameless....He laughs at the plight of the innocent..." (Job 9:22-23); "I will speak in BITTERNESS of souL... Do You (God) oppress and despise the works of Your hands" (Job 10:1, 3-5); "You (God) destroy the hope of man...He (God) hates me.." (Job 14:19; 16:9), "You (God) have become cruel to me/You turn on me ruthlessly" (Job 30:21) etc. etc. We can either read ALL OF JOB, not just the first two chapters and end up with a very strong faith where Job is being completely honest with God, or we can choose to have a sanitized, sterilized faith that blindly reads Job 1-2, without reading ALL OF JOB, and see Job in a powerful wrestling match with God... I keep finding people who only see Job 1-2, which is true in its context, without reading Job 3-37, where Job says some of the worst things about God in the Bible...because he is hurting, because he is suffering and doesn't understand. This makes him human and when we read all of Job, letting Job be human in chapters 3-7, we see a powerful picture of faith as he is openly and completely honest with God....God confronts some of Job's statements...Job repents and God blesses Job because his heart was right with God..right in the sense that Job trusted God with everything in his heart... With prayers that we will have the same kind of honesty with God that Job did, so we can grow in a real, authentic faith like Job did..... Dan Allender writes about real faith that is honest with God and wrestles with God: The journey involves bringing our wounded heart before God, a heart that is full of rage, overwhelmed with doubt, bloodied but unbroken, rebellious, stained and lonely. It does not seem possible that anyone can handle, let alone embrace, our wounded and sinful heart. But the path involves the risk of putting into words the condition of our inner being and placing those words before God for His response... Genuine trust involves allowing another to matter and have an impact in our lives. For that reason, many who hate and do battle with God trust Him more deeply than those whose complacent faith permits an abstract and motionless stance before Him. Those who trust God most are those whose faith permits them to risk wrestling with Him over the deepest questions of life. Good hearts are captured in a divine wrestling match; fearful, doubting hearts stay clear of the mat. (Healing the Wounded Heart, pp. 19, 175-176 (Dan Allender, 1995)
It was Job 40, not Job 38, where God asks Job if Job would reprove God (KJV) or contend with God....some versions say "accuse God".....The Lord said to Job: 2 “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!” (NIV) So please, please, please, please read ALL OF JOB, not just Job 1-2, because Job 1-2 is true in its context AND Job 1-42 is also true in its context, including God showing up to challenge Job's accusations against God, which leads Job to repent in Job 42...Job repenting means that Job was sinning in some way....but Job was still bringing his accusations and complaints to God, which is real faith, real honesty, not pie-in-the-sky faith that is often filled with not-so-Christian-cliches that actually discourages people who are struggling with faith and questions about God . in their . lives.... Reading Job IN CONTEXT, gives them permission to be honest with God again and again and again... Then we don't make the mistake of being like Job's "friends" who are pontificating about God with all their "Christian cliches" about God, but they never talk to God... Job blasts God in chapters 3-37 and ends up being blessed by God. Job's friends talk ABOUT God as if they know God, and they are blasted by God in the end.... so I will stick with Job, reading all 42 chapters, including chapters 3-37, even as many are unwilling to read these chapters that reveal Job's struggle and his heart for God, including his questions, doubts and accusations....that lead to him repenting and being blessed . by God....
Job . 40:8 Adds in God . asking Job if . Job could condemn Job to justify himself....God knew that Job was condemning God. Job's friends knew that Job was condemning God. Job knew that Job was condemning God. But many, if not the majority refuse to [1] Read ALL of Job, including chapters 3-37 [2] Fail to and refuse to admit that God, Job's friends, and Job all know, that Job was accusing and condemning God... Those who refuse to read ALL of Job, miss this point and that means they miss the main point of Job's authenticity and honesty and transparency with God, trusting God with his deepest, darkest thoughts, fears and judgments about God. With prayers that we will read ALL of Job...not just chapters 1-2....and receive the level of honesty, authenticity, and transparency with God that Job does, so that we can have real faith, not a pie-in-the-sky faith....
