It’s time to blast-off into a dining experience we’ve been waiting EONS for (or at least since 2017 when it was first announced). It’s the one, the only... Space 220.

I saw Peter and Kitra from Ordinary Adventures, as well as Kevin Heimbach, in this video doing their reviews as well. While they were standing in line waiting to get in, and people were coming out, they were asking people what they recommended. Many people recommended the Buffalo cauliflower, so they tried it and loved it. Peter said that the Buffalo sauce was some of the best he’s had.
Pretty sure AJ was in their video at least twice.

I think eating there might be a one off unless they have a big menu change. But I expect we might use the lounge more than once.

While the theming is definitely fun, I think I would rather spend my money eating a meal (or two at that price) in World Showcase.

Not my kind of food (at least not for those prices!) so depending on crowds I may just pop in for a drink next time I'm there. But the theming looks super fun and it's nice to have a different kind of sit-down place in Epcot.

I 100% don’t understand why Disney doesn’t bother to theme their food at their themed signature restaurants. Call it supernova all you want but this food looks super boring. I am sure it is competently executed but a themed restaurant needs creativity in the kitchen. The cocktails look to be fun but at the end of the day Space 220 joins the growing list of “one and done” and “only for the ambience” restaurant offerings at Disney World. A real shame considering there’s so much culinary out-of-the-box talent out there that would be a perfect fit for these types of dining options.
For as many people that would be adventurous eaters, there are about 20x that are scared of anything other than something they readily recognize, and isn't adventurous at all...
I agree with you... and if the world was just people like us... cool. But WDW has to cater to EVERYBODY. I work in an ice cream shop. we MAKE OUR OWN ICE CREAM and people will still turn up their nose if the flavor falls outside the van/choc/strawberry/ praline group. haha... I don't like it for the Space 220 restaurant, but I get it. You NEEEEEEED people to drop $60 bucks on lunch. need.
I think this would be a top tier restaurant if they made the menu molecular gastronomy themed. I think this style of food is so cool and work perfectly with the space theme.
Decor and theming is amazing, but seems like they barely tried with the menu.
I agree but doing something more creative would still probably be a one time option for people for the price.

I’m going to try for the lounge when I visit in November. The menu for the sit down meal is unimpressive for the price. I do want the experience though

I could eat here and seemingly enjoy the food, but I wouldn't cough up that kind of money at a theme park, especially after the park is getting so expensive as it is. Not worth it for me.
Right? One dinner at this place and I could spend a day at a local theme park plus food. Or, two days worth of food and wine festival treats
It's not for everyone. Just bring a bologna sandwich with you to eat while you walk around.

Crossover episode
I was just here on Saturday!!! Sounds crazy, but I was so lucky to go on a day when a storm was in the forecast… this meant NO crowds at all!!! I was able to walk in to Space 220 right when it opened and got a table overlooking the restaurant (which was still empty!). I had the flat iron steak - it was delicious. The sauce was amazing and the potatoes were perfect. I also had the cauliflower first course and that was SO good. My beverage was the Nebula. Also amazing. Overall, great dining experience. Not the cheapest place to eat in the park, but definitely memorable. :)
I went yesterday and the experience is amazing! The food is quite expensive but i would recommend!
The "Space Elevator" reminds me of the old "Hydrolators" from The Living Seas. For those too young to remember, the original Living Seas pavilion had this room everyone went into which was themed to be a Hydrolator, or an undersea elevator that would take you inside the underwater base, and you had to re-enter these hydrolators to "get back to the surface" to leave the pavilion.
when i went last week i got the calamari as an appetizer and the crab stuffed lobster as my entree with a side of shrimp added and the lemon and raspberry sorbet for dessert….i haven’t been able to stop thinking about how amazing and perfect all of it was. i also had the moon rocks drink as a cocktail and got a rare card in my collectible card pack. we didn’t get seated next to the earth view but did get a window seat. 10/10 experience but you are blessed if you get a good earth view for sure

I don't think I could handle being there... it has a very... Talos 1 vibe and I don't think Disney would appreciate me tapping everything with a fork to test if it's a mimic or not.

I’d pick calamari, flat iron steak (or fillet), and the lemon mousse! That is if I can get reservations… I suspect a one and done for us considering the price.

Imagine getting in a carousel and suddenly it become a dark ride that shows you Mary’s World.
This restaurant will always be full and not everyone will be able to experience it also because it’s absurdly expensive. I rather have a ride of an iconic and timeless story. Something everyone can experience in the park!

