I wished they placed the ports on the top of the device rather than the bottom. with having them on the bottom I have to use angle adapters for making that circumstance less annoying.
I am in 2 minds about this 2. one part it works as a hand held like how I use my Gameboy so I am use to cables coming from the base. The other part is where I plug it into other gear in the studio and cables are all over the place. I have used it way more standalone and caring it in my backpack so it hasn't really been an issue for me, however I have an idea for a stand/ dock in the studio :).
Thank you for showing your thoughts. I’ve had the Mini for a month or so but haven’t done much with it (I use the M8 every day mostly because of the fast boot and sample loading plus the synth engines and the external speaker). I will give the Mini more attention given your recommendation. I also love the transitions and watching this channel get better and better! ❤🙏
I really hope they publish a bug fix patch as soon as possible. there are some major bugs to be fixed. Hopefully they expand the number of sample slots after the Mini has way more Sample Memory as the OG Tracker.
I think that is a wish on Polyend Backstage site so we will see. Making a video about making multi sample instruments like my drumkits as its been a big helper with my music making on the tracker. I feel they are working towards it as I have had to turn off crossing 0 a few times. Something I will follow and update with a video :).
Polyend is aggressive about listening to customers and pushing out updates. The tracker has had loads of fixes and improvement through late 2023! Love this company.
I got mine just a week ago, and it's already my favorite piece of kit I've ever owned. I used to walk around with a zoom kit to gather samples for my electronic music, and this is a gigantic shortcut to be able to record the sample, then immediately load and edit it. I just wish there were more videos on it. I get that people are upset about the build quality, and I've had some issues myself, but it doesn't take away the fact that I feel like I'm playing, and end up with nearly finished tracks, that just need to be mixed down in my DAW.
solid review. This device has been a joy to use. Build quality so far has been fine for me after 2 months of use. Sometimes I wish it had more sound altering effects but there are no perfect devices.
Great vid, I really like the way they thought out navigation on the device, it was super easy getting around and actually really fun to use. I didn't like the mushy feeling buttons, I found the screen at any angle other than straight on is hard to see and I missed a speaker even if it wouldn't have been the best quality. Overall I was disappointed with the build quality for the price. A better screen, nicer feeling buttons and a sturdier body and it would probably be one of my favourite devices of all time. I can see people loving it though as it is a great device, just build quality was not to my liking, may not be an issue for others.
bad seam alignment on Aisjam's model as well. Can't understand why more folk are not flagging this up in video's. It's a hand-held device, surely they must notice!?!
Im considering the Mini, I was set on a sp404mkii but this seems more interesting from the few videos I can find. Plus I won’t sell my old SP if I end up with Tracker Mini… 🤔
Haven't tried any of the SP404s yet but they are on my radar :), I have my MPC1000 as my big pad sampler. Will say that its a different workflow to my mpc however i enjoy it a lot and would be something new to try. I did a video earlier about software you can get for your pc to try out the tracker workflow if you want to have a go.
I picked up the Audio-Technica ATH-E40 as I have the ATH-M70x as my main headset. Still testing and maybe do a video but they are clear and can hear most of the spectrum. the low end is just perceivable, however its the trade off for something very portable. When I am just about to finish a track, I plug it into my studio monitors and check the mix properly.
One day I will have to get it. Don't feel I would struggle with it because using LSDj and Microfreak for a while now. it also has mate in the name :). just gotta beat that nice beach tax though when I get it.
@@SonicVibe I would say yes as I have a few LSDj-esk trackers, like pulsar with the original NES. At the time when I got my tracker. I was close to getting the M8, however wanted to try something different, and the Polyend Tracker gave me a more global view of the track. Not going to say one is better over the other, however I feel there is a bigger talking point about this macro/micro User Experience with music technology in general.
yes all i can say is besides the phenomenal sound out the m8 it's the way the button layout is that makes me feel like my hands take over and playing a video game . can't compare it to the polyend or any other tracker as it's my first the tables and fx's 3 per track are really fun as well @@Aisjam
What about that horrible noise when you switched to the mini's mic? If is like that... Pretty much useless for making samples. The noise was very present and I watched on a phone.

Thankyou, It was fun making animations :). One day I will have a m8 and will have to compare the 2. but both are very capable handheld trackers.
I still can't decide myslef beetween m8 and mini :(

FYI there is non audio when you play from it. Great review!

@@Aisjammy Mini will be here in a few days 🫠
@@dustyaudio will have to start pumping out the mini tutorials then 😀
what iems did you get to use with it? working out? be nice to have something more portable that sounds good to use with it than my studio cans.

I’ll find a workaround when my Mini arrives but can the Tracks be Instruments, to expand the FX track slots?
You can render selected to sample. I use it a lot when I need chords and not a lot of space left so I bake it to a loop

i'd like to hear ya try a Dirtywave m8
