I’m pretty much with you here. I didn’t hate Jimmy Kimmel (or love him). I did feel really uncomfortable during the bit with RDJ and the drug references. I mean really?? I loved Ryan Goslings performance (despite not being a Barbie fan). You couldn’t hear Billie Elish behind a paper bag. I thought there was an issue with her mic. I thought for the most part the skits between the presenters were good but a couple were terrible. I liked the 5 previous winners thing too. I got to see Nic Cage ❤. I’m glad they didn’t continue that by hauling out 5 corpses for the memorial section!!!! The UK thing with the 4 z-listers and JR was soooo bad! I was so happy to see Poor Things do so well. I didn’t expect it either. Really enjoyed your roundup 🙂
I agree with everything said here. I don't take the Oscars seriously anymore. It's also a shame that The Snow Society didn't get any Oscar. Great video!
Awesome hearing your thoughts on the Oscars bud! I didn’t see the full thing but I saw highlights and Jimmy Kimmel was TRASH. How making a joke of someone’s addiction is funny I don’t know.. I’m glad Poor Things won 4, but I don’t think Oppenheimer deserved to win so many
This was the first year I properly watched the Oscars, I thought it was good. I thought it was weird how they structure the Oscars in the UK though, I don’t mind Jimmy Kimmel but I didn’t really care for him here. The highlight for me was Ryan Gosling’s performance as Ken, I was also happy seeing the love the Oppenheimer was getting. I was a little disappointed Mission Impossible didn’t get anything other than nominations, let’s hope that’s not the case for the next MI movie.
I really did enjoy the show last night.. I agree it went on too long, especially for us lot in the UK with it finishing at 2.30 this morning, and the constant cut backs to Jonathan Ross and Kimmel were a bit annoying after a while, but I'm very happy with all the winners I had a feeling it would be a sweep for Oppenheimer and Poor Things this year,, two exceptional films fully deserving of the awards I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought Pacino scuffed his lines a bit at the end though haha
I stopped watching the Oscars many years ago. It lost its magic for me. I agree with ditching a host and having some sketches or the presenters doing some banter before presenting. They have really struggled to find a host who isn't going to be controversial so they choose bland. Oh. I actually really like "What I was made for". The lyrics mean a lot to me. I did not like the one she did for James Bond, though. The best song category should be dropped out. Or reduce to 3 nominees.

Yeah the opening was 20 mins of jokes. I don’t care for Jimmy Kimmel. The stuff he said when people didn’t take the covid shot was pretty cruel. Yeah Billie ellish has the same vibe with every song.
