They really been working hard during the concept phase. I see most of these works are between 2013 through 2018, and thats just crazy to think about. Kudos to the many artists and the team that developed this last Eva movie. They did a fantastic job :)
That track is actually a remake of a track from the movie "The War in Space". It also has a giant flying battleship tough most people might know that movie as the goofy japanese star wars knockoff.
I really hated the skulls too, but the X was too good on the adams opfer: their numbers are mark.9, 10, 11 and 12 and the marks on their face represented IX, X, XI and XII. Just perfect.
Those early Jet Alone designs remind me of the Turn X gundam. And I don't know if anyone said this but Evangelion's technology aesthetic is really underrated.
I think these designs can be reused in like a new series in the future. Because I like the idea of more Animalistic Evangelions. and there's potential there.
1:36 I really do hope Ikuto Yamashita decides to actually look into designing more Evangelions with the UX-1 Allegorica. I see that he used Evangelion Unit-02 Type II Allegorica and Evangelion Unit-00 F-Type Allegorica here. I hope he can thread that floor once again.
I still believed we should’ve gotten that inbetween story with kaji and maybe everything right before 3.0 or even another with the stuff before 3.0 + 1.0, it would’ve made the rebuilds a little less all over the place
Honestly i just wish i got to see the altenite timeline where unit 8 looked completely different and jet alone had an appearance or more of a refrence than some green parts holding unit 2 together , and other such things. Not that i didnt enjoy what we got, just that i want to see more lol

I finally get the creative world behind Eva and understand that I will never be satisfied by any scifi-mythology lore in it, for it is mostly decided on AWEfactor, randomness without much coherence in mind.
It was for a scrapped concept to have mass-production looking autonomous helpers roaming around inside the Wunder, based on the concept of white blood cells.
To be honest, this is one of the reason why the final movie sucked for me. The upgrade to those eva's and angels we're so complicated, nothing was memorable. the simplicity of the design of the angels and the evas from the original and the first 2 rebuilds were uncanny. Then they went all Michael Bay after the 14 year time lapse.
For me, it was largely that the new additions, such as the Wunder, and the Eorlsung were so static and unmoving. The ships are alive to some degree, they should move a little more as such. Similarly, while the Eva designs for the Wille make some level of sense to me(crude, human-made attachments from rag-tag survivors), the Nerv Eva designs seemed like they needed a more organic and grown feel. The flying Evas and the 4444C cannon were amazing concepts, but would have been better if they were not littered with re-used assets like the positron cannon, or longinus spears that looked taped-on. Take a simple approach; the AT-fields are shown to be able to mold a being's physical form, so why not make the Nerv Evas look less weaponized by man, and look more like they grew these weapons as appendages themselves? More flesh and carapace. Like Mark.09's Vessel transformation from YC(N)R?

For an anine known for its giant robots, I can't help but feel utterly disappointed at the fight scenes... I've rewatched the ending to 2.0 and 3.0's climax dozens of times but theres nothing that keeps me coming back to 3.0 + 1.0, The paris fight scene was cool with all the new units but the flying guys pose 0 threat and after the positron canons first shot its either gonna kill a quarter of the cast or be destroyed by mari, no surprise or suspense the latter happens. I was super hyped for the anti-wunder fight but it was COMPLETELY ruined by the music choice, I mean I liked the song but shouldn't I be worried or be put in suspense or some shit? Like imagine during the ending to 3.0 they played the same song during eva 13 and 02's fight like ???? the unit 07 fight was hideous I shouldn't even need to say more. Idk what their name was but the jumpy two arm stuff was meh, Asuka's transformation was fucking hype but then *pop* like 2 minutes of buildup for her to get one shot??????? Jesus christ how did decisions like that come to be? I get anno's decision to 'purposefully' use shit cgi to make it look like that old ultraman / godzilla like japanese animation stuff but shit cgi is still shit cgi. And thats all the amazing fight scenes we get in the final movie about a series defined for (among other things) its mecha action...

The X masks would’ve fit so much better with the Mark 7 army instead of being on all the Vessel of the Adams. I wasn’t a fan of the skulls

It was the preliminary design for the plugsuit Asuka wears as a kid in the film, which they changed to be red.

The music in the wunder fight is literally an ost from another space ship movie. "The space war" released in the 70s.
