I started with 3 myself as I was born around the time of its release and it was one of the earliest games i remember playing as a kid, when 4 came out it scared me due to the music and tone and I played 5 more afterwards but as an adult 4 is my favorite in the series and I believe 2,3, tag, and 4 are the best times of the series because of the serious aspects and darker characters they had.

Tekken 4 and 5 are my favourite Tekken games of the Franchise. ☯️ By the way Tekken 4 had the best story and atmosphere no doubt. Also my favourite Tekken Intros of the series are 4 and 5. Especially Tekken 4, developers did a lot of things incredibly right, most storylines were incredibly cool and the atmosphere and seriousness was just on a another level. I don't think most would disagree that Tekken 4 had a great"everything-except-the-fighting" to it. Great and Epic soundtracks, unique character designs, good individual stories, and an interesting main Mishima arc revival. The thing is that it's still a fighting game and no matter how great everything else is, if the fighting bit is flawed it'll overshadow the positives. Tekken 4 is sourly the most unique and underrated (mostly because of the choices that hindered the competitive scene) but it is my favorite Tekken to date, because of the very seriousness Vibes of the Story aspects perspective. The seriousness atmosphere of Tekken 4 it's on another level in my opinion.The soundtrack is what gets me the most next to the game's atmosphere. With soundtracks like: Fetus(Prologue), Authentic Sky, Unihabited(Mall Area) Didgerhythm(Jungle Area) Touch and Go(Airport Area) and Kitsch(Beach Area) and The Inner Shrine(Hon-Maru Temple) and others soundtracks, For me Tekken 4 remains even in these days the most Unique Tekken game of the series. ☯️ 🤷🏻♂️✌️

Damn, I remember seeing that intro movie back then and thinking how real it looks. It was quite a jump from Tekken 3 movie graphics (which were also amazing for its time).
You ever realized that Tekken goes in 3 phases for each game? Gritty, Dark and personal. // Light hearted but still serious // Climactic, Action packed, new direction. Tekken 1 is dark and gritty, Tekken 2 light hearted but serious, Tekken 3 Climactic, new direction. Tekken 4 gritty, Tekken 5 light hearted but serious, Tekken 6 climactic, new direction, Tekken 7 dark and gritty. I don’t think Tekken 8 will be light hearted, I feel like g Tekken 8 will be the last Mishima bloodline game
I understand why some of the hardcore Tekken fans don't like this game but for me, it's one of my personal favorites especially when it comes to Aesthetics. Also it gave you one of my favorite second player outfits for Jin Kazama
