Same, when I first saw his channel and a few videos, I thought he was weird, but he had similar humor as me, so I watched him more, and now when he uploads, I get really excited
instead of decontaminators that need fuel to do work, i built more construction huts and manually went around and selected demo on all the poison plants and balls, and set them to high priority, pausing all the farmers and cookers so every worker i had was out demoing the poison when it became that time. then after every poison plant is gone, i paused the construction huts and put everyone back to work into farming and cooking.
OK. We are assigned to do the risky business of eliminating the poison plants. Some of you may get infected but we’re currently running low on fuel. We need more fuel for the Pyro is to do their job so we are the final line defense against the spores.
@@thedbdentity2102 🤣too bad i made no fuel, and besides even the pyros get ill, so healers are always on duty during this time, else nothing gets done, i even had to build 2 healer buildings and fully populate them when this time comes. most of the time one healer is fine
Actually, using the decontaminators is way easier, because they automatically target the poison plants, without you doing anything, it helps loads because sometimes you're just in the verge of running out of food or water lol... The only downside is that you DO need a lot of biogas to keep them running, I literally had to get 3 poo collectors to feed 2 decontaminators efficiently, but that's only 10 workers out of the chain at worst, so it's not too bad on the resources 🤷♂️
@@lXlDarKSuoLlXl Easier I'll give you, but I focused on farming and storage of said food. Then when I need everyone to work, they eat from storage instead.
Matt, mate, you don't need to select the poison plants if you activate the decontaminators BEFORE you reach the poison forests, they auto target everything, but they do need a TON of biogass...
The Wandering Village is such a unique and great city builder game. I haven't seen one similar game where you can build on a big creature like this. This is amazing.
I found you can effectively plague-proof your city once you have around 100 villagers, it just takes a minute to work out how everything works. The incredible benefit of the flamethrower guys is that they choose their own targets, you only need to target areas you need harvesters to help with. The flamethrowers are really good but each pooper scooper only get 20 dung per crap, and onbus only crap so often. 2 compost heaps are enough to keep up with as many pooper scoopers as you can fit on his butt. The flamethrower guys target the closest plant to their building, so you have to spread the buildings out. 3 spaced out along onbu's back is enough to suppress infections when they start even not fully staffed, but fully staffed you won't even notice that it happened. You need a lot of storage so you can make biogas ahead of time for them to burn up all at once. Once you're set up right they get it done faster and thus burn less fuel though, so you'll be able to make compost for your farms most of the time and just switch to biogas after you've used some to refill storage. I also found that I could get effectively infinite resources just from 3 scavenger parties, and you only need to cut trees and dig rocks if they're in the way of buildings. If you place a building over resources, the builders will clear those resources automatically. So, once you've built your first scavenger post every villager you might have made a harvester should be flamethrower. Most of your bums should be carriers, and placing the food trucks everywhere stops them from spending all day walking back and forth for snacks because the walk for snacks made them so hungry. Also, careful with the priority tool. Once you give a bunch of objects top priority, the tool is useless as you can't make them do one of them first without relabeling all the others. Whenever you go 'oh my god we gotta do all this right now', you should be using the lowest elevated priority (high, one arrow). Then when you realize that *these ones* need to happen the most because your food is there, you can give them a double arrow. Only use the triple arrow for that one fast thing that should be happening on the side, like when a plant puts a hole in your road. It doesn't seem like it at first but the roads matter a lot. Not just for the speed boost but without roads their pathfinding sucks and it seems like buildings can't see unconnected stored resources. Think like timberborn, you forget one tile of path and the whole city starves to death. The stone roads are really good but be warned your builders wont just upgrade the road, they will demolish the entire old road first so if you place more stone road than you have stone slabs on hand you'll have fucked up roads for a long time.
Once you get set up well like that though the game gets really chill, you just cruise at 4x speed and spend most of your time on map view and negotiating with your onbu to avoid hazards.
7:06 what would be good is if they had new areas you could open up on his back, tail, neck & legs etc that could be used to build stuff.. see how there are different platforms on him like the sort of step agriculture of the Inca or something.. and when you unlock a certain tech you can build BRIDGES to unlock those new areas
Sad to see the end of this series, hope you'll come back to it when a few more content patches drop. Looking forward to seeing what else you have for us in the meantime!

I just got to watching his content. City skylines drew me in, now I'm invested. Great content! And even better "content" portraits within your vids hahaha
The burners not hitting an infected object unless you specifically tell them seams a bit too disruptive to gameplay. It should be they explore Onbu for infected spots but only burn them if they get near them. And you can mark objects to give them a location to go towards. Directing them but they still do their jobs without your micromanaging.
OK new lessons. Instead of waiting for specific orders to take out infected plants that are right nearby common walkways scout for infection. Do it preemptively instead of having to be ordered. Yes sir
We've only been saying since you made your first compost pile, Matt... MAKE SOME BIOGAS so you have FUEL FOR YOUR DECONTAMINATORS you architect thinking you can just make it when you need it.
That dune is already harvested, that's what the wood-colored x on the dune means. It's not super obvious on the dunes as it's pretty close in both color and brightness. If you're not familiar compare it to the two trees nearest the crossroads, of the pair the left one is harvested.
Someone from Matt's area of the world, help me out here: when he barely survives something, he says "I can't believe I just about survived that!" In the USA, if you were to say that, it would mean "I can't believe I almost survived that." Does "just about" mean 'barely' in your area of the world? Or is that just a Matt-ism?
I have watched so much RCE that I've started using the term "millard" (spelling) in my daily conversations. Folks here in Tennessee do not understand lol
You might wanna remember normal people can harvest/destroy poisoned plants...not JUST the decontaminators. Shut off everything you can afford to shut off and put them all to cutting out the poison.
You did not have enough gas for the decontamination people. You really should have paused some construction, paused 1 of the scavengers, added more harvesters cause they will remove the bad stuff too.
2:26 It bothers me that every turn your options are only north or south..if you go straight thats north, yes ok, but then you make a right and go south??????

I thought he said "they're like Austrians, head in the sand unless you tell them what to do,". I never do know about European stereotypes, you Europeans think really silly things about each other.
