Thank you Laura, I live in BOgota for 9 years now, but I have never heard of the aguinaldos, and christmas presents are always in the night of 24 to 25! So regional differences for sure, but you give a nice summary for those not celebrating here!
It was so interesting! 😍 And omg that toilet decoration 🤭🤭🤭 really intresting to know how different cultures celebrate Christmas, it's very different than here in Europe 😳❤️🎀🎄
I know right the toilet decoration is just the absolute highlight 😂 thank you for watching & I am happy to see that people like you are interested in how other cultures celebrate 🙏🏼
I came looking for Christmas Albums from Columbia Records and your video was suggested to me. What an absolute JOY to see this! My family has some Mexican roots and there are some similarities in how we celebrate and how you're celebrating there, but there are still enough differences to make it so fun and interesting. I hope you have a Merry Christmas for 2023!!
Haha wow! Happy to hear this really ☺️ definitely latinos celebrate similarly, but very different to the westerners. I love the passion and fire 🔥 I hope you enjoy this year's celebrations too 🙏😌
Good video, I know these things. Me from Lettonia, Letland or Latvija and my girlfriend from Colombia. Now we live in Lettonia but before we lived in Colombia, especially in Cartagena and Santa Marta where her family and friends are. I experienced christmas once in colombia with her family in cartagena where we lived. I would say this, that one of the major differences is that in many places in Europe including in lettonia its very much about various christmas markets, usually homemade things. Many traditional items sold there. And in colombia its really not about christmas markets, there was some market in cartagena during christmas but not quite like in europe, vibe was different too. In colombia instead its very much about christmas light displays and decorations. Also you didnt mention the difference in the characters or the symbols of those decorations. Bunny is very important in europe while in colombia it may be a camel. Thats one example. The major difference here is that they are provided free to people in colombia and usually are in the city center. In lettonia and elsewhere in europe there are also amazing christmas light displays but they are not free and probably not in the city center. We paid more than 10 euro per person to see one and I would say it was worth it. But still they may be called exibitions for which people need to pay. I dont know how this works or why in colombia these things are free while in europe they are not. What do you think? Other major differences that surprised my girlfriend was the advent calander and crowns with usually 4 candles for each week. In colombia its not a thing while here its so very common. In colombia on the other hand there are that candle day for santa maria which we celebrated there at night and now here in lettonia and that 9 day praying. Also another important christmas tradition in europe and here in lettonia is going to the opera house to see the nutcracker ballet, for many families thats a must for every christmas. Me and my girlfriend just went and she saw it for the first time here and was inspired. In colombia seeing nutcracker is not a thing it seems. The christmas food of course is different as well, no hot wine or gingerbread cookies in colombia but the things you mentioned. Many other things as well but also in europe that would be different from country to country. Also the real christmas trees may be a surpsise for some here as they are used to the artifical ones. Probably there are many more interesting different christmas season traditions to mention
yeah we filipino celebrate our christmas for 4months😊 and about for being chrianismo praying for 9days at started at december 16, but the difference is we need to go in church. for praying🙏😊
