For this dive, advanced certification or deep specialty is required as the dive is down to 26m. Either way, I’m sure you will enjoy your dives in April! @@divingcapital About that advanced cert requirement. When did they start requiring that? All I've ever had since 1973 is an OW1 cert. Mostly I dive the Florida Keys. In about 1993 or 94 I drifted Palancar at 105fsw with just my OW1. When did that change?
Since 1993, we have learned as a diving community so much more about rules, efficiency, and standards that we need to have to be more prepared and safe in the water, we hope that you can give yourself the opportunity to learn why we have these new standards. Like the 18m limit for open water because of NDL/narcosis/etc coming into play at deeper depths that require more study and knowledge to dive more safely. Nowadays people can acquire their open water in 2-3 days where as back then it was multiple classes in theory, pool practice, and finally open water dives.
@@divingcapital My NDL has been 130fsw since 1974. Long before BCDs and computers. Not interested in Advanced OW SCUBA class, OTOH, I might be interested in a Nitrox course if you offer one.
@@jojodiver8706NDL varies with type of gas and depth and has nothing to do with certification level, however that is something we talk about in the nitrox course and how to extend your NDL by using the right gas mix. It’s actually one of our instructor, Daniel’s favorite courses to teach. He loves math and numbers 😂😊
