Step 1....Wrap in electric blanket. Step 2....Turn up thermostat. Step 3....Light beeswax candle. Step 4....Open red wine.....Step 5...Invite the dog, enjoy the winter sounds and wonder. Cheers!
Thank you for making this video. Beautiful winter camping. Enjoyed it. The older I get, the more the cold gets to me. Just seems to seep into my bones and causes pain. So Winter camping is out for me now. Still enjoy the spring and fall camps though. Thanks again.
Thanks Bobby. Appreciate it. I can relate. I had circulatory issues growing up and the cold really got to me. I practiced something called Wim Hof method a few years ago and that helped me out significantly.
Wonderful! It seems that one of the advantages of the M05 tarp is being quiet...though I have not made scientific sound measures, it seems a bit less rustling, yes! I just don't like the swiss army knife...for something small my choice is the italian ExtremaRatio KN1 (old model)...I just cant help loving those tiny blades! Stay well, stay strong...!
This is excellent as always Jess. Some how I had missed this on your feed! But you know what, I'm going to pavk a bag and go for a mission for a few hours, its been too long 😅
At the :50 mark during the intro couldn't help but think that some lonely female yeti sees that and he's not going to have any problem staying warm during the night! Great video Jess!
Lol Ah man, you know about Coconuts!? 🤣...😐 Thanks Scott! Have a good one! ps- fun fact, the Sasquatch in the old Gimlin footage from the 60s, that was a female.
Awesome camp there. Nice food too . Do like your vids when I can catch them . Lovely to have a nice fire right by your setup. Sadly can't often do that here ( UK) what with wild camping being illegal. So have to be a little stealthy . Anyway hope you and yours have a fantastic Christmas 🎄 👌🏕
Hey Buddy. I remember you telling me that you didn't think I would need the Fur Suit from Russian Cold Cammo but it sure felt good this weekend with the temperature down to 5° Fahrenheit here in North Alabama. Merry Christmas Brother.
Great Video Jess Your minimalist approach is inspiring. We are going to see snow and -30 C for the next week in Northern Alberta Canada. Good time to test gear and skills. All the best to you and your tribe. Cheers
@@EnduranceRoom I just got it a few days ago (100g) insulated model. I’ll keep in wind when I get out in the field for a test. Thanks again for your content and advice.🤟
Really cool pack and shelter. Your self-reliance skills are a dying breed- too many people these days rely on someone else or the government to bail them out, which is scary. Thanks for taking us along and showing some skills. BTW- watch out for them Blackhawks flying around, there might be some government folk trying to spy on you- hahahaha- You and yours be well-
Thank you! It is a sad state we are in. Many seem to be waking up to the nonsense, but many are fully asleep. As for the birds, they have been flying quite a bit. Getting ready for something. Have a good one my friend!
Another great upload. You introduced some new gear! I like the bivvy/ poncho. Looks like you were wearing the Gorka 3 pants. What jacket did you choose, just curious? Thanks again.
Such a beautiful forest! Does it ever snow enough to need snowshoes? I’ve never used them, seems like it would be an interesting experience. As a gear junkie I LOVE your stuff!
Thank you! I had to use snowshoes in my last video. We definitely get some deep snow here and snowshoes (or skis) are pretty much a necessity. They are pretty cool to use, especially after you get a trail going. For deep powder, I like to use a bushcrafted set that are about 6’ long. Those are fun. You just float on top. Have a good one!
Great video my brother 🙂 Down & dirty in the hawk 💪🏻 How far out were you from others? And were you ever able to put eyes on what kind of bird that was passing over your 20?
Thanks Susan! I mostly film on our property, about 40acres. I gotta stay reasonably close for family. The birds are black hawks. Been a lot of them lately. Training over the park. Lot of noise, sonic booms, etc. They gettin ready for something. Have a good one! ATVB
@@EnduranceRoom I see... 40acres huh?! They sounded awfully near to your location. And as I write this I hear one near me as well... Yes, definitely stay close. I also think that they're getting ready for something. Stay safe my brother 🙏🏼💞
No, I use a Klymit insulated pad and either a woobie, USGI field bag or intermediate bag inside the jerven depending on weather. I think I had the FDF ground mat underneath as well. That being said, the jerven is pretty awesome.
There are several Scandinavian retailers for gear so look around if the one provided here is t viable for some, I was able to get same gear from different retailer. Also you will pay an import fee and tax.
Temps were in the 20s. I had a summer weight patrol bag inside my jerven with a Klymit and insulated sleeping pad. Having the right gear and clothing makes all the difference.
hey friend...nice chunk of meat... vegans say to me one can survive there without this chunk of meat and have enough energy.. man.. I build a log cabin in my wilderness sanctuary ....no access no more by vehicle...yesterday I pulled a 80kg sled with stove and other building material behind me thru 2 feet of snow up hill down hill over some plain fields in minus 18c and 27c wind chill... about 3km ..took me 2.5h constant pulling dragging and lifting ... I think if I would have just eaten greens you could find me frozen in the field... but once again the gorka and russian 5th layer worked as expected ...nice and warm and the sweat froze on the outside of the gorka but nothing remained inside .. I send you pictures in the new year ill stay there a week to get most of it done..
Hey Torsten! Meat is a necessity for me. I tried all plants years ago and regret it still. Felt good at first, then terrible. Weird part was, I couldn’t let go of it and just eat what I needed. Sled pulls a hard-work, but make you strong. Best of luck with the cabin! Sounds like an excellent project. Will be looking forward to seeing it. Have a good one my friend. 🤝
Thanks for watching everyone. If anyone is interested in gear I was using on this trip, there is info in description. Cheers 🌲

Much appreciated my friend. 🤝
Great vid Jess. Beautiful Adirondack Mountains. I appreciate all your time in making this vid. Nice angles and night shots. Beautiful scenery.

Good stuff Jess . Powerful little headlamp. Have a great day
Thanks John. It’s solid, although the battery isn’t so great in the cold. Have a good one.
Yet another great video mate, I'm obviously a big fan of simplicity and minimalist approach to being under the trees . Keep up the good work.
Thanks Paul! I like running different gear here and there, but nothing like keeping it simple and efficient. Cheers
What a snowy landscape. I love it. Your camp is also set up well and your food looks delicious. Have a nice weekend to you. 🤠

Typical, been checking these out for a long time now, now they’re in stock, I’m skint!☹️. Shame they don’t do the woodland camo in 100g insulation.
I recommend the non-insulated one, the insulation is as good as a summer sleeping bag, (I have both) but way more expensive. Duct tape for the win.
And where is the Snowstorm? Tinder from home?:-((
I filmed it and yes, tinder from home as this is my home. Cry some more.

How does the Finnish Thermal cloak compare to your Russian P.P.?
Similar concept, just modernized and a little larger. I wish the plash was the size of the Fin cloak.

Just get the Bahco Laplander
