I had a guide only for 2 days out of the 3 weeks I was there, a guide isn’t completely necessary, but it’s helpful with understanding your surroundings! But if I was to go back, I wouldn’t get a guide. So it’s really up to the traveller!

That’s a hard question bro, because 1 week before I crossed the border into Afghanistan a group of tourist were assassinated, while I didn’t have anyone attack me, there was tension in the air. But the hospitality and mannerisms of 90% of people was amazing, it’s still under Taliban rule and as an outsider, you don’t know exactly what is acceptable and what is not! Although I never felt threatened by the Taliban, they are not to be messed with! So in all honesty, I think Afghanistan is reasonably safe, but when it goes wrong in Afghanistan, the consequences are high, which could cost you your life! But I think walking the streets of London or New York there is a higher chance of getting mugged or shot dead than in Afghanistan! It’s a hard question to answer bro. I loved the place, it’s my #1 favourite country, and I would love to return, but there is some risk, but there is so much magic to see there too!

Nonsense. It's Dari and it's generally used by all ethnic groups. Ethnic tajiks in actuality are around 5% of Afghanistan's population. Many of them came as refugees from what is now tajikistan in the early 1900s, after their land (tajikistan) was occupied by the Soviets.
