You keep coming up with different views on photography that show us you can be successful taking photos outside of the golden hour and with equipment that doesn't cost a month's wages. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
@@e6Vlogs Your view on sunsets and sunrises is interesting and really worth thinking about more deeply. They restrict us to only two time slots in a whole day and we have all been programmed to do this.
I am amazed how you get decent landscape (not just closeup) shots even in less than desirable light. Got a terrific eye for what works in 2D. Great creative sense.
Simple? No you just made it look that way! :-) You have a great eye for the composition and a refreshing approach to Vlogs. Thanks for the inspiration Craig!
I used a Rolleicord Va with the Schneider Xenar 75mm lens for years with Tri x. I printed 8x8 inch pictures in the darkroom, which I still have. I sold it and bought a Pentax 67 with a 55mm F4 lens lens. Great for colour slides. I didn't like the 6x7 crop in black and white. I sold the Pentax when the prices skyrocketed. I now have a 1957 Yashica Mat with a 75mm 3.5 Lumaxar lens. I love my 8x8 prints again now. I use a Ricoh 8.1 megapixel GR digital camera for moody sharp black and white pictures now. I never use a tripod anymore. I am 76 now Tired of lugging heavy gear. The Ricoh is always in my shirt pocket. Spare battery in my little coin pocket of my jeans. Pocket rocket camera. It never ceases to amaze me with the results I get. The Yashica is easy to carry too. One lens. I can pre frame a shot without even looking through the camera. 75mm is a great focal length.
I love your videos, I think you regularly take a simple approach but one that comes with many years of experience and learning. I must say that you had some fantastic shots especially those with the grasses in the foreground. Your composition is always so well thought out and works so well. I'm learning to enjoy limiting myself to one lens and realising it really makes you think and a great learning tool.
excellent video as usual, love the square format shots especially the compositions with the rocks with the wild flowers, beautiful images, taken with your professional eye, and goes to prove what you have said before about big heavy cameras and all the equipment, and you used one camera and one lens, simple ! can you give me your opinion on the Pen F camera as I was thinking of buying one, always look forward to the videos, regards, Colin,
I'm enjoying the simple intimate landscape. Shot wide open with a blurred out background. I like how your evf swivels upward allowing you to shoot low while looking straight down into it.
The music was spot on for these gorgeous pictures. Because of this channel, I am now considering adding the Olympus Em10 Mark ii along side my Nikon DSLR. Love the form factor and seeing that you can get stunning images with a micro 4/3 sensor is amazing. Fantastic video mate!
What a great video, so inspiring to see the possibilities that can be achieved with a fixed lens and one format. Some of the best photographs in the history of photography were taken with a fixed lens camera. So after many years of taking pictures, I am seriously considering getting rid of my DSLR's and kit and going for the Fuji X100V. The reason...to get back to making me think more about the images I want to create, to take more control of my photography. Not forgetting cutting all that weight out of lenses I hardly use. Thanks again for a great video, food for thought!
Enjoyed the video and theme. I've been meaning to challenge myself with these types of limitations as I expect it makes you think more about composition. Also, having to add another layer of adjustment based on conditions is also a good lesson. Thanks for the hard work.
Really enjoyed this video. Your style is very easy on the ears and eyes. Just a bit of local knowledge. This is an area I go to regularly looking for inspiration? When you took your last shot, you said you were down by the trees & then came back to take the bolder shot. If, on the way to the trees, you look to your right (edge on your left), just before you get to the trees, about 30 feet or so in from the path, there is a small stone circle. Always good for a shot, no matter which direction you want to go. Worth looking for next time you go, also shorter distance if you park on the road, Froggatt Edge side!
Just a foot note to my comment last week. I went back up to Froggatt Edge on Saturday and noticed that the ferns are shoulder high! The circle is impossible to see due to this! This is defiantly a shoot for when the ferns have died back.
Takes me back to the days when I first got into photography. My first camera was a Yashica Electro-35, with a fixed 45mm lens. I didnt have to think about which lens to use. I just shot what I saw with my eye. A simpler time.
My wife and I went to Curbar Edge a few weeks ago and did that wind blow! It was so strong that I could barely hold the camera still. Will visit again but I shall check weather forecast first.......
Very nice video, man! All the gears back to the roots, One Camera and One Lens. This combo is always a challenge and a beautiful way to work on our photographic vision to grow up. I love your channel. Keep on Rockin'! Cheers :)
Brilliant video. You take some amazing photographs in some amazing places. Two thumbs up from me.=) keep up the amazing working looking forward to the next installment.=)
Would never have considered shooting in square format..just the usual 3:2 ratio, but next time I’m out I’ll give it a go, also like the fact you’re not shooting with some £10,000 set up or whatever..great video, liked and subbed 👍
Had been waiting for your vids! Welcome back. In the same vein of one lens one format shooting, any chance to make a video on how to shoot with a lens kit? Bought a Nikon camera and came with 2 lenses but haven't quite figured out how to use them to their potential yet... Again, great vid as always.
e6 Vlogs True, a lens is a lens after all. I don't own any primes so can't say how they differ except that one zooms and the other doesn't. Should invest in some primes I think.
Hello Craig amazing blog .I usually work with Canon but I also have now an Olympus oemd10 markII.Can you suggest me a zoom viewfinder like the ones you used in this video?
This is what I like, taking advantage of what is available, equipment, conditions and place.
You keep coming up with different views on photography that show us you can be successful taking photos outside of the golden hour and with equipment that doesn't cost a month's wages. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
After seeing this, I cannot in "good conscience" upgrade my 7III to 7RIV until I can make images half as good as these. Most inspirational, Thanks!
That's why I love my Fuji X100s, fixed lens and set to square format, so much fun. Landscape, seascape, cityscape, whatever.
Keepin' it 'simple'.
Pushed the BUY button on a Fuji X100s only yesterday and plan on doing exactingly the same
AKA: KISS
I like your idea of not relying on dramatic sunrises and sunsets to take landscape shots. It opens my eyes to new creative possibilities.
Sunsets ae too easy and overrated!
@@e6Vlogs Your view on sunsets and sunrises is interesting and really worth thinking about more deeply. They restrict us to only two time slots in a whole day and we have all been programmed to do this.
One Camera - One Format - One Lens - and One Photographer, a Good One...! Thank You for all your Vlogs.
You're too kind Jakob!

