Both guy's last performances come from them both being from a lower weight class. Plus people are used to them just walking through guy's. You can't just walk through everyone. Sooner or later, a guy comes that can take your punch. That has legs and can jab, and he likes to fight too. N, he's a natural, too. He's also been boxing since he was 8. That's when you see who a fighter is.

Aren't both fighters? Lol, fact they take this fight shows.. It's a "risk" for Benavidez, I'm with him but I got it 50/50 rly, Morrel is rly good & has slightly more power than Benavidez. Ofc he puts something against that so I think it will just be a long hard exciting fight & i think it's almost impossible to beat Benav on points. 50/50 for me.
I'm with you on it being 50/50... I think we'll find out about Morrell's power quickly... soon as he lands a straight left, will DB keep pushing forward or will he be a bit more calculated when trying to get inside? That's going to be super telling for me...
It went exactly as I said it would. David Benavidez dominated the fight and won 9 out of 12 rounds there’s no disputing it but I wouldn’t expect to see the Canelo fight ever. He’s never going to fight David. Canelo has never really been hurt in a fight in his entire career and David would viciously hurt him And Canelo knows it. I am 100% certain we will never see that fight.
Yeah I had it about the same ... uploading a recap now actually... I think 8-4 Benavidez is the closest you could legitimately do (115-111 like two judges had it basically) but ultimately, Morrell didn't fight a smart fight and Benavidez made him pay for it.
And I've given up on Canelo vs Benavidez already lol. Benavidez vs. Bivol/Beterbiev I have hope for ... for now at least.
I would suggest watching Aidos vs Morrell. That was a guy who was very similar to Benavdiez. When Morrell doesn’t feel a threat, he usually plays around. And Rod was def higher level than Gvozdyk at 37 coming off retirement.
I have of course, just not particular to this, because i wanted to specifically work off their most recent fights, both of which were jumps to 175 with similar reactions from people regarding their performances.

As long as DB doesn't reach with his right, or square yp, he's got little to fear from Morell's right hook. Expect Morell to be backing up after round 5. DB by decision and there will be 🔥 fights. Can't wait.
Yeah, wouldn't surprise me... one thing I want to know is how DB reacts to Morrell inevitably landing a flush straight left... if he just walks right through or if Morrell's power is legit... and yeah, I like the card in general. Co-main is fire.
Morrell stated himself in an interview with Marco Antonio Barrera that he doesn’t plan on running from Benavidez..he plans on standing his ground and trading with Benavidez.. which is a bad idea.. benavidez will counter in between shots and possibly hurt him.. morrell has a suspect jaw.. hot rod definitely deterred morrell from being aggressive with straight rights.. and Benavidez hits harder and throws combinations.. I think Benavidez will steamroll right through morrell.. morrell showed too many weaknesses in his last fight against hot rod.. he’s definitely not ready for Benavidez..
Yeah guys are all talk in this sport, you know that lol. If Morrell does want to stand and trade, then yeah, I think Benavidez breaks him down and wins... if he boxes smartly, uses his range as I outlined, though, I think he wins a close one.
Benavidez is rightly favored... to me, it comes down to who can take control of this fight, in terms of pace and tempo, especially early.
@ yea maybe morrell can win on points that way.. but the judges may not favor that fighting style and still give it to Benavidez.. morrell is still young and doesn’t know how to control his emotions, so even if he tries to just box, Benavidez will drag him into a slugfest at times.. similar to the press conference.. morrell acts chill but then Benavidez gets under his skin and morrell loses his cool..
You raise a good point about composure... reason why I love this fight is we have a lot to find out about both guys (Morrell espeically, of course)... and almost any outcome determines that we will...

I have a split decision benevides or draw. Cause be down 4 of 6 then come. Might even get dropped once. But to much pbc has to lose. He as well

I'm having a tough time with both fights, though I expect Cruz to win... Fierro is really tough. Fierro hasn't been stopped but if Cruz is getting on the inside successfully, I actually think him getting a stoppage is possible.
For Figueroa-Fulton, Figueroa has just looked better lately. I think Fulton is great but the Inoue fight (and long layoff after) might've changed him. I lean Figueroa.
