Gotta say, overall, Disney generally exceeds Universal. If I had to pick, I’d take a Disney park over a Universal one any day. That being said, there’s always fun to be had at Universal, and the company has really been stepping it up as of late, causing Disney to up their game as well. Harry Potter initially caused Cars Land on the West Coast, and then Pandora on the East, and now Galaxy’s Edge on both and Toy Story Land on the East. I hope this competition continues, because as a Disney fan and a fan of theme parks in general, life’s just getting better.
It was my biggest dream to be a Disney Imagineer.. however I have been accepted to the Universal Creatives and I will begin my internship for them this Jan. I don't feel like this is second place. Can't wait!!!
It seems every "generation" of WDI comes with someone who just feels as if they live and breathe Walt. There are tons of amazing Imagineers in WDI but, there is just that something about Joe that makes you believe he is working to keep Walt's dream alive. It isn't just a business to him, it is an art. He doesn't just look at it as what they can do for park guests etc. To him, it is so much bigger than that. You can feel that sense of accomplishment that oozes from him as he finishes a project like Everest. The way he talks about projects as if they are his children versus just part of his job. He truly is something special and I hope Disney is smart enough to never lose him.
I feel like that Universal will just be that theme park down the road where you’ll want to go to every-now-and-then, but Disney will take you somewhere in another world completely. Sure Universal has all of the exciting thrills for teens and young adults, but Disney makes thrill rides even better with its theming. So if I had to choose which side, it’ll be Disney. I might be a bit bias since i’ve been going to this place my whole life, but whatever. It’s only my opinion
What Coup doesn't realize is that he IS Universal's Marty. The firs time a Universal park beats a Disney park's attendance figures (in the region), Thierry deserves a large portion of the credit for what he's done/doing.
This is tough because one is superior in just about every way, in my opinion. So it's kinda weird to ask your opposition to comment on what most people know to be the truth. Good effort though lol.
Josphelli as a lifelong Disney fan myself you are not giving credit where credit is due. If you don’t see the Harry Potter lands as an experience you are blinded by your bias. Universal upped the ante. Until Pandora, Disney had not done anything on that level of scope theming-wise outside of DisneySea (which I have been fortunate enough to visit as well). Also, Universal has been beating Disney on new ride technology for years. Only now with Flight of Passage has Disney put out a truly high-tech ride on par (or better than) what Universal has done. Granted Universal has never done AAs as well as Disney, but you can’t say Universal is really inferior anymore. They are now equals and Universal is catching up.
PeteC75 one land doesnt beat Disney overall. Look at the attendance numbers, revenue, assets etc its not even close. Universal got Potter because Disney passed since JK wanted too much control. An error by Disney but it kept universal alive. They have not passed Disney by any stretch if the inagination. Universal is competitive because they have so many former Disney workers and inagineers there. Yes Disney is slower on the transition of new rides but we have a better infrastructure and experience than universal could ever implement. They are still copying WDW by building more resorts to try to keep people on property, an idea we had in the 80s! They want to build another park but they are limited with the expansion land they purchased, cant be used for a theme park. So dont think Potter makes Universal superiro, that's flat out wrong.
Universal also thrives off the business Disney brings to Central Flroida and LA area and they know that. They follow Disney everywhere and fail where we arent. Universal are building a park in Russia, we will see how that goes.

I wouldn't put Toy Story Land in the same tier as Galaxy's Edge, Pandora, Diagon Alley, Cars Land, and Nintendo World
*Disney and Universal IPs start sweating*

Cisco De Leon CONGRAAAATSS!!! 😍😍
Being a part of Universal Creatives has been a dream of mine! How did you make it?

No one compares to Joe. No one.
Elon Musk.

M same
Bruh universal has theming too, have you seen hagrids or velocicoaster? Those rides easily have way better themeing then a lot of Disney rides

Josphelli hsilak which one is superior? I’m curious because everyone has such a polarised opinion
Matthew Cobain haha Disney, hands down. Universal is a theme park, Disney is an experience. I don't think there's any place on earth like it.
