I want your scam to succeed and I believe in your vision, however, the last 6 months have been a complete degeneration in communication. Keep in mind when they swapped to UE5 from UE4 they had to recode a large amount of shit. It makes sense where the games at now if you consider that. So technically it’s almost as if the game has only really been being developed for the past 3 years.
They got the money, they had the time, but maybe the problem is the people working on the game all along. Only two possible ways, either its a scam and they do all of this on purpose or there are leeches and really bad devs and artists on their team.
After a while people actually can sue. If they can find a video of him stating "this is a test, and we will be releasing the full game in a year". Than the full game isnt released after a year or more people could possibly sue for the false advertisement. You just have to find the loophole in some video of his own in order to actually go after him and the company for their scam. Sadly though, it seems he is very good wording it, and making sure they dont say something that could actually get them sued.
Steven was an Archeage enjoyer and he is using their business model by releasing the same game over and over in hopes it sticks. Archeage, Archeage 2, Archage Unchained, ArcheWorld, Archeage Chronicles.
Throne and liberty looks better but I will say that ashes combat, at least for melee, feels better. Still kinda cluncky but I do have hopium they will polish it up and hopefully it will launch in the next 10-20 years. EDIT: I was also in alpha 1 and have spot tested all the way till this alpha 2 launch. This is 100 percent a a test, the devs consistently hop into discord and ask for feedback and actually listen. You can literally see major improvements in the patches the next day or 2 days later. My biggest concern is that they havent gotten as far as I had hoped compared to alpha 1 which I think is due to them porting the game over to unreal 5. I will not gas AOC up but I do think it genuinely has potential but Mr. Stevens scope of the game might be alittle to much.

I decided to back the game for 400$ lmao, I also backed Crowfall, Camelot unchained, and considered backing chronicles. Of all the ones I backed AOC is the only one that has actually did anything so I do have some hopium and copium but Im also a realist and I am defintly concerned about these coming months. I think its make it or break it time for AOC.

I'm pretty sure TnL was in development for over 10 years. If I have my facts straight, it was originally supposed to be Lineage Eternal which was arpg like lost ark. It was scrapped and turned into TnL so I don't think it's a good comparison. TnL was also developed by an experienced studio that has been around for over 25 years. Ashes is being created by a new studio that has had to grow as the dev. Yes, Ashes alpha 2 is far from a complete game and has a road in front of it but TnL also had it's own bumpy road it went down.

Other devs would release their game and then put all the content as dlc that Thor put in his base game. So this is not even close for a comparison. Also there has been free demo available to everyone and the demo simply consists of the first chapter of the game and not just some kind of shitty version of the game.
When a triple A game release I would consider watching review or waiting for sales to happen before buying it and here AOC is selling access to incompleted game for 100$ which is way more than a triple A completed game

Also the perpetual grind/toon remake - people have been doing that with like the past 5 years of classic wow re-releases, which effectively end up being seasonal servers. Or they played private servers that often get deleted. People will play something over nothing.
