    This is my favourite type of flower arrangement John. I love the natural loose look achieved with wire mechanics. It was lovely to see you picking the sunflowers ! The scissors look amazing. I think the arrangement would be beautiful in a lounge or large hallway.

    I love your floral designs and tips. I also love that you arrange a lot without floral foam and use more materials than are in a florist shop. I plant a large cutting garden every summer in a community garden in Ann Arbor Michigan. Following your tutorials has been inspiring, encouraging and fun because you tell me to have a go and make arrangements myself. I believe you and do!

    Hello John: Just enjoyed the show...9/5/24 as always...Like the idea of found materials along with store purchased.... Looks Great....! I have an entry sideboard that this would look great on. As for the Wazakura scissors, besides arrangements, I would possibly use them on a new passion of mine and that is Japanese Maples in Pots. I've collected 5 this summer and would like to keep them mobile due to the cold winters in Pennsylvania....can move them in the garage. The scissors would help with keeping them trimmed and in shape. Continue the nice work on TH-cam...look forward to each new show. Jack in Berks County Penna.

      @@regularguy4402 thank you! These scissors will be perfect for your maples. Wazakura aims at both ikebana and bonsai - check out their videos and page and they show them used for this purpose.
      I once had a Scot’s pine seedling that I trained into a ‘bonsai’ it was fun to do and I’m sure it wasn’t perfect, but it was mine!

    After you finish with those sunflowers, please go a throw them back in the hedgerow. Then next year there will be plenty more. Technically you stole food from the birds, and they will come and find you. LOL!

    I'm a 70 year old who's just started a City and Guilds Level 2 in Floristry after a lifetime in nursing and care - and it's your fault! I watched your videos for the 2 years I did flower arranging leisure classes and kept hoping I could learn to do what you do. So here I am back in a classroom in Glasgow for the first time in over 50 years. So would I like the scissors? Absolutely. But I'd much rather have your talent!

    Hi John .Gorgeous arrangement as usual, but sorry to say I'm not keen on the sunflowers, the wispy grasses look great. You say "autumny" I say 'springy" which is our season here in Adelaide S.Australia. The Wazakura scissors make trimming the stems a lot safer than the knife you usually use. Thankyou again for sharing your creativity.

    Thank you so much for showing us how to use commercial flowers and your own grown flowers or greenery or even things you collect from a walk in the woods blend together to create such a stunning arrangement! I recently started to turn my floristry hobby in a serious education to become a florist. So the shears would definitely be of good use to me.     I have never tried using my zebra grass as you have here, just blades, which didn't really last well at all. About how long will your zebra grass cuts as you've shown last, John?

      @@roxanneroehrig324 it last quite well - I think if you keep it as a stem, then it can access water better. Generally I would do that with any material if possible.

    What a co-incidence! I accidentally left my scissors behind and it was taken! It would be wonderful to win this. I've noticed some experts advocating the use of knives but prefer shears myself. What do you prefer and why? Gorgeous arrangement!

    Hi from the Scottish Borders. As always John, a wonderful arrangement. Often when I’ve bought flowers I need to add some greenery from the garden to bulk out an arrangement, so instead of using my kitchen scissors these Japanese scissors would be so much better 🙂 They’d also come in very handy at my floristry class that starts again soon.

Recently, you’ve used a lot of home grown flowers and foliages which is very eco-friendly and cost effective, and is very much what I like to do.