I love the animation. It's so satisfying. And the analysis was on point. Simplified the complex into simple 11 minutes. The Spirit of God was at work here
The wait was well worth it. I appreciate the time and devotion the team is taking to make this all happen. Not many people appreciate the "context" of this whole video. It isnt about the money spent but the main message ALL these videos are offering to each and every individual who comes across these. I personally was waiting patiently for JOB to be created. As a youth leader and trying to explain this book to teens, this definitely helps a lot to provide a GREAT visual and more focused on the concept of the book of JOB. So, again like my other previous comments... GOD bless you all and I hope with all my heart these videos are shared with many people. That at least for one moment they may be inspired to learn more about GOD. And there will be critics saying this is all fake and we are living a fairty tale. But I would rather live this life as a Christian than to live my past when I did not have GOD in my heart. The battle is hard but the reward is always priceless. Again... Thank you and GOD bless you!!!
Riddle me this: have weever thought that when we are going thru spiritual warfare, tough times, and unspeakable issues, yet we are fully surrendered to Jesus, maybe, just maybe God is picking a fight with satan, to show us off as a faithful trophy, that will never quit, never surrender to the devil or let people's words sway our faith, and that God will ultimately pour out His blessings and favor, once we show that we love God no matter what! That it's because God is our source, our resource, and His love saved us forever, from our failures/sin. God, Jesus, Holy Spirit we love You for never giving up on us. 🔥
Amazing work. The richness is not on the vintage look (which i like a lot), but on the study and research of the Scriptures. Resuming such complex and old texts in a 10 minute video is something spectacular!
This is one of the deeper and more confusing books of the, possibly due in part to its emotional overtones. For Instance, take God respecting and honoring the fact that Job was in deep emotional and physical pain when he made his accusations against Him. God doesn't blame us for being mad when things are hard for us. This is a quality breakdown and overview of the book packed into only an 11 minuet video! I've seen modern philosophers and intellectuals debate and discuss for hours on end about this book and the issues that it covers, the fact that y'all were able to condense that much information in such a format is truly impressive.
One of the most powerful “Read Scripture” videos I’ve seen from TBP. Thanks Jon and Tim for helping us see that God in His infinite wisdom is inviting us to trust Him.
Hi ,ever see a picture of Christ in Job, Righteous, faithful, Worshiping God. Overcoming evil with good? 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 Be blessed Above all ENJOY GOD!
Perhaps job represents our faith constantly being tested? his three friends being our "thoughts" the "why, how or who" = "the reasons for..." factor of our thoughts, and though they are all separate they are all together. The conversations in our heads when we think of something good or bad we choose to either decline or accept it, if it appalls us we decline, if it appeals to us we accept, perhaps God was showing us how our minds work from the point of view of a story, a parable, it's not like He hasn't done it before...
Hepper The testing isn’t for God. He knows everything about us. God allows us to be tested in order that *WE* may see our true selves, the real state of our faith and dependence on God, our weaknesses and strengths. He also allows us to be tested to reveal our true beliefs about God, to shape us into the people He has created us to be, and to later on be a testimony to others.
"Job - an invitation to trust God's wisdom". Wow. I know sometimes I want to know all the answers and all the details. I want to know sometimes why our world faces so much. Especially in what is going on these days with civil unrest... but from our perspective, we will never understand. God understands and it's all according to HIS will. Thank you so much for doing these videos. After reading a book I like to review these videos to capture all that I have read in one thought. Nice work!
Job, usually known as the oldest book of the bible, one of my favorites. TY for covering it. Job was the richest man in the land, lost everything, then God celebrated him far more in the end, to give his children inheritance and honor. Love it! 🥰 Beautiful for situation.
