    You are the first person for me that has spoken on Bernadette Roberts experience that doesn't try and make the ego experience, unitive experience, and the no self-event fit into a compartmentalized personal teaching or doctrine of a particular traditional spirituality or religious belief. For some, BR is labeled a mystic when in fact she makes no claim of that and insists on being an ordinary person in Christianity that did the work to help point to a new dimension that wasn't clear or maybe even spoken about in the Christian tradition. I feel your seeing and experience is spot on. Thanks for sharing.

    Solid summary of Bernadette. Bernadette offers one of the clearest maps of the spiritual journey that I've come across.

      It should be noted that Bernadette writes of stages beyond Noself (meaning the death of Unitivity, or the Crucifixion), namely the Resurrection and Ascension. Her comments on the latter are sparse. There is also a personal warmth to the manner of presentation one finds in the Christian mystics that can be lost in more secular presentations of the journey, but this is a matter of personal taste.

    Beautifully described and expressed. It would be helpful if more people spoke about this, from their direct experience, as you are. ❤️

      Hi there, how I see it is that life cares for itself, and contains the impulse for growth and evolution. This is evident in nature. As we align in harmony with life, we will be used for the support of the whole, in word, deed, etc,. Warm blessings to you.

    Nice analogy, and beautifully described. It seems to me that the falling away of self-reflection is the theme and benchmark of No-Self. That shift hasn't happened here yet, but in time it will. I'm a little worried tho that some teachers - who think that they've realized No-Self, but hasn't - might give bad advice during the transition.
    Is there a responsibility amongst those who's gone through this, to raise the question publicly? 🦋

    Bernadette did point out a really clear path and the doughnut image is really helpull
    However, what she writes about the dissolution of the unitive state is nothing pleasant and nothing we would want to experience, so it must be useful, that in this state there is no self anymore...or maybe it is just some scary stuff about the void of voids "my mind" understood

    • @SusanneMarie-LivingAwake
      @SusanneMarie-LivingAwake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I am not sure why Bernadette experienced the entry into no-self, in what may be deemed unpleasant. I too noticed this in her writing. But it was not my experience. Yes, it was dramatic, and it took some time to adjust to the new way of directly experiencing reality without the veil of unity. But, it was not negative, simply different.

      @@SusanneMarie-LivingAwake well maybe she and others write in a way so that the I doesn't want to have the no self experience as a reward for the I... There is a danger of conditioning oneself to want that state...
      But, what I also wonder about is, if the path really is that linear. Is this your experience, that it is a linear process from ego to unitive to no self? All I realize is the spanda... Being, non-being, being, non-being... And it doesn't stop....

    • @SusanneMarie-LivingAwake
      @SusanneMarie-LivingAwake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was linear in my case, and it sounds like in Bernadette & Adya's, case. This is all I know.
      And it definitely is not a reward. :)
      It is more evolutionary based, than anything else.
      Without knowing more of what you are experiencing, I cannot comment on where you are at (and maybe you aren't asking for that).

    There is a sort of blankness to people who feel they have been through similar transitions. It is clearly different, but it is not self evident that it is desirable, as some sense of drive seems to not be there.

    • @KyanUganda-yh5bc
      @KyanUganda-yh5bc ปีที่แล้ว

      All drive is from the self....all is God what would God be driven towards when he is everything

    • @petermartin5030
      @petermartin5030 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KyanUganda-yh5bcPhysicists would say the overall drive is towards increasing entropy (chaos, randomness).