I've been excited for this for years but I gotta say conceptually it seems like everything but the food came together. Granted I haven't gotten to try the food yet though I should in a few weeks since I'm making a visit just to do so. But conceptually the dishes appear to be lacking panache to match the new setting. I thought even if they kept the ingredients basic that the plating would be unique but ik not really getting that vibe out of seeing it.

I love the atmosphere it seems this restaurant has but not loving the food choices. May try to get into the lounge for a quick snack and drink.
I've been trying to get reservations since Day 1. I'm going to Epcot tomorrow and tried this morning and WHAT! I found an opening at 11:30. I'm SO excited. Thanks for reminding me of all my options! I'm probly going to watch again and plan my menu right this minute! So .... keep trying if you can't get a reservation. People (clearly) do cancel!
It would have being cool if there was a meriorite shower and the lights go off and there is lights flashing. Kind of like In rain forest cafe

I’m wondering the same! I don’t want it to just be the same every time. I hope it changes based on the weather that day and whether it’s night or day. I’m also pretty excited to see Epcot get smaller and smaller and what it’s going to look like as we “rise” over the country.

I love some of the restaurants in Epcot. My wife and I had reservations at the Coral Reef restaurant during our honeymoon (yes, we honeymooned at Disney). We loved the view but it sounded like a school cafeteria in there, we could barely hear each other over the crowd noise. It really turned us off to eating at Disney.
I thought there would be more ambient lighting it seems a lot more bright then the photos made it seem

Hello, thank you so much for your thoughts. We were there in September 2023 and our menu was slightly different. I will say one of our guests had to leave due to motion sickness. Our waiter say that that happens, not frequently, but it happens. Overall, we thought it was fine but overpriced. We enjoyed other restaurants in WDW better.
I got a kick out of your video not just for the obvious reasons, they're always fun, but for a kind of 'Where's Waldo' game I played. When you did a pan of the restaurant I searched for friends and TH-camrs. There were more than a few! Thanks guys!

I hope people get to try the menu before it gets the skipper canteen treatment. I loved the X2 Duck and the Neptune Tartare was amazing.

I'm not that into paying for presentation which it looks like you do here. If I pay $80 for a steak I'd prefer to get more than the size of a filet. The place looks great though and I appreciate they're doing something unique.
This menu has a "fancy 1990s" vibe to it.
Atmosphere is great, eating doesn't seem very unique at all.

Was that medium rare chicken? It didn't look quite done enough for chicken.
I think it’s from a veiny part of the chicken, like maybe the thigh. Notice the slice that’s a bit pinker has a visibly different texture, which is likely slow twitch muscles and stuff.
AJ, make sure to point out that Park Hopping can only happen after 2:00 PM right now. Had to learn that at the tapstyles when I tried to hop over to EPCOT
We had dinner there Friday. I strongly recommend it. Food was superb and service was awesome. In my opinion, worth every penny.

Great video AJ...definitely want to check out the lounge but everytime we go to Epcot its a festival so I don't want to take too much food space for a prefix ( see what I did there lol)

I was logged in at 6 am Eastern on the dot 60 days in advance of my first Disney world night. Space220 is Booked up for our whole trip in late November! I started at the farthest date out available during our trip and worked backward with no luck! 😢
$55 bucks yikes I could buy a week of groceries for that much....or at least a few days 😅 but still that's cray!

I really really wanted to go for my bday in January but honestly for the price it just doesn’t seem worth it theres just so many other better options in epcot just really wish they had food that was comparable to the atmosphere I really wanted to want to go
I think the idea is really cool but can't imagine paying the meal prices. Maybe someday I can try the lounge menu just to experience it. Also, I've been wondering, the railing around the viewport, is there plexiglass too or just railing there?

Ugh lol, that cotton candy drink. Reminds me of an old drink TGI Fridays used to serve that looked exactly the same, shockingly pink and poured over cotton candy. It tasted like death and an overload of sugar, I have no hopes for this new one at Space 220 hahaba

Oh wow this is exactly like Mars 2112. The atmosphere was better than the food. It was right in midtown Manhattan and has been gone for so long because it was a one time kind of thing.

Seriously. I'm not vegetarian but I don't eat much meat. The only thing that looked possible was to ask them to hold the meat sauce on top of the baked macaroni, but it looks so dry!