Definitely one of my new favorite chapters.....huge life lessons to learn from and I was currently going though questioning god and not fully putting my trust in him and I too had to repent for not giving it all to him when I wasn’t sure what to think or do
I have never understood the book of job as i do now! I usually just drown in the looong speeches but this summary has helped me put everything in their compartments and actually enjoy the book. I'm truly grateful 🙏
God’s response to Job is his same response to us when we ask “why?” “Can the clay ask the Potter ‘why have you made me thus?’” God’s ways are beyond our comprehension.
Thank you so much, for a detailed explanation about the book of Job. Sometimes due to our morrow mind we cannot perceive The Beauty Of Our Creator. Although God is the source of everything, yet we keep asking why this is happening if there's God? Thanks again for your plain but mind exploding Truth, How Our God and Savior Jesus Christ Loved us so much. Who owns the Universe.
i really enjoy the explanation about the old testament... a lot of words and sentences i can't understand while i read them, but here u make it really easy to understanding them... thank you so much for your videos... i wish a lot of people can read the bible joyfully... greeting from Indonesia :)
I finished reading Job. It's probably my favorite book in the whole bible. It's like a Hebrew allegory of the cave. It's a great way to explain how God runs the world.
The Bible Project is wonderful and I enjoy Tim and Jon. This story is hard for people to understand but people using their own wisdom. Miss the answer to what God showed us in the spirit. God loves mystery.
1 second ago Great commentary on the book of Job! I was taken aback that God’s restoration of Job’s losses was not mentioned though. This book also shows how God restored Job double because Job was a righteous man by God's own admission. Individuals struggling with faith and their own suffering need to know that part of the story for encouragement, hope and to know all was not lost. In the end God rewarded Job for his righteousness. Scripture says weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 thank you for what you do!
I absolutely love this!!! It really brought everything into perspective for me. Wow! Our God is so WISE AND HOLY!!! Thank you Father God for your righteous ways. You are truly the Ancient of Days! HALLELUJAH!!!!!
This was very helpful in understanding this book. Very simplistic and easy to understand explanation. Understanding God on the other hand, I quit trying to do that. He is God, and that says it all. Thank you for these videos.
I’ve read this book multiple times and never thought to look up its meaning until my fiancé told me about this video. It has helped me understand it so much clearer. Thank you!
If you believe this guy...then you still aren't reading it correctly. Not unless you believe God can be in the presence of sin and Satan has the ability to come and go as he pleases.😒😒
Jay Thomas well again we don’t know when this was or given any detail about anything time wise In the book of Job. But your argument makes no sense, this is literally from the Bible so it’s not like it’s made up. But still that has nothing to do with the point of the book so it seems like you’re the one who missed it.
@@iamjulian2810 I suggest you concentrate on the last words of verse 5. Actually write them down and don't allow for the numbers or man-made breaks in the writing. Don't get confused implying this is a "change" in location from verses 4&5. Taking out those numbers, breaks, and implications read it again out loud. Read it several times. Then ask yourself... How in the world did we get a change in location? As for the point of the video? I thought it was to explain accurately the word of Job. I guess I missed the "transported" part in the opening of the video. Sorry you misunderstood the "point" of my correction, rebuking etc. 🙄😒
Job is the Hebrew counter-argument to eastern teachings about kharma, sins of the father and the nature of God. While Job never says why natural suffering exists, it goes in to great detail why it does not. It says that suffering is 1) not due to God being unjust 2) not due to God not being omniscent 3) not a punishment for something Job did (its not karma) 4) not a punishment for something Job's parents did (indirect karma) Ultimately rather than try to answer the impossible question "why does suffering exist" the Book of Job takes a more pragmatic approach. It teaches that suffering exists. Suffering is real (as opposed to systems like Buddhism that teach that suffering is an illusion). And because suffering is real and exists, we should trust in God and focus, not on why, but rather, how we respond to it
Every single book in the Bible could be the basis for entire philosophy courses. And each verse or cluster of verses could be hour long lectures in of themselves
I just watched this on Shine TV in New Zealand ... and it is brilliant!!!! I will use this as a guide to read through Job again. Thanks Bible Project team ... you are awesome 💯💥👏❤

Thank you for this visual explanation. I was praying about things and asked God to show me an answer. I started reading Job. I need to trust in God's wisdom.
