the best stats to gauge how good a player is depends n the position. Just know for an SP a 4.00 era is like average (like a 15 PER in basketball) and around ~.700 OPS is average for hitters. Advanced stats you should also care about are WAR (wins above replacement), FIP (field-independent pitching), and Runs created. Another good gauge for pitchers is WHIP, ideally, you want it to be as close to 1 as possible (elite guys will be under one) but it depends on the pitcher's style (contact vs strikeout). Those are like the basic stats you need to know but everything else is really up to how you want to build your team. hope this helps :)

Is a stat is something+, it means that 100 is average. OPS+, ERA+, wRC+, etc For instance, as of today, Tim Anderson has an OPS+ of 163, which means he is 63% better than average. Yasmani Grandal is basically the complete opposite of that with his OPS+ of 56. Michael Kopech has an ERA+ of 395, so he's almost 4 times better than an average pitcher in terms of ERA.
Kenny, D.L Hall's walks per nine rating is super low, especially for a stater. If he continues to struggle, you should think about moving him into the bullpen as a middle relief/setup guy. He has good stuff and if he pitches less innings his numbers might not be as inflated.
