there's some bright hip hop, but I'm certain you are under-evaluating the levels of genius that whip and ripple through the metal community. Not to dis hip-hop specifically, but there is no music since the symphony hall compositions that has a scope as inspired, met by artists with artfully refined imaginations which grants them visions of denied realms and mysteries gaurded jealously by the pillars of physics and consciousness. Did you know that there is an extreme doom band from Sweden that their 2009 album beat Katatonia, Candlemass and some other Swedish giants and praised by everyone that year and nobody's really knows them?????
the very beginning reminds me of western spaghetti music, as if two foredoomed cowboys were to face off. The lucky one goes to hell, and the other, well...
Let's see.. says in the description that the band formed in 1992. Just did a quick Google search of MC Esoteric, and Wikipedia says he's been active since 1996. So... sounds like MC Esoteric stole the name of the black metal band Esoteric.
Correct... Band formed in 1992.. Early Esoteric refined their sound at Robannas studios in Birmingham and would rehearse Tuesday eve and Saturday night, and at band members houses.

This masterpiece ages very well.
This cannot be categorized as music, this is a experience to be lived ..to be felt each and every moment.
We don't need to bash on each other's preference of music genre. I love old-school Hip Hop and Doom Metal, both can be intellectual in their own ways.
The Maniacal Vale is one of the greatest exercises of pure art in modern times.
Amazing, the lead at 4:54 is the most beautiful thing I ever heard, such emotion. Long live Esoteric.
Remember listening to this at 16 now I'm 22 still love it
now you're 27

Very deeply hard and obscure feelings showed in a pure way
This song has some of the deepest lyrics ever..
Not a big Doom metal fan, but the solo in this song is one of my favorites.
the true kings of doom! a beautiful mournful wall of sound live.. immense, collosul enveloping womb of warm brutality.. got to love Esoteric...

Decay sets in amongst the fragments...
Such weight lies within knowledge
Crippled by thought
Eyes that see too much lose the will to see
And the pain that spills from these walls
Blasts through this withered body
The circle has begun
Time is not won
Losing this battle to remain
In this place
I dare not dream
For awakening the demons that will find me
Blinded by madness
Such endless probability
And I must know every thing and every thought
And I must uncover all answers sought
For sleep eludes when this frustration taunts
And drives me to release
Or travel towards end
--------break--------meditate on Black for a while----------------------------------
So dead inside
And all but to live on
Burning from within
Maddened eyes
Filled with boiling blood
Sullen
Grow sharper with the pain
To rest now
Until we meet again
Best song. Ever.
