It's funny you say that, I never build and paint on the same day. It's a painting day or a chassis building day and if I'm not 100% feeling it, I never push myself to paint.
Great to see a TT01 on here. I love the TT01 (I've got 6 of them in my collection) the amount of hop-ups you can get is pretty much endless. As yours is a shelf queen Glen, try whizzing out the front springs altogether and see how it sits with just the shocks. It'll only take a minute to remove the springs from the shocks. Might be a quick fix. 👍

Ive got the paint already Ps12 and now to order the kit @235Aud delivered - beauty cant wait another addition to the collection love the tt01e basic but great and with a bit of tweaking the drive can be a real joy to drive and fast, thanks again glen for another great build cant wait to see the end product sure it will be great either way , cheers bud :-)
Just ordered one of these and seriously can't wait, actually had the original back in 99 so wondering where it might be now, anyhow fab video! Never built a TT-01...how long to build the chassis, bearing in mind I'm a novice? Also order a set of bearings, alloy prop shaft and a set of TRF dampers for, to make it a little special 👍😊
Just got mines a week ago, haven't ran it yet, waiting for my yeah racing dampers, overall it was a fun build, I plan on painting the body a Candy Gold.

You've no doubt solved the front by now...... but if not...... bit of lead weight in the tub at the front? Or cut a bit of the shock spring off?? I KNEW you'd pick that colour scheme. It's going to look AMAZING! (I know what you mean about wheels filling the body. It's like fingers down a blackboard for me!)

Reason I ask is I'm wondering, is it just me, or do you and most people share my absolute hatred of said Chassis!?? lol. I just think it's too "Toy like" to be a true Hobby grade RC Chassis!?? I hate it!! lol. It's chassis is too simple and "Toy like" IMHO! BTW, I completely agree with you about your sentiments regarding that Bodyshell. It's one of Tamiya's finest ever IMHO! I am definitely the ODDBALL, Glenn... I have NEVER built a TT-01 Chassis!!! 😲😧 And I don't see why so many People balk at them. Sure, bog standard they're a bit CRAP.... But my GOD!! The sheer number of Upgrades available for that Chassis is just STAGGERING. Right... It's like a blank canvas - you can make it whatever you want it to be!!! Probably more so than the venerable TT-02 Chassis like in my Video Series now. A suggestion... SINCE it is a pure Shelf Queen, and those "Dampers" are pointless anyway.... Why NOT just cut down the Springs, a bit at a time, until you get the desired ride height?? That IS quite a stunning Body!!! Wouldn't mind having one, on ANY Chassis!! 😊 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

It is a stupid mistake by Tamiya, A drawn picture like the old box art has been proven to stay in someone's mind for a long long time. this new stuff just goes in one eye ball and out the other
If the body post holes werent there as i missed the part if were there or not.. i would be thinking magnetic .. And as its a shelf queen and if had access to or knew someone with a 3d printer could redesign the mount points to either minimize the extrusions of the body posts or allowing use of magnets..

The thing is the kit springs would have allowed for the weight of the rc gear, so it is a bit light.
