You were one of the best. You introduced me to Plato's Allegory of the Cave, and now I'm studying philosophy. I remember thinking at the time that Plato seemed full of himself, and now that I've read the entire Republic, I know it's true. Just sharing so you know the good you managed to do in 5 years.
Great video! Congrats on teaching high school straight out of college and navigating that age dynamic for five plus years. I am in my sixth year of teaching seventh grade. I too am an introvert who finds the job way overstimulating and having to anticipate kids ( and parents) daily behaviors is daunting. Nevertheless, I have made great strides as a teacher and will teach one more year before leaving.
As a current teacher looking to leave and was just recommended this. Thank you. This was really helpful to be heard and you did a great job. Loving the sports content as well. Would love to hear more about what happened 9 months later.
@@jimmyivmusic I have never been happier. However, I have my wife’s income as a buffer and financially stable for now which is allowing me to pursue this channel in the hopes of making it something. Not everyone has that privilege I recognize. Looking back, even without this, I would tell myself to leave and find a different career. As hard as that would be - but keep in mind I was MISERABLE. There’s life on the other side.

Actually in the start of pursuing music myself and your story was quite awesome to hear as it is in a lot of ways similar to mine. Currently looking for other jobs so that I can be financially stable while I pursue music. Love your sense of humor in the content, not even a big sports guy but do really enjoy the vids and I will share around. Hope the best!
I made it through student teaching and knew it wasn't for me. Never looked back and have a career that fits my personality and lifestyle much better. Cut yourself some slack. You NEED downtime as an introvert. You DESERVE something that makes you jump out of bed in the morning. Your daughter is going to be so much happier with her life if you show her how to live it.

Yes, teaching was exhausting. I literally got on anti-depressants because I was just so mentally drained and I could not do anything. I also left mid year(November 30th to be exact) I do give you kudos for lasting 5 years. I only lasted a year and a half and was out. The education system is an absolute shit show which why teachers are leaving in droves.
Thanks for your comment. I hear you! I think my district is still living in the effects of COVID 2.5 years later. I’m sure a lot of districts are. The system is certainly broken. Hope you find a better fit 😊

I am an INFJ too! 5w4. I quit yesterday. It felt so good. It is scary, but I know you and I both will find something else that is fulfilling.
Ignore others people’s comments and do what’s best for you and your family. Only teachers know what they go through every day.
