I'm seeing Rotting Christ here in Adelaide (Australia) on May 8th. Words can't express how happy I am ! Halley's Comet passes over more frequently than we get awesome international bands coming to Adelaide. Of course we do have our own great local metal scene and community. I liked the riff in this,it was solid and had just a really good sound to it. The vocals we're so fitting, and it was perfect for what it is. Great artwork on the video and the low,kind of chant talking threw out was super cool.
I'm in love with Rotting Christ. Specially with the albums from 2000's. Never heard any other band with rythm, melody, lyrics and history like then. In the begining, they sound like any other Black metal band. But at some point, the the rise came with so much quality and enviroment. Awesome.

When Rotting Christ start using Greek, it's always goosebumps. Funny thing, this song yesterday sent me to the Wiki page for emperor Julian and now I want to return to uni and learn a ton of shit about late antiquity. He is a very interesting figure. The words in the beginning "You have conquered, Nazarene" (paraphrased, I don't know Greek) are rumored to be said by him shortly before his death - but apparently only Christian writers claim that. Dude I need to learn more now. Rotting Christ does this to me a lot 😅 I need to go and preorder an album now...
Check out another classic Greek black metal band called Kawir. They sing in ancient and modern Greek, and often use spoken word. Favourite song is probably To Cavirs from 1997 but the recently released album is EPIC

I still remember when i was in one of the 2 shops that moved "metal" merchandise and music around in my city.. I was inside the shop, checking for t-shirts, one of them from rotting christ. So i was talking to the owner, testing albums, already had decided to get that shirt anyway.. so i was checking albums to see what i was going to buy and another guy came in and started checking the very same shirt.. Oh man, i still feel a bit sorry and embarrased, but my visceral reaction was to jump in front of the guy and tell him "sorry guy, this one is mine" and took it almost from his hands.. i still feel a bit sorry, a bit embarrased and bit amused about my reaction.. I was like a bear mother defending her cubs...Oh man...Fucking rotting christ forever. NON SERVIAM. By the way, since you seem instered in super cool 90s european bands, you should check a band called "Sirrah"... Seriously, you can thank me later. Btw, i say "guys" but in reality we were kids, 15 year olds ...
