    a fun fact : hybe groups usually dont make the oldest member the leader so that when facing difficulties the oldest member or members older to the leader can support them mentally. eg: BTS , TXT, ENHYPEN etc

    Sakura didn't just turn it down, she made Hybe put it in her contract she wouldn't be the leader! She mentioned it in an interview not too long ago and if I remember correctly only Chaewon knew, the other members were surprised.

    Produce 48 is a great watch, it's the origin story to so many 4th gen idols.
    Usually there wouldn't be jealousy for the leader of a Kpop group, it's a role that carries a lot of responsibility without any obvious benefits. They often sacrifice their own star power, to make sure the others shine. Often the leader is oldest, as is normal for Korean culture, but a lot of the times it's just one of the older members who is best suited for, or wants to do it.

    Btw Yunjin is pronounced like "yoon-jin" :) you mentioned learning Korean, learning the characters are actually very easy and once you know how to read Korean pronouncing the names would be easier. I don't know if you'll get into more groups but its very helpful. Obviously some groups where idols have english names wouldn't be so hard lol or stage names

    It's amazing how much more music they've released even since this version of this video was released. A full sized album in unforgiven, EPB, EPB eng ver, unforgiven jp mini-album (incl. unforgiven jp, antifragile jp, and jewelry), perfect night + 2 remixes, and dresscode.

  • @AmadanMath

    You miscalculated :) Eunchae is about 8.5 years younger than Sakura. Manchae was about 5 when Sakura debuted. Saying that it was a challenge suddenly being in a group with someone who was an idol basically her whole life is an understatement; at the start she was so shy she almost couldn't speak at all. But she is literally fearless, throwing herself into every challenge with zeal.
    Also, in Korea adulthood is 19 full years of age, so (as of 2 weeks ago) she has 2 more years to go.
    The bell game is Halli Galli. The cards are equally divided into piles (face-down) one for each player. Each card has 1-5 fruits on it. As their turn, players flip a card from their face-down pile onto their face-up pile. Whenever there are exactly 5 of the same fruit on the table (e.g. 4 bananas and 1 banana), if you are the first to ring a bell (regardless of whose turn it is), you eat all the played (face-up) cards, putting them on the bottom of your pile. If your pile runs out, you're out.
    Gang Beasts were on Leniverse episode 8.
    Oh, also, in Uno, you don't win by saying Uno. "Uno" is an obligatory warning to everyone that you have a single card left; if you fail to announce it and someone announces it for you, you are penalised. You win when you get rid of the last card.
    15cm is just under 6 inches.

    The produce show they were on was very much popularity over talent.
    Yunjin lost her spot the second she got the main vocalist part in a song over a fan favourite, people hated her for it even though she deserved it and was a better vocalist.
    It was also exposed that the show winners were rigged, while almost all members who got in did really get in, their placements were edited and two members were rigged out/in.
    For example Sakura had been #1 for most of the show but in the last episode a girl who wasn’t anywhere near the top 5 suddenly placed #1 and Sakura’s official rank fell to #2.
    In reality Sakura was most likely the real #1, but the show is Korean and they wanted a Korean winner.

    • @Miyawakiss
      @Miyawakiss 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think what really saddened me was how knetz heavily speculated that her spot was rigged when the Mnet vote manipulation scandal happened despite the fact that she was consistently in the top rankings and had one the most views for her pd48 fancams. I'm sure she was aware of this because the Korean forums were going wild about her back then.
      Even after investigations concluded and all those indicted were from the Korean entertainment companies, Sakura's position was still questioned and criticized by knetizens. I'm so glad she stayed strong and I have so much respect for her. She's improved by leaps and bounds since her pd48 days and her work ethic is truly admirable.

    • @iduli02
      @iduli02 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kman2324 she was 7th place in the episode before with significantly less votes than 6th place...
      4th, 5th and 6th place were only 3/4K votes away from each other, while Wonyoung was 30K votes away from 6th place.

    • @kman2324
      @kman2324 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@iduli02 She was 3rd episode 5, 1st episode 8. Between each round they changed the voting rules. That drastically changes rankings.

    • @iduli02
      @iduli02 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@kman2324 and the rules which were "applied" on the last episode should have reflected her performance the past 2 episodes.
      We all know it was rigged and it was very obvious they didn't want a Japanese person at #1, especially with how they had portrayed the Japanese trainees to uplift the Korean ones in previous episodes too.
      Sakura was overwhelmingly the most popular trainee in the entire show, even when it was announced at the time no one could believe she came 2nd.

    Miyawaki Sakura is a popular idol in Japan.
    She is very popular for her cuteness and fun.
    Sakura and Chae Won were in the same group as "Iz One", which was formed in 2018.
    "Iz One" was very popular in both Japan and Korea.

    The 4 part documentary is really well done, so it should be first thing new fearnots get into before going for their other variety contents, because it informs you all you need to know about why the group exist, and how they become who they are. So really hope you guys will react to it.

    1:27:34 Honestly it’s just a styling choice 😂 The color theme seemed to be black & silver (maybe navy blue as well but I can’t tell), along with glitter. You can see bits of Kkura’s outfit and a tiny piece of Yunjin’s outfit resemble Chaewon’s, and Zuha & Eunchae has sparkles on her dress 👍🏾 That’s how they keep it cohesive

    there is 1 season per era, first season debut (fearless) second (antifragile) and the last one that came out was unforgiven.

    (I PUT A LOT HERE BUT I WOULD APPRECIATE IF SOMEONE SAW MY OPINION) Sakura's singing is not bad, but it isn't good either, she sings like how she speaks and how she speaks is a bit shaky. Although I don't know why she sings that way, I think it's because the idol training system in Japan is very different from the koren idol training system, so I think this is why she sings that way. The Japanese prioritize entertainment over training, so even if a trainee doesn't isn't a great singer or a good dancer, they will probably still debut if they are entertaining. In izone they didn't get enough training, and all of their songs were really high pitched, so I believe Sakura might have damaged her voice from her time as an idol in Japan and in izone. She also really improved her dancing. ❤

    Unfortunately idols keep getting younger and younger, I say unfortunately as im against minors debuting in kpop for many reasons including mental health and the sexualization of minors but it keeps happening so there is really nothing we can do. So sometimes the age gaps are crazy like one group the age gap is 13 years.
    And yeah also bc of that many idols loose their childhood and for maknaes they basically are raised by the older members
