Well done! But if you click on the attachment it is downloaded and not opened. There is a way to mantain the original behavior (open the file for viewing)?
Andrea, I looked high and low for an answer and the best I could find was a Microsoft message that basically said "working as designed." There must be some logic in the background that says if you use Power Apps top customize the form then download file. That seems a bit crazy to me since that is just a bunch of unnecessary downloads just to view a file. If I stumble across a work around I will let you know.
This video was super helpful!! Thank you! Now that I can drag and drop the files, how can I open the files without having to download first? Every time I try to open a file I had to download first.
Great video. Exactly what I need the list to do. I followed your directions on an existing list. Appears to work fine but I cannot get it to reflect the changes on the list. You said it can take a while for them to sync, how long is a while?
I figured this out. I had to update connectors to PowerApp. Once I did this it took about 5m and then it synced. Only thing is it's taking a bit to now load the SharePoint list form when I open it up to edit things and there is a big void space below attachments. Nothing I can't live with but wish it wasn't an issue.
Hi Michael, I think the Power Apps form in SharePoint works well. I have not yet experienced any issues after implementing this modification. It solved the problem presented by my coworker of needing to drag and drop files. However, I cannot say if it is better than using JSON since I have not learned how to use it. I am what you might call the classic citizen developer...I use the tools because my current job requires it but was not using SharePoint and JSON in the past. That being said, maybe someone will feel free to jump in and offer their perspective on this topic.
@@HeatherMajors ok cool thanks! Basically I’ll have 20-30 people constantly entering/ updating data on a list and my question was based on this. As long as the power app form opens and writes the data back to the list without hiccups this sounds like a better option than the basic list form. Thanks again!
Love this video.
You are maybe the only person on here that’s making simple, coherent videos about this. Cheers. Big respect
I appreciate your feedback. Glad you found the video useful.

I have yet to figure out why Microsoft makes you download the file first and have not come across a hack for it. If I do I'll make a post.
@@HeatherMajors Thank you so much!!!
So funny thing, I did not realize until after the video was posted that the T-shirt I chose is the same as the Power Apps colors.

Hi Jonathan, glad you figured it out. Thank you for sharing the fix so others can learn from your experience. 👋
Hi 👋🏼 How well does the power apps form work in sharepoint? Is it buggy? Is better than customizing the form using JSON?
