Sorry about the peanus gallery. But for every bunghole, there are 100 of us who appreciate the knowledge and experience you share with us. I hope your appointment goes well (or went well) because we need you, Dave!
I see a lot of folks on youtube raise concerns about crappy comments. Seems like a lot of real people who are good at what they do, work hard, and are willing to put their work out into the world on video end up getting hit with a lot of garbage. It's unfortunate that negative stuff seems to stick in our heads more than the good stuff. Hang in there.
You said about another Precision Bass last year- stating, "I can peek in there like I'm a fucking idiot". Lol. Fender still does that with a non-useable truss rod notch. Long time viewer and fan of yours (and the TH-cam channel and Face Book page). I frequent the Friday Night Sandwich Hours and love the fun. Your sticker is on my bass case and I am proud to display it. Thanks to you, all my basses get set up with action set to 5/64s. Cheers, David. -Rick White (Pennsylvania, USA). Hoping your medical appointment goes well- best wishes! Oh, I and I wrote this in "the playing position".
Watching for years , since the old basement days . I can’t afford a patron , but hope you still know some silent viewers love your advice and humor . Hoping for a great doctor’s visit.
The cantankerous Dave is back! This is what I subscribed for long ago. Good luck divorcing Mr Pinchy, but hope it doesn't brighten your mood too much. We love you as you are.
Good luck Dave, hope the doctor can alleviate your pain with a minimally invasive procedure. Screw the haters, too many people nowadays like to spread their misery. And thanks for your help when I needed you!
Spacebook? Not me brother. I’m totally up front I post under my name. I got all the tools, but no vision. I can do simple stuff but am wise enough to know my limitations. I enjoy your craftsmanship. Your new song sounds a little like Ozark Mountain Daredevils cool.
Good luck tomorrow,Dave. Whenever I read negative comments on any of my favorite YT channels, I always visualize it as the same guy in a basement somewhere who is an expert in many subjects.
Good Luck with your appointment, sir ! Hope you have good news for your community! We need your sarcasm for another few years ! Lots of love to you, brother !!! I have learned a lot of you through your videos and lifetime experience with dickheads..Cheers Marco
Love the new opening.Let the naysayers talk, they don't matter. The rest of us enjoy all your videos(although I don't comment much lol)Praying doctor's appt. goes well!!!!
Well said, I used to do repairs while you wait. Just a few people I let come over anymore. It's like watching how the hotdog's made. The like to freak out. Peace bro.
Dave, I’m sorry you have to put up with d-bags who comment poorly. You are a master at what you do, and downright funny when the situation calls for it. Carry on, wayward son! Proud subscriber, and patron!
good job dave on this pretty bass. wow that neck and everything was way outa adjustment for sure. your the man with the plan and fixed it and i learned alot. thanks for sharing Dave
First off, Good luck tomorrow, Dave!!! We used to play the Banana Splits theme for our sound check song…(When we got a sound check). Funny as Hell, cracked everyone up, we should’ve made it an encore…😆 Put a lead after the 2nd chorus, kept the key change in, too. It was a great song to test vocals, harmonies, and the lead guitar solo levels. Our backline: 2 guitars through Marshall Majors with 4 1960 4x12” cabs each, a Peavey slaving an Ampeg SVT with the 2 8x10” cabinets and 2 18” Cerwin-Vega folded cabs, a 21-piece Rogers set, etc. we’d run about 115-120 db, unless we weren’t given the whole p.a., then we’d turn down our modded Major’s master volume…😁
I have the "retro" Nate Mandell P and why oh why did Fender think people want a "retro" truss rod adjuster buried under the pickguard. Taking the dam neck off to adjust isnt fun at all. Those good people at Stu Mac came to the rescue with a spoked wheel truss rod adjuster and a dremel on the pickguard cured my frustration at what is a very fine instrument. Why Fender couldnt have done this god only knows. Another fantastic video Dave, keep on plucking man
About 12 years ago I remember watching Dave work on a Tokai Hard Puncher, a P Bass copy, while enjoying a bottle of red wine. I also enjoyed the way Dave kept saying "Hard Puncher". (I was enjoying the wine, not Dave. Bad sentence structure.)
Hey Dave, 2 questions. How difficult would it be to use something like a Dremel and enlarge the truss rod access on the body/pickguard for easier access? Perhaps a service you could offer folks. Also, who makes the screw driver style hex wrenches that you use and where can I get a set? Here's hoping you get good news from the Doc!
I'm still going to comment whether you respond or not, because I know it helps your channel, and I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work, Dave!

Even after watching Dave do 100 p-bass setups, I still learn something new every time.
Good luck with your appointment, Dave.

The guitar community seems to REALLY attract the negativity.
There is too much ego in the guitar, bass and music gear communities online. Gooched minds. When you know how to enjoy, you know
haters gonna hate. pretty original. dork.
Your army is behind you. Great intro.
The Grumpiest Guitar Fixin Sumbitch on the Tubes. Love the channel Dave. 😎🎸🤘
