My moms (yes like Caspar’s) introduced me to this song when I was in junior high in the 80s and I was immediately obsessed. When I heard the opening chords of this song in the episode I lost my f’n mind. I love this version so much.
Came to this episode for the first time the other day and was smiling from ear-to-ear the entire time. It's just such a wonderfully delightful moment, from the absolute last character you'd expect it from. Immediately shot Ava to my favorite character in the show. The actor knocked this one out of the park.
i do not know if you are aware, but this song is based on actual events. a big U.S. city (i want to say boston, but i could be wrong) would open the summer trying to control their pigeon propulation by poisoning them. hence the opportunity for satire. thank you.
Raise a toast to Tom Lehrer and Doctor Demento!
We LOVE this Podcast!
Thank you for listening!
I sang this for my final year degree recital. Never thought I'd hear a modern recording of it. I love Tom Lehrer
The voice actor for Ava had a lovely voice! This is my favorite rendition of the song. I hope she sings more!
She is a multi-intrumentalist and iirc a trained singer as well.

I desperately need this version on Spotify as its own track!
This song genuinely made me smile and laugh while listening to this episode, I love it!
At first I didn't recognize the song, but as soon I heard the chorus it hit me.
Of course Ava's a Lehrer fan. It would make less sense if she wasn't!💙
Oh hell yeah its on youtube I dont have to go into the episode just for the songs!

There is something about the dark humor when she says "cyanide" that gets me XD