Very nice to see my old haunts.
All the best..Peter
Another excellent and 'simple' approach to the art of photography. Thank you

This is wonderful; the simplicity, inspiring.
Wow, amazing composition skills in very 'ordinary' light. Great location. Beautiful work!
Great set of images, just goes to show what can be achieved if you are willing to adapt and compromise. Excellent video once again.
I enjoyed your approach for getting an image. Nicely done.
I'm enjoying the simple intimate landscape. Shot wide open with a blurred out background. I like how your evf swivels upward allowing you to shoot low while looking straight down into it.
Yes, its a great feature of the E-P5 with it's separate viewfinder

Cheers. Don't blame me for wanting an EM10! But of course you won't regret buying one
The 10 MkII is a fantastic camera (I have two of them...) Go for it!
All is simple but the experience in your brain, it’s cool! I would like to have a try right now! Love it!

Simple and square. Love it. Really enjoy your videos. I should really get out more during the day myself.
Glad I found your channel, love your videos, very inspiring.. thanks
You've nailed it yet again Craig 😆
Another very inspirational vlog. Must, must get back to Curbar.
I love the 17mm F1,8 lens and the PEN, too. Sometimes it's all you need.
Super video and it's always inspiring to watch you out and about, makes me want to grab my em5!
Another great vlog. Such great imagery yet so simple in composition. You ended up with some nice images.
Thanks Madaca
Great video Craig - both published one in the Peak District today :-) super spot! Loved your images.

I've subscribed to your videos; I enjoy them as I'm a novice and I shoot w an Olympus. Thank you.
Simply great 🙄. Not sure if it's because of the old 126 cartridges but I do seem to crop square quite a lot myself.
126! Gosh I remember using them in my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic!
great video, thanks for sharing...
Lovely shots and video!!
Love the photos! They came out well despite the flat light. The square format reminds me of my time shooting with an old Yashica-C TLR and 120 film.
Yes, you can take pictures in flat light, you just have to adapt your style.
I always enjoy your videos and learn from them. Cheers from Atlanta! Great to see you use the Pen!
Thanks Sean
I very much enjoyed the video.

superb, simplistic and so inspiring to just get out there..
beautiful photos. very creative.

Great video as always, love your approach. Just wish we had some more interesting countryside down here in Essex, I need to travel more!
Just Brill. Small kit Great images and inspirational
I enjoy your video and learn from them. Thank!
Composition King. :) Love your vids Craig.
Thanks! Really enjoyed that!! 💜 👏 😊
Great video, very informative thks
Thank you for the great videos sir
I often go out with 1 camera 50mm lensed a couple of NDs in my pocket and light travel tripod and it works
Brilliant video. You take some amazing photographs in some amazing places. Two thumbs up from me.=)
keep up the amazing working looking forward to the next installment.=)
Thank you!
Limitations stimulate creativity
SIMPLY amazing
thank you for sharing!!

Bought a Nikon camera and came with 2 lenses but haven't quite figured out how to use them to their potential yet...

Been busy creating content for my e6 Subscription. In answer to your question, why would a kit lens be any different to any other lens?
e6 Vlogs True, a lens is a lens after all. I don't own any primes so can't say how they differ except that one zooms and the other doesn't.
Should invest in some primes I think.
Really enjoyed that. Atb
Hello Craig amazing blog .I usually work with Canon but I also have now an Olympus oemd10 markII.Can you suggest me a zoom viewfinder like the ones you used in this video?
It's not strictly a zoom viewfinder and it's designed for this camera only, so unfortunately I can't recommend an alternative.
Large outcrop.. red coat... hahaha subscribed!
classic 🙂
simple i like it
Simplicity is good.
Great video Craig but no way you took that last shot hand held, too much cloud movement. Long exposure I think.
I wish I could leave a load of heavy lenses at home, after seeing this I am going to have to try it.
Another great video, Craig, very nice shots and compositions and the vid title reminds me of a certain U2 song. ;-)
Really? Not sure which one!
I want to smell that air.
What graduating filter is it you were using?
Any ideas as to what L bracket Craig is using on his EP5?
It's a cheapy off ebay. Only one available, but I still had to modify it a bit and saw a bit off!
What ia the name of that camera model?
Olympus pen ep-5 with attached vf4 electronic view finder.
where is?
I been doing this for years ....
Simple
It takes skills to shoot with a MFT camera.
That camera is not an OMD lol
I suppose the UK is as suspect to chemtrails as the US. That stuff ruins landscapes IMO.
Way, way too complicated! :)