Iy
Thank you for this helpful exposition on the book of Job.
Thanks for your visuals. It perfect complements and facilitates the reading of the Bible. God bless you and keep you.
Amen and so true ☺
Amen
He will be the one to promote us , God loves us so much he will keep us from certain things because it's for our own good , you may think[with our limited human view] you should be doing something different from God's plan- but really you need to prepare and GOD KNOWS THAT amen , truly surrender to Him w/ your hand raised high 😊
I would agree with you
And who are we to say we are good next to God’s goodness?
HE LIVES!
Wow. Thanks for sharing your story, sir. God bless you!
Thank you for sharing your testimony. May God continue to bless you
Thank you for that wonderful story and I’m very happy you found our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. All glory and honor belong to him.
God is with you transforming lives. Your story is a powerful reminder of the love of Jesus. Bless you.
Amen JESUS IS LORD! Thank you God!!
Job is a book of vulnerability. It was hard to read at times, but it made me realize how badly we all need God. Definitely my new favorite book
The testament of job gives i little background that helped me to see it better
I find all old testament hard to read
Have you looked at Ligma?
I totally agree. Vulnerability, Grief, Lament -- all the things lol. It is one of my favorites!
Much love
God gives you what you need, not what you want.
Sometimes you need tribulations to grow, sometimes loss leads to greater gains, and what you deem a disaster, changes your life for the better.
The good exists to give you the opportunity to give thanks, and bad gives an opportunity to learn.
Hope God won't make a bet about your life
It's definitely one of the more horrifyingly disturbing books in the Bible...
@@Popirnot He didn't bet with Job's life.
Job 2:6 "And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life"
God never bargained with Job's life.
Why are you telling us your birth story in the comments? How is this relevant to the video?
@@kead_davidson does it really matter
My name is ...job Huree 🙏
Jesus isnt your favorite?
@@jakelang806 well, see said ONE of my favorite characters for a reason..sooo..
Amen.

Amen and Alleluia! Come Lord Jesus indeed and may God richly bless you and your loved ones.
Thank you for sharing this, this was beautifully put, all glory to Jesus

Wow, how amazing is God! He encourages us to be honest with Him, even when we feel negatively about what we think He is doing. He accepts our ideas but at the same time teaches us what is right without being angry that we feel what we are feeling. God thank You for your mercy.

So glad I discovered this channel. I've learned more from you than all my years of church
I totally agree with you. these videos give a nice overview and focus on the most important things.
+Videospot
Good points...I liked the breakdown presentation but didnt agree with the alleged mythology assumption. Yes there is so much more that I have learned too via face to face stuff within the Christian church body.
And because Gods word is for us we should actually read it for ourselves to discover its depth at a pace that we can take it all in.
+Videospot
I think you are applying your understanding of mythology in a very different way than what the authors alluded to. mythology in ancient times is a way for people to tell a Truth about something. it's a rhetorical tool. read c.s. lewis' essays on mythology for reference.
Matt 28:20.

36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
My name is ..Job Huree 😊✝️🇮🇩
How about being burned at the stake ?
I really like the way you worded that. Thinking of life as a big training ground really puts into perspective how we should view both the good and bad things that happen to us; it’s all happening to point us to God :) That is one of the first things I’ve ever heard that really puts me at ease in regards to what happened to Job.
I am a new viewer. I am a new believer. I am so grateful the Lord lead me to your videos. I have been scared of the book of Job. I was terrified to think Satan could convince God to bring harm to us. This story really relieved some of that silly fear. Thanks. Please keep taking your time with the content, it is worth it.
+willowillow1969
God doesn't bring any harm to you. nor anything bad.
And never forget what the Scripture said:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it .
1 Cor 10:13 KJVA
And even in the book of Job, God let's him be harmed only to what he can bear, that's why when Satan asked to torture him God led him do anything but touch his life which would have been too much and wouldn't have let Job take his lesson.

