- Renowned Freethinker Ravichandran C in conversation with Swami Sandeepanandagiri, the Acharya of School of Bhgavat gita at Trivandrum. The meeting held in April at SBG centre at Thrissur in the backdrop of Sandeepananda manhandled by some right wing religious fantaics who claimed themselves to be RSS activists. It was also alleged that the attack was planned and orchestrated by the devotees of Sandeepananda's spiritual rival Amrithanandamayi for criticizing her in public in the aftermath of the Gale Tredwell issue. This interview was published in the May edition of 'Pachakutira' Magazine by DC Books, Kottayam

The real comedy is: while they are trying to be more intellectual than the believers they fail to understand, THE TRUTH they want to establish is only the product of other different perceptions of life. This universe is about billion realities. Truth is just a belief and that comes from the very demand for the survival of an individual, society, or a nation. Some people live or survive speaking about spirituality and some people live and survive speaking against spirituality and those people. Well, between our meals, everything is pure entertainment. When nobody is perfect in any field and everybody's insight is limited to his knowledge and experience, how can anybody conclude and assert on any issue, especially about God, religion and spirituality? Moreover, nobody can assess any subject without prejudice, as everybody is confined by the chain of country, state, region, religion, caste, creed, faith and motives. Why, look at the various spiritual leaders. They all differ even on significant aspects.

Bharatiya darshanam is too vague. It certainly do not contain elements imported into India. Political or religious etc. Swami is giving vague replies. Ravi is much clear and bold and to the point.

This fellow want to debate politics with a sanyasi. The sanyasi is dispslaying his integrity of his own mind and vision. Sanyasi is not interested in tharkam with him because it is the subject that this fellow is debating is from a wandering mind. Wandering is the reason he is searching for some power to help his own helplesness. A soul with restlessmind will seek gurus. This fellow is not happy with most of the gurus he met in his life. but he seems to be very impressed with this little sanyasi. But i would ask him to keep searching for the sad guru who gives all the answer to your wandering mind and put an end to your own suffering and the suffering in whole world.

5. All that is old is not pure/correct. All that is new is not too (they might at best be the most recent)
6. As far as Swamis/Gurus/Teachers go, the listners are only entitled to distill the goodness in their speech, not to continously explore their credentials. If ever you want a person with clean credentials as your guru, you are looking for a person not born. We didn't check the morarility of the moral science instructor in our school days(neither the physical constitution of our physics teacher or the chemical imbalance of chemistry teacher, or the the biological maturity of biology teacher :) ). So why does spirituality expect the instructor to be different. After all these exercises are for continued improvement of humans, right?

Those who have given Swamihood to Sandeepananda Giri must take steps to withdraw the same, because of the contempt he shows for those who follow Bhakti Marga (like Amritanandamayi Devi) for self-realisation. Bhagawan has made it very clear in Bhagavad Gita (which this aswami claims to know well) that there are four routes for self-realisation and all are equally valid. And there are several stories about Bhagavan’s preference for Poonthanam’s Bhakti over Bhattathiri’s Vibhakti. His overall attitude clearly shows that he is full of jealousy, contempt, arrogance and simply does not deserve to be in this dress. Arrogance of the questioner, who claims to the Richard Dawkins of Kerala, is understandable because he is only an English teacher who is simply not equipped to understand the intricacies of Science and Spirituality. Little knowledge is always dangerous and hilarious for listeners. He is a classic example of that. He is at best a good joker.

he said in a TV channel that women should not be allowed in sabarimala temple as Ayyappa is a bramachari.When the court asked the govt.for it's suggestion on the issue of women entry, an atheist govt.naturally supported entry of women of all ages by submitting an affidavit before the court. This Girl swami came to the govt's position he immediately changed his stand and swallowed what he had said earlier. This sort of attitude on his part is deplorable .He is not a real swami and has no right to speak about spirituality.
