My god his telling of such a simple story is engaging! Entertaining to look at, so well spoken and, last but not least, gorgeous looking 😁 Can't stop watching this. The way he bits his lip... oh my 😅
funny thing. Paul McGann was first cast as Richard Sharpe. He had an accident which forced him to drop out, and everybody knows who got the lead (in the sharpe series) then.
So what he's saying is the cast and crew had to pretend to move, even though they weren't moving on the ship, so everyone was moving differently from side to side? i'm a little confused.
Hornblower IS too handsome - perfect skin and teeth are too good to be authentic. But that is what the audience wants. This is "prettied up". They also do not show how sailors urinated or defecated - or ate rats on long voyages. Still I think the Hornblower character's acting is convincing. I agree that Bush looks more realistic - like a man rather than a pretty boy.
Lol such a funny story, I wish they had made more Hornblower episodes, incredible series and brilliantly acted

it's such a short little story, but the way he tells it makes it so hilarious, could watch this video over and over.
I could listen to his wonderfully sweet voice all day long =)
I love his Doctor Who audio dramas.
Cheers!
I loved that series but this is Hilarious! Paul McGann has the best stories.
Paul is so awesome! I just love his voice.
Would love to see him in person at a con, especially if his Q&As always end up this funny! He's just adorable.
Hornblower is just amazing
I wish there were more interviews to be found like this! God, I want to know more stories about it's making of!

Irish and charming and warm and wryly funny. Dear Paul. :-)
I love how McCoy immediately knows how to get "movement" into the scene...
me too! i could listen to it all bloody day
I laughed until little tears leaked out of my eyes. He's hilarious.
I was looking through my "Favorites" list and found this...still love it...will never not be hilarious!
Wonderful Paul! He's so fun
If i was the guy with the stick, I'd be trolling them so hard.
it's a pity that 'hornblower' had ceased production
I know Paul McGann doesn't like to do Conventions, because he doesn't think he's entertaining. My God is he wrong.
Thanks for filming and posting!
Ah, that was SWEET. and funny, rather amusing.
when his character was apparently mortally wounded in Horatio Hornblower: Retribution I was sure he was going to regenerate :D
Thanks fuploading that! XD That was hilarious & I adore Paul's voice. :)
xxx
Brilliant video 5 stars *****
That was great! Thanks for sharing!
He looks so young and handsome here 😍😭 When was this?
after watching this i may now actually feel a little sea sick.
@bananacube but his family is Irish, moved to Liverpool during the Famine I believe. watch The Hanging Gale
i met him last night.
x3 He's hilarious!
So funny!!! Is there any more?
We don't see enough of this guy on TV, he was great in the Monocled Mutineer as well. Maybe he is not Left Wing enough?.

aren't we all related SOMEhow ;)
Hi Mr boosh
Hilarious
But damned your eyes for maligning Horatio Hornblower The Series! Lol
It sounds like he went on holiday by mistake
Nonsense, his thumbs have gone weird ^^
man Bush was such a prick to styles, even though styles saved his life more than once haha

How is he described in the books?