This is another wonderful overview by the Bible Project of a very complex book in the Bible. When I went through a period of depression I read it several times (misery loves company!). I was trying to find an answer for my suffering and like you say in this overview I never found a concrete answer, but two verses helped me:
“But God teaches people through suffering and uses distress to open their eyes.”
Job 36:15
“Be careful not to turn to evil; your suffering was sent to keep you from it.”
Job 36:21
After reading these two verses I realised that God was aware of my suffering (that was important for me).

Why I think everyone should see this video and read the book of Job: one of the MOST COMMON questions from believers and non- believers is "Why does God allow suffering?" @@OtisCorley-wn4zjI’m so sorry to hear what you’ve gone through and I pray things have been and continue to get better for you and God continues to heal you and strengthen you and show you the truth in Him!

You can grow up in the hood with gangs and grow up to be a god fearing righteous man. You can grow up in an enviorment with enumerous wealth and be selfishand proud.
Whoever you are author, thank you for what you do, mind blown. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!!
I always find strength after reading or watching Job's story. Sometimes, my thought of God limited His works through me and to let Him work in me and through me and trust Him is my ultimate goal. Glory to God!
Had to come back and rewatch this in my Job season lol
I do not know more than you God. Everything happens for a reason
We have all felt like Job at some point.
Yup
under much less suffering.
Everyday
What made god entitled to do this? He has every right to be angry! The fact gif couldn’t even explain why he did it!
Welcome to the family of brothers and sisters in Christ. Heaven rejoices that you now believe in Him. Hallelujah!
Idiot
Job experienced that victory with this situation; in that end he bowed to our Lord (repented) and submitted himself under God and his deliverance was finally granted: "Before I heard about You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You."
The constant is that no matter what our circumstances our souls can be delivered NOW. He will give us "eyes to see" and "ears to hear". Then, one day our faith will become sight and we will behold His glory forever.
Beautifully said, thank you.
Excellently put! You've said it all!🔥🔥🔥
this is one of the most confusing yet most beautiful books in the bible for me. It answers so many questions about suffering about this world, Its amazing.
This book really speaks to me. I now understand why my dad wanted me to the Bible. This book clearly answered my question about the world and my personal experiences.
"We live in an amazing world that is not designed to prevent suffering." Wow!
I feel this is more relevant in my life now more than ever
@
sweethearts 86 Exactly right !
Dan Allender writes about real faith that is honest with God and wrestles with God:
The journey involves bringing our wounded heart before God, a heart that is full of rage, overwhelmed with doubt, bloodied but unbroken, rebellious, stained and lonely.
Those who trust God most are those whose faith permits them to risk wrestling
with Him over the deepest questions of life. Good hearts are captured in a divine wrestling match; fearful, doubting hearts stay clear of the mat. (Healing the Wounded Heart, pp. 19, 175-176 (Dan Allender, 1995)
It was Job 40, not Job 38, where God asks Job if Job would reprove God (KJV) or contend with God....some versions say "accuse God".....The Lord said to Job:
2 “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him?
A big thank you to the bible project team for this blessed interpretation. May the blessings of the Father, Son & Holyspirit be with you all the time.
Again... Thank you and GOD bless you!!!
awesome guys. So glad God is using you guys to do these amazing illustrations of his word.
I know right Its like teaching us to go out and touch others hearts so that they could do the same
I see shades of the Gospel message when I read Job. The book (and God's revelations in it) are truly phenomenal.
How precious are your feet! I pray you are overflowing with blessings. Keep going deeper!
God willing 🙏 no matter what we have in our life , thank god and feel gratitude for that
Amazing work.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
Be blessed
Above all ENJOY GOD!
Why would an omniscient god feel the need to test us?
HilFSMittel because we proven many times, days, and seasons that we dont have the natural ability to trust the divine
Tribe Of Manasseh absolutely brain tickling, have you ever looked at the story of creation as a parable?
