Make sure you gotta an evenly heated pan
Also don't use butter on the surface you use it with create crispy burns and pockets which will give you more of a homemade look but if you want the the signature flattop pancake look just use a very thin layer of butter on the flat surface

Lpsdoughnutgirl IHOP pancakes are like 8 bucks. That's not pricey at all. If you get sides it's like 12 bucks. Pretty affordable.