Hepper The testing isn’t for God. He knows everything about us. God allows us to be tested in order that *WE* may see our true selves, the real state of our faith and dependence on God, our weaknesses and strengths. He also allows us to be tested to reveal our true beliefs about God, to shape us into the people He has created us to be, and to later on be a testimony to others.
@@hilfsmittel7934 because we are not god. And thats your answer right there
"Job - an invitation to trust God's wisdom".
Absolutely blown by how you explained this book, felt like i never read it before...
Definitely one of my new favorite chapters.....huge life lessons to learn from and I was currently going though questioning god and not fully putting my trust in him and I too had to repent for not giving it all to him when I wasn’t sure what to think or do
I learned more about being a more loving compassionate friend in this book than elsewhere in the Bible.
Thank you for this overview as I re read Job!
Well, better than in Numbers, Leviticus, Joshua and Samuel, anyway.
I have never understood the book of job as i do now! I usually just drown in the looong speeches but this summary has helped me put everything in their compartments and actually enjoy the book.
I'm truly grateful 🙏
Today is my little boy's 1st birthday and I am sitting here waiting for him to grow so I can show him how great and forgiving our Lord is :)
@Emz 3103 thanks sister. May the Lord continue to protect you and your family ❤️
Amen and happy birthday to the young one!
Happy birthday to the young one!
@@aleksahristov8942 Much appreciated :)
belated happy birthday
What I'm going through right now is no different than what job went through it comforts me that god and jesus are watching out for me
God’s response to Job is his same response to us when we ask “why?”
“Can the clay ask the Potter ‘why have you made me thus?’”
God’s ways are beyond our comprehension.
That's an interesting comparison.
the best 11 minute explanation I ever heard... goosebumps and tears in my eyes...
The Bible Project is wonderful and I enjoy Tim and Jon. This story is hard for people to understand but people using their own wisdom. Miss the answer to what God showed us in the spirit. God loves mystery.
What an awesome ministry! Thank you for using your gift for the glory of God.
This is a much deeper look at the book of Job than your previous video. Thank you for giving this fascinating and challenging book another video.
Wow, thank you so much!!! And you have showed me how amazing and unparalleled God's glory is and I thank you for it!!

Great commentary on the book of Job!
Psalm 30:5
thank you for what you do!
Listening to the full book and coming here to hear the synopsis really sends the message home and makes the "hard sayings" understandable. Thank you.
This is so great! I'm reading Job right now and it's just now making sense to me! Thanks guys! Keep doing what you're doing! God Bless!
I love how the Book of Job "humanizes" God, as much as a perfect being can be, anyways.
TRUST in HIS wisdom 💯 wisdomistheapplicationofknowledge
10:48 - I want this as a poster in my room as a reminder. The Book of Job is my favorite book of the Bible :)
I would love to have a poster like that.
I’ve read this book multiple times and never thought to look up its meaning until my fiancé told me about this video. It has helped me understand it so much clearer. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! We are grateful for your encouragement and are so happy that we can be a resource for you 😁
So, basically I have never looked at the book of Job correctly until this day.
It says that suffering is 1) not due to God being unjust 2) not due to God not being omniscent 3) not a punishment for something Job did (its not karma) 4) not a punishment for something Job's parents did (indirect karma)
Ultimately rather than try to answer the impossible question "why does suffering exist" the Book of Job takes a more pragmatic approach. It teaches that suffering exists. Suffering is real (as opposed to systems like Buddhism that teach that suffering is an illusion). And because suffering is real and exists, we should trust in God and focus, not on why, but rather, how we respond to it
@@rstoneburn Suffering exists because Zeus got bored, so started messing with the mortals. Its just written in hebrew.
This is a blessing! This it’s amazing how God speaks through us with the scriptures. This is sooo enlightening!
this should be the basis of an entire philosophy course
Every single book in the Bible could be the basis for entire philosophy courses. And each verse or cluster of verses could be hour long lectures in of themselves
